Wonderful bookstore! The owner was friendly and let us browse to our heart’s content. There is such a great, well thought out selection that we had a hard time narrowing down the books we wanted to bring home. Whatever your age and literary preference you’ll be sure to find something good. Fun selection of puzzles gifts and extras. Prices are fair, no sticker shock compared to online so no excuse not to shop local here!

Lovely shop with a great selection. I picked up the best kids books and love that they offer a lot of regional authors and artists. Nicely organized and curated selection. Even got a few things for me. Shop local!

The staff at this bookstore are very helpful. My daughter likes to go in there & ask them about book recommendations. She usually finds a few from their recommendations & then sits on the carpet in their kid’s area to see which ones she thinks look interesting to her. I enjoy flipping through their new books while sitting on their bench & eventually usually pick a book to buy from their used section (yes, they have used books for kids & adults too). Their prices for both new & used books are reasonable. They can also order in any book requested (well, “any” probably has caveats). I believe you can make these book requests online as well as by calling them or in person. They have gift items as well such as candles, activity sets, gift cards, stickers, mugs, etc. I recommend this store.

Charming book store in Stevenson, Washington. Good selection of general books and gifts. Has books by local authors and both fiction and non-fiction about the area. Owner was helpful without being bothersome.

What a fun place to shop! New and used books arranged to find titles easily. Puzzles, games, and cards, too. There were candles to go with Outlander, and Lord of the Rings books!

Such a great find! The woman who runs it was very helpful for picking out some new reads for our bibliophile kids. She carries both used and new books of all types.

My husband and I stopped by with our two-year-old daughter to stock up on books for our long weekend in the Gorge. As soon as we came into the otherwise empty store, the staff member came stalking out of the back and rudely asked, “Do you have a mask for her?”, pointing to our daughter. My husband and I- both fully vaccinated- were of course masked up, but our daughter won’t wear one no matter how much we have tried to make her. She’s two and doesn’t understand why she has to wear one, and she also has textural aversions that will require occupational therapy as soon as it is safe for her to go to OT on a regular basis. Our child doesn’t go to school or daycare, doesn’t typically go anywhere outside the house, especially stores, and doesn’t play with other children because of the pandemic. We take her health incredibly seriously and thought that, in a shop with three other masked and (presumably) vaccinated adults she would be safe.
I could see the staff member was considering asking us to leave, so I pointed out that our daughter is two. Legally, of course, she can’t be required to wear a mask because the state of Washington understands that for children of certain ages and (dis)abilities, they may not understand why they are being made to wear one and may not tolerate one.
I instantly wanted to leave the store. To be polite, I walked around for a minute, but the tension emanating off the staff member was palpable. It was so uncomfortable and hostile. I won’t ever go back. I can get books cheaper and with less aggravation on Amazon.
For anyone interested, it appeared as though the bookstore sells new books, not used. Good luck with that, especially when you treat your customers like scum. We would have easily dropped $50-100 there today, but we won’t ever be back.

Cute store, nice selection. Unfortunately went in yesterday to buy my daughters new books for valentines day, and the clerk yelled at my daughter for touching part a display and scolded me for "not watching" my 8 year old. I was standing near her watching her. Disappointed. This was my second trip in here. Not sure I'll go back.
