Colombo’s Liquors, Early-1960’s.

At the time, Colombo’s was one South San Francisco's largest and most modern liquor stores. They distinguished themselves as having plenty of free parking and were open seven days a week.

I’m not sure which sign I like better: the original pictured in the first photo or the one that is up today.

Both are actually pretty cool. I love the shape of the original but I also like the font, style and colors in the current one. What say you?

Looking at the building back then, I think it was a little longer(?). Looks like it was shortened and the apartment complex that’s there today was built next to it.

Back then Columbo’s had a lot more glass built in, including on the Linden side. Today the glass on that side is gone and it's been replaced with a wall that has a large stone covering. Same in the front of the building as well. The glass also isn't as tall as it once was.

The People that work there are very Friendly..and helpful.

This a officially unofficial landmark/cornerstone/fixture of South City's fine plethora of liquor stores aside from BossMan's drive thru liquor store to School House, Jailhouse, to Mike & Ken's, D&M, Al's, and Liberty just to name a few. But all the activity that happened outside of this joint warrants Google reviews all their own(but we can't and will not go into detail about any "alleged" incidents which occurred 🙈🙊🙉🤐 sorry not sorry!)

This place has the coldest drinks hands down. For South San Francisco cross st is lux ave and Linden. No store has the drinks super cold. I can imagine you beer drinkers. This is an OG store you can tell once your up to it. It goes well with los metates Taqueria down the block their al pastor burrito with a super cold drink very Nice dont belive make me a liar and check it out for yourself.

I live around the corner and walk here all the time. It’s a great convenience store for snacks and groceries like milk, toilet paper, and good selection of wines and liquors
