One of the best coffee shops in Santa Cruz! Fantastic service, delicious coffee, worth visiting 100%

Lulu Carpenter's is a lovely spot to grab breakfast or brunch. They have so many options both sweet and savory to choose from. If you haven't tried the bacon wrapped egg yet you really should. They serve all the classic cafe coffee and tea options, and from my experience they are made very well. The staff are mostly very friendly but not always. The inside dining is still closed but they have some tables and chairs out front for customers. I highly recommend stopping in next time you're in downtown Santa Cruz.

Their scones and teas did not disappoint. The flavors were what I was looking for and I loved the texture of the scones. The young lady working there was pleasant and helpful. I absolutely love the building's architecture. I highly recommend!

though i am not a fan of the food here, the espresso drinks and coffee are of the best in the Bar Area, in fact, i would make an excuse to drive to Santa Cruz from San Francisco just to have a hemp milk latte or "hempaccino". excellent downtown SC café with indoor and outdoor seating. Vegan options for the drinks including Rice, Soy, Almond, or Hemp milks. The food in not the most vegan friendly as most is sweet and has eggs and dairy, usually they have something vegan, but not always as it is dependent on the daily stock. Finding a seat inside on a cool day can be a challenge once UCSC begins sessions as it becomes full of laptops, and as much i enjoy using mine, i wish they would have a laptop free area as some people with laptops will stay for hours taking up space for two, though usually you can find one in front or in the back outdoor patio area as there tend to not be laptops in these areas due to the lack of plugs and screen glare.

We’ve never had a bad cup here. Open late, kind staff, exceptional coffee. I highly recommend a late cup of hot chocolate on a cold drizzly night on the patio out front. Takes me right back to my childhood every time. But their iced coffees in the summer are my go-to now. All of the locations are wonderful, but this Lulu’s is something special.

They have whiskey latte! Bourbon is added but heated , no alcohol left only the taste! Pretty interesting drink and tastes amazing too. A must try for coffee people.

I love this place! It was one of the first businesses that reopened after the '89 earthquake. I was a UCSC student then. 8 now live in downtown Santa Cruz and it's a regular stop for me a couple of times a week. Good brew, nice breakfasts, great atmosphere. I hope they are able to reopen their dining area sometime.

I always get great service and communication from the delivery service Lulu's has launched during the pandemic. I can't tell you how many times they have saved my work day by delivering amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

Ok so I absolutely love coffee, I get it everywhere we go. This is the best coffee I have ever had! Sugar free hazelnut latte with macadamia nut milk, also fabulous customer service!

Were diverted here when the cafe we went to was closed. A great surprise! Had breakfast and coffee. The staff was friendly and efficient. He told me they Lao bake much if their goods in house. The breakfast biscuit and croissant were fantastic. Good strong coffee. There was seating outside.

Good coffee, good place to hangout, good cakes, good location. Consistently good. Hope they open up the rear seating area again.

I went there once and had some coffee drink with a pulled pork empanada. It was good so some other day I went there again—different drink, same empanada, and Max took my order. I liked it so much I got another one right away. Today I came there for a third time, and Max remembered what I ordered the previous time (I didn't!). I have no words to express what a nice experience it was and five stars are but a fraction of how many I'd like to give. Plus the empanada is criminally good, and the coffee a good match.

Extremely cool atmosphere. The kind of spot to get to early for a quick pick-me-up on a day trip. Extremely good coffee for the price. The place is near a lot of other food venues and attractions so definitely a place to visit.

This place is a staple of downtown Santa Cruz. When I lived here I went at least twice a week. Everything is good. The ambiance, the live music at night, the drinks, WiFi, food, service- it’s all great.

Some of my favorites are: the bowl of soul, a giant bowl of tea made with steamed soy milk and honey, dusted with cinnamon and their iced chicory cold brew coffee.

Best seat in the house is through the back door in the small garden area.

Amazing selection of coffees, teas, pastries, and lunch items. The coconut cream latte is absolutely divine. It's a great place to go if you're working on a computer, there are plenty of tables and the outside section in the back is beautiful and quiet most of the time. Get one of their punch cards if you go often enough, every eleventh cup is free!

Great coffee. Latte is my favourite. They make a latte with homemade egg nog in the fall/winter that sounds incredible. It does sell out quickly though. Very friendly staff and nice outdoor seating.
