What a hidden gem trail! Localed behind a business park outside of Scott's Valley - if you didn't know it was here you'd never go. But I promise it is worth it! Moderate trail with ups and downs, but dog-friendly and so beautiful. Highly recommend checking it out - wear hiking boots!

Beautiful place! Top tip - don't take the scary steep looking path thinking that's part of the loop. Go straight on and it's a much safer journey to the same place

Great little hiking trail to take your dogs or to get a good run in. Beautiful scenery and a nice shady microclimate.

Entrance at end of business parking lot, a bit odd. Dogs allowed. Narrow trail; not accessible for wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, etc. Quiet, wonderful nature sounds. Majority of trail shaded by forest.

Love this trail! A gem in the midst of a business park because you would never know once you start the trail.

Nice short trail, not too difficult. Went a few days after rain and had a great time looking at a huge variety of mushrooms!

First time in the area, passing through for business. Walked this trail and felt the stress leaving my body with every breath.

Park trailhead in parking lot of office building. Didn't walk too far up the trail today... Just checking it out on my lunch break

We went there today with the dogs. A good little hike, 20 minutes up, 20 minutes down.
Hard enough to get some exercise, but not too hard. Perfect to get your hike on in Scotts Valley right by the highway. There's a fire road at the top, so you can extend your hike longer if you want to..

Lucky to have this park in Scotts Valley. Good place to walk. Good exercise too since the trails all go up to the top of the nearby ridge. Many people including friends of mine like to take their dogs there. Trails are only for walking, no mountain bikes, etc.. The views are mostly of tall redwood trees. Due to these latter, there's no vista point in the park, even with all the elevation gain on the trails.

If you live in San Jose, this might be one of the closest hikes in redwoods you can get. Free parking and no entrance fee. I went with my 2 year old. She enjoyed it and was able to walk quite a bit, but held her hand tight- steep sides and some poison oak. Trail is nice and wide. Easily accessible, not far from freeway. We had a great time.

In the forest almost the whole way, good choice for a hot day and beautiful too. Never crowded and enough up & down to call it exercise. Parking at the trailhead. What more could you want? Note, it's slippery right after rain.

Serenity at its best during summer. Forest looks like a fairy tale spot. Small enough to complete the trek quickly.. But steep edges while walking.. Keep careful.

Short loop with an out and back if the loop isn't enough. Beautiful local old-growth hike for the weekends. Strange location behind businesses; I am envious of those lucky folks who work here and have access to this hike daily for lunch...

Parking: The parking lot is embedded in a building complex where Green Hills Cafe is. So I'd put the address for this cafe in your Google Maps/GPS to get to Lodato Park. The trailhead is adjacent to this parking lot and cul de sac that you enter the parking lot from. You can call the number listed on this Google marker if you have any questions about parking, like I did.

Hike: It's a nice, easy-to-follow loop where you'll encounter the redwoods soon after the trailhead and throughout the hike. There's lots of trees along the hike, so lots of shade, too.
