Tacos Moreno

Had the veggie tacos - I was expecting the same old fajita veggies and maybe beans that most restaurants have; but these were very good and fresh. Excellent dish and excellent portions (3 is kind of a lot of food...)

Also had a flour quesadilla which was great.

Will definitely come back.

Corn Quesadilla's rule! They look like fat tacos.

Seating is sparse during busy hours.

I have been eating here since 1983. I have never found tacos that are as good anywhere else. The Moreno family are wonderful to me and all of my family. We love this place. So do all of my friends. The salsa is clearly magic. Nobody has salsa like theirs.

Such a warm and inviting down to earth taqueria it's great place to go if you have handicap or children because the dining room is very spacious and the staff treat you like family l I just know they would have the patience for families I love there quesadillas with meat and beans personally you can see how clean they keep the place if I had gluten allergies I wouldn't worry at all about here yeah they just do such a good job love popping in here

A staple in Santa Cruz for anyone who loves a great taco or burrito. The Al pastor burrito at Tacos Moreno or the bean and cheese quesadilla will satisfy you and may make you go back and order another. Yes it’s that good!

Had the Burrito Supreme Al Pastor and it was hands-down the best! Loved the cabbage in it instead of soggy lettuce. The beans and the beans were cooked so well. Fresh! Fast! The salsa that's given on the side was delicious! Go here! To tick off the authentic Mexican burrito that you're looking for while in Santa Cruz.

Had a veggie burrito and a veggie quesadilla, great taste. My friends had the Al Pastor burrito and they loved it.

I have been going here for 35 years. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. The tastiest salsa and beans ever! My favorites are the regular asada burrito with cheese and corn quesadillas.

One of the very best burritos! Definitely get it grilled/dorado. And their salsa is outstanding! Tacos Moreno is the one place we always go to whenever we are in Santa Cruz.

A great neighborhood taqueria. I love their vegetarian tacos because the beans are whole. Probably one of the last affordable places in Santa Cruz.

Excellent food preparation was done by them, one of the tastiest food that I tasted in this town.

The Al pastor is pretty special. It’s crunchy and so flavorful in a way that’s different from any other taqueria in town. The salsa is also such a perfect blend of spicy and tangy it’s just the best. It might be the quickest service in town too. Every time I order a burrito I feel like it’s ready by the time I sit down.

I grew up on this food, never disappoints!

This place is on another level when compared to other taquerias in town. Their pastor has yet to be beat. The salsa has some kick unlike the watery corporate pablum found at other establishments. When they close for a few weeks during Christmas and New Year's the withdrawals are no joke.

If I had to say something unfavorable about the place my first thing would be more of a reflection on the economy rather than the establishment.
When I started to going there burritos were $3 and change. While still worth the cost, they're now over $10. What are you going to do? They get you hooked at a young age and your addicted for life.
The second issue I have is that you'll be completely disappointed by 99% of all other taquerias you visit. I often have to send friends in other states items from their menu. They must be doing something right if people are willing to pay for me to overnight meat and salsa to Ohio.
Lastly, we all can screw up on occasion. If you find your first meal not as fabulous as I claim it to be, give it one more try. I have yet to have a second bad experience in the 36yrs I've been going there.

Real, fresh Mexican food. I love that they don’t use rice it the burritos. So many places use rice as a filler, but Tacos Morenos are full of good food!

Been going here since they opened. Authentic Mexican food. Love the Alpastor and green chili beef. Corn Quesadillas are amazing. Chips are freshly made. Salsa is fantastic. Try it for yourself.

Very simple menu, quality ingredients, low key awesome family taqueria with a homey atmosphere. The salsa is the best in town. Burrito style has shredded cabbage, pinto beans, and no rice. Really good meats, especially the pork. They make really good chips too. Cash only.
