Herman Creek Trailhead

These trails are so close to Portland! There are miles of trails for hikers and runners and dogs. There are links to other trailheads too. Herman Creek was a river at this time. The wild flowers were out, not the fields of flowers some people are looking for but lots of variety! The trees provided shade and the views were great.

It's not a bad hike at all, just lacking compared to others in the vicinity. Nice waterfall about 2milrs in

I feel great when i hike it, its a lot of fun. Creek is beautiful and 30 minutes in. Try staking the rocks, but remeber to lnock them down! How many can you get?

Beautiful waterfall! Fun, kinda challenging hike. The trail to the falls is about 2.25 and then you can continue on from there. We just did the falls and headed back. The first mile and a half of this trail is switchbacks and uphill but the falls are worth it! Kinda small parking lot with a bathroom. Lots of broken glass so don’t leave valuables in the car

Wonderful. Such a great hike. The waterfall, in the snow, was magnificent. Highly recommended about 4.5 mile (total) hike.

Very little parking available at the trailhead and a pass is required!! Went on Saturday and promptly left as there wasn’t any room to park. Went back on Monday and had the place to ourselves practically.
Many different tails available to branch off on from ½ mile up this path. Easy to hard and in between with mileage to your customization.

This is my personal favorite other than eagle creek so don't go there and mess it up , kinda joking it's a challenging grade hike and more wilderness than tourist day tripping .

need a plan and a trail map , a day pack ,good shoes, bear spray maybe ,

yesterday we had a elevation from 800-2200 feet in 2 miles even my dogs legs where shaking when we got to the top .

Beautiful trails and several different options for trails once you get in it.

There just wasn't enough time to walk the trails....we will definitely have to return....🥰

There are so many broken glasses on the ground which tells me there were many break-ins. Good practice is not to leave any things visible in the car.
