Jack's Restaurant & Bar

I came to Jack's Restaurant to have lunch with my friend. The atmosphere was good. The waiter was friendly and attentive, so in the service side, Jack's Restaurant is excellent. I ordered the Steak and Eggs, which I found delicious. The food portions was enough to fill me and leave me satisfied. I drak strawberry limonade, which was sweet and refreshing.

Seriously, they have the best food and service here! Today I tried the Code Bleu burger which was charbroiled to a perfect medium, and it was juicy, savory, and brightened with Bleu Cheese and a rich bbq sauce, and topped with bacon, a large crispy onion ring, fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes and a pickle. It was probably the tastiest burger I've ever eaten! Oh, and the sweet potato fries were slightly crispy and sweet, and so good! They also came with Chipotle mayo but didn't need it. We also ordered the French Dip, which was generously stuffed with thinly sliced top sirloin and came with savory au jus and crispy fries. We've tried several entrées here, and everything we've eaten was always delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for the excellent food, comfortable ambiance, and top-notch service!

It felt like I was in Walnut Creek. Jack's is a stylish restaurant with a full bar, TVs and an awesome menu. They ran out of country fried steak so I could not order the mighty moose. My second choice was a cheeseburger with garlic fries $15+$1.50, $16.50 garlic fries. This was an incredible 1/2 pound burger. The garlic fries are the 2nd best I've had in my life. So good. My friends all enjoyed their meals. Steak & eggs $24, corned beef hash $15 and banana fresh toast $13. Service was excellent.

My husband and I are down for an event and had no idea where to go for dinner after driving to the San Francisco area. I saw the review of Jack's so we chose to give it a try. I ordered the French dip. The only word that comes to mind is amazing! Lean, lean beef! Soft roll (not sour dough which was a plus for me!) The meal had a large sandwich and tons of fries. My husband ordered the steak and he said it was really good, cooked on a well seasoned grill. If you want good food, stop by Jack's!

We frequent both the San Mateo & San Bruno locations! Both the restaurant and the bar are great places to eat & drink. Love the early bird dining specials. Good wine list. Great appetizers if you are just looking for small bites too!

What an awesome place! The best thing about this place is the variety! They have seafood, steak, Italian, salads, bar food, just so many options!

I had the New York steak dinner, accompanied with a generous portion of garlic and oregano fries (my request). The steak was slightly overcooked, but had amazing flavor. The veggies were crunchy and huge.

Wife had the chicken carbonara and she loved it.

Bottom line, this place serves GREAT food with lots of options.

This is a great place to either sit at the bar or in the main dining area. Great happy hour selection. Try the calamari, sliders and lamb meatballs to start. Then order a side car lol or your favorite drink. The polenta is very large in size and full of flavor. The staff us very nice and sociable. I say check it out.

Apparently popular place. Nice ambience, location ok and a little tight parking lot. Friendly but very busy workers. Various table options and also standing tables\bar option (no waiting when crowded).
The menu is very complete and variable. For breakfast, Lunch, dinner or a snack. In my opinion exciting and interesting plates.
The composition and quality really seems good. The portions (sizes) are good. Tasty and well prepared, took not too long. Good sauce options at the table. Prices are fair. I recommend this place.

Came here for my daughter's bday. We were supposed to go to BJs but they were a disaster so we had to find someplace last minute. We called Jack's and they quoted us for a party of 5 with a wait time of 5 to 10 minutes. We drove across the street and walked in and they immediately sat us without the wait. Service responded quickly to us got our drinks, appetizers, and dinner way faster than we expected. The atmosphere was really nice. And my husband and I enjoyed looking at the pictures of the family that owns the restaurant chain. My husband said he enjoyed his steak and I think we will for sure come back here again in the near future. I didn't get to take pictures of anything else because we were so hungry from waiting at bjs for over 45 minutes.

By the way parking here can be difficult. It's crazy busy here even considering that we went on a Wednesday and not a weekend, it was still packed. We got lucky because when we pulled in a family was leaving.

Our 1st time, we loved it. The food was great, with large portions. Will be back for sure.

I gave this restaurant 5 star. I ordered my favorite lunch turkey club to go yesterday. It was the best turkey club I’ve had since the 80s. When I’m in town with family this is where I prefer to go. I highly recommend.

Went here because everything was closed d/t power outage. Walked right in, and we were immediately seated. The power did turn off, but we were still served. The food was delicious!!! It always is (San Mateo). Service was a bit slow, we had to wave down staff for service, staff was friendly and helpful!!!

This is my favorite brunch spot! The food is amazing, the staff is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing.

This place screams family, after church meal, birthday celebration, anything! Can't wait to return.

EXCELLENT!!! Great portion sizes, Gloria was so patient (our 1st time there- lots of great options), well-versed on menu, lovely attitude, timely & personable AND THE FOOD....well-seasoned, full of flavor, EXCELLENT!!!

Had gyro, garlic and herb fries, half Greek salad. Family had Asian chicken wings and onion rings....lamb burger and fries. We all tried each other's and enjoyed every bite.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and each time has been an excellent dining experience. I highly recommend the Reuben sandwich and the fish n chips. They also have a great tuxedo cake for dessert. 😋👌🏼

Seems like no matter what you order it's done very well.
I'm not always into meat options, so I chose a veggie wrap and I added a little bit of the Lamb. It was one of the best raps I've ever tasted. Service was very friendly, unlike many places in the city. Definitely worth leaving San Francisco to find another restaurant.

OMG!!! super good restaurant to dine if you're looking for a good New York and Sirloin steaks! Waiters were very alert and just so focused. We definitely want to go back and dine again!

This place is always full. On a Friday evening, the wait time was nearly 30 minutes, so I decided to come here for early Sunday Brunch. Even at 9:00 AM I had to wait for few minutes.

Ambience is quaint, with high ceilings, and dim lighting. Bar area is large with good options on tap. Breakfast menu was large. I had Eggs Benedict, and their Hollande sauce was a bit tangy, which was a nice addition.

I also got pancakes for tables. They were quite good. Portions are big, so no need to order any sides or anything for table.

Awesome food, drinks, and service. We were staying at a nearby hotel for four nights. Loved our first Jack's dinner experience so much that we came back again for dinner and once for drinks. The burgers were huge and delicious. Highly recommend the homemade onion rings.

I have been to the Jack's in Pleasant Hill a few times and now San Bruno. I am totally impressed with the food every time! This time I got the California Burger with sweet potato fries. I ordered medium rare and got medium rare. High five for getting it right. Can't really go wrong with the rest, avocado, cheese, sour dough... The fries had a zippy chipotle mayo dipping sauce that was a perfect pairing. My friends got the fish n' chips and blue cheese burger. Rave reviews all around there too.
