Such a phenomenal park! Plenty of open grass to duty on or run around on. Trails and redwoods surround the grass area and the children's play area. The donkies are wonderful and friendly 😃 Great for kids, families, dogs and relaxing!

Loved this trail. Very peaceful and well kept. Trail was clean and people were friendly (all while continuing to social distance) Beautiful trees as well.

Fun park with a long trail and a playground. The donkeys are so precious 🩷🐴. There's a water fountain but no restroom.

Great park with a bathroom and water fountains. Also contains a tranquil trail which leads to Gunn High School. There is also a donkey pen next to the aforementioned trail. Overall a great park for people of all ages.

Small and quiet but great for a quick walk. Dogs OK on leash. Playground for kids 2-5 has recent equipment. And of course there are the donkeys. Right now there are detours to get to the park due to water main work so plan out your visit. Construction is expected to go April 2022 to Oct 2022 per city signs.

One of my fave parks. Tucked away in a residential area, this park goes so far back, it could be a driving fairway. Lined by redwoods, with a shady picnic area along Matadero Creek, it's the perfect spot for family picnic or hike along its back trail. The bridge across the creek was built in 1933 and the donkey on the sign is there because it was a pasture for a few of them, many years ago.

Love this park. There is no shade and can tend to get hot when it is very sunny. No restrooms at this park. Great open space for running. There is a trail that you can take to meet the donkeys.

I feel obligated by my frequent repose at Bol Park to register some appreciation of the place. The play structure is tall and exciting. The fields are small, but enclaved by tall trees on both sides which give it an enchanted atmosphere. Venturing into the feeble creek on the west side yields the entrance to the drainage tunnels which is another adventure waiting to unfold. Bol is a humble glade essential to the palo alto experience.

Excellent place for summer creek exploration for toddlers and young preschoolers! Bring water shoes for you and your little one. Water was only 2-3 inches deep today so perfect for the very young ones. Saw two donkeys (heard that you can send letters to them by dropping at the mailbox in front of the barn), and quite a few noisy hens and a rooster. The bike path is popular and rather busy. The play structures are excellent but there was hardly any shade by noon.

Really nice park with a small kids playground! There is also a walking/bike trail right by the park that is paved. It passes by the Matedeor creek and is approximately 1 mile one way. There is also a donkey farm along the way😀

A gem of a park! Quite area, large green open spaces, plenty of shade and sun. Great for kids and families, and for everyone to walk around. The donkeys are also exciting to the kids.

Lovely neighborhood park ... with donkeys! (Down the bike path a ways from the playground). Perry, the younger of the two, was the model for Shrek. You can get down to Matadero creek from a little access slot, though be on the lookout for poison oak. There's none on the main path down to the creek, but kids that go scrambling around on the sides may get a surprise. Swings, slides - the usual playground equipment. Nice grassy area for soccer, and in good weather, the Barron Park Association holds festivals and movies on the occasional weekend.

I met my niece and her family at the kids play area. They went and met the donkey before I arrived. The kids were very excited when one of the donkies came over to introduce himself!

Great play structure. Ample shade (though not so much around the play structure). Nice bike path loop. Donkeys are always a hit!
