Typical diner food choices but prepared really well, not heavy with grease and salt but still plenty of flavour. Their French toast and waffles are served with real pale syrup. The coffee is good. This place is just good!!! Solid and reliable.

I love Cable Car it's a small old school breakfast spit. They have plenty of booths so there is never a wait.

You can get Everything from Breakfast to Burgers. It is always good & reasonably priced.

A must try small business in downtown South San Francisco

Small quiet area with neighborhood or metered parking. Older style diner atmosphere. I ordered the "Pancake Special" for $9.75 which is fairly cheap in cost. The special had 2 Pancakes, 1 egg and 2 pieces of bacon. No complaints about the food, it was a quick stop and quick bite for food which did its job. The service and fast and attentive.
My cousin ordered the "Cable Car Ommlette" which had beef, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and swiss cheese. Was a large portion for $13, worth the cost. Filled with ingredients to the point of it bursting. (No photo unfortately)

Visiting Family in the area, so found this little gem within walking distance of our rental. My husband had Spinach Mushroom Swiss omelette and I got the Grand Ave omelette (Spinach, Ham and cream cheese with Hollandaise) They were absolutely delicious. Vicki was the server, and she did a fabulous job by herself during a pretty busy rush. To top it all off, we ordered a Strawberry milkshake and it was the best milkshake we've had in quite a while. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend you visit this quaint little cafe.

100 % RECOMMENDED! The service is excellent, friendly and helpful. We came because I ask Julio from the Fox Car rental were I can have a good Cornbeef Hash and he recommended Cable Car Cafe. Was so worth it 👌🙌. My wife had scramble eggs with bacon and hash brown. The server that I think is the owners is so friendly, thank you for taking care of us! You need to try a fresh squeezed orange juice 🍊

I work in the mall and come here often, the couple that own the Cafe are super nice and the food comes out speedy and I can’t express how delicious the food is as they’ve added they’re own special twist to the menu. My favorite is the Tuna Sandwich strongly recommended. :D

This place has the best chicken fried steak in the bay area. I can't find any place that makes it better and I've tried. I've converted many others to this cozy cafe just for this dish. The owners are also super friendly and chatty if you like that small town feeling. I like my sauce on the side and which is why it's in another bowl. Try this dish out. You won't be disappointed.

Pleasantly surprised! It wasn't busy when I went in for lunch around 12. It is a very nicely decorated and clean restaurant with plenty of seating. We ordered and received our food right away. It was delicious, and extremely well priced( if anything I found it under priced).
I definitely plan on making this a regular place to visit.
