I have gone to San Mateo county event center a few times already and it's been amazing. Place is clean for all the events I've attended. Yeah binds are consistently changed out. Very spacious. Plenty of places to sit with shade. There was plenty of parking on-site and off site. They blocked off certain nearby streets for easy access to the event center. They have an awesome staging outdoor area for performances. Definitely would come here for the next event.

I felt like the price went up for wrist bands for RIDES ONLY...

Lines were extremely long, but great ride conductors. Rides were safe and fun.

At the end of the night, we had a blast for Poly Day. Great performances, great vibes all around and accessible parking.

So, today's event was San Mateo Foodieland and Night Market which ran June 30-July 2 and featured over 170 vendors. The food was amazing, from banana/ice cream to alligator and frog legs, lobster and shrimp. The weather was really nice, not too hot. There was plenty of parking and the facilities were nice and clean. This was my first time attending the event and I really enjoyed myself. My group did as well. If you have not attended this event before, it is a must. I missed the one in Sacramento a few weeks ago. I highly recommend Foodieland, it is a great family experience. Foodieland gets two 👍👍 up.

Quite a sizeable venue that can host a few thousand people. I came here for Makerfaire 2019 and certainly had some fun while there. For the faire, there was a lot of space to be inside and outside. Overall I enjoyed it there as the venue served its function as required.

Attended the Makers Faire again this year, and San Mateo is the original and flagship Makers Faire to this day. It is quite a lot of space that the event covers, and while years ago it seemed like they would never come close to needing the entire expanse, it has started to seem a possibility as the years progressed. Huge faire, with an insanely diverse range of various parts of the Maker Movement.

I took some family and friends who had never been, and was constantly bombarded with questions about what the Makers Faire is actually about. These continued up to the day of the event despite my explanation that it wasn't what they probably expect and the diversity makes it impossible to summarize efficiently. Once we got there, and walked around for a couple minutes those questions instantly ceased. Their sudden and overwhelmingly clear comprehension of my explanatory struggles was plainly obvious, but overshadowed by the sense of wonder that is inevitably evoked by such a huge range of creative, hands on projects in the endless rows of booths.

I have no idea what this venue looks like for any other events throughout the year, so I cannot comment there. But it is so spectacular for this glorious annual gathering of the Maker Community, albeit a bit short on available parking within the immediate vicinity. We parked a few blocks away and simply hailed an Uber to take us that last mile. Ultimately this was far more preferable to having to deal with the backed up traffic immediately adjacent to the grounds.

The event organizers did an excellent job designating an area for Uber, Lyft, or any other drop-off or roadside pickup service. They kept it close enough to not be a hassle to use the area, while ensuring the bit of roadway was only having event traffic directed along there if providing such services. So the traffic around the ride share service area was not bad at all, not having to battle with the rest of those folks driving 5 MPH looking for the $50 parking!

I'll absolutely be attending again soon! If not next year, then I'll certainly be sure to plan attending within three years or so. If you or someone you love is at all technically inclined, or even if just the type who is great at skills that are particularly hands-on, I urge you to check out this event. You will not be disappointed! (But purchase your tickets prior to approaching the entrance gate, or expect to pay significantly more for passes.)

Our first anime con. Surprisingly it was very well managed and the food was bomb.

Went here for the children's vaccination center. The place was decked out with decorations, furniture, there was fun music. What a great experience for the kids!

Attended the Hillsborough Antique Fair today. Always a fun time with beautiful estate jewelry, collectibles, china and porcelains, bronzes, paintings, hand woven rugs and other art items. Quality throughout. Many of the dealers have been attending this annual event for decades. I always find a “priceless” treasure to bring home.

Today was my lucky day here, for my covid-19 vaccine. Apparently, I was told the line for this is normally hours long, with cars all lined up outside the entrance going down Saratoga. Besides that, the whole process was quick and went smoothly. I liked how there was many essential workers available with flags directing where to go and such, to help you with any questions.

Aloha,

We usually go to the Annual Aloha Festival every year. It's well organized as far as the different vendor booths and the flow of the foot traffic.

The entertainment is always a treat, while tasting all the assorted Island food. However some of the food being served is not worth the money.

Coach D's food booth- I ordered plate no 4 which includes a hot link, BBQ chicken, potato and macaroni salad. I opened the to go box and I was dissappointed! The small sliced pieces of chicken was not freshly cooked. It was dry! Nothing like the picture advertised.!

But the booth next to it was 100% better! We ordered the teriyaki chicken skewer and the prawns with fries.

The chicken was hot, juicy and packed with flavor. The prawns were battered and fried. It was crunchy and tender on the inside. Yummy!!! Now we know where to go next yr.

Also, I forgot the name of the food booth. But it's near the vendor entrance off of S. Delaware. They're the only ones serving lomi lomi seperately. For $10 you get a small see through container with little slivers of salmon and the rest of it was tomatoes! Not worth the $10 put more salmon please!!!!

As far as the Hawaiian merchandise, we always support the Kalikiano booth. Which is Christian in Hawaiian. They sell good quality hats, t-shirts, and thermoses. Our teens love their hats, which are $30. They're the last booth on the far left hand corner if you're entering from the parking lot.

Maker Fair is the best fair all year and this year may be it's last. That would be a terrible tragedy for the community #savemakerfair

Good for the fam, Was a little warm so I didn't feel so good but the ice cream helped because it was delicious. You also get to see animals so that's cool! Should've taken pictures, but you get a free book from the book mobile, kewl! There's also exhibits of sorts inside the building along with games and rides outside. Definitely check it out if you're in the mood for something social and interactive!

Took my grandchildren to the fair. It was so much fun. The great selection of foods and rides were excellent!!

Only downside today was the weather. It was overcast at times then it would sprinkle for a while. Unfortunately, when you are in weather like the sun is still coming down on you. Before you know it you have a sunburn.

Overall, spent tons of money, but worth every penny to see the smiles on my babies faces!!
