State of Mind Slice House

A restaurant with 4.8 stars on google? Its my mission to try every restaurant with more than 4.5 stars as long as they aren't fake reviews.

I came to State of Mind and had an epiphany. Pizza should be enjoyed by the slice. Never buy a whole pie. Each slice is creative, hot and fresh. The slices are about $5-7 each. They have the most interesting toppings. I can't remember the name of what I got, but the one with "micro greens" on it was fun to eat. They are like Pokemon, you have to try something different each time you go.

6 stars to d'Sean. We literally took 5 minutes asking about each pizza they offered. He happily explained it. He loves his work and it made the whole experience so much better.

If there was a ding, it was that their specialty branded soda was a bit flat and that they need some more shade for the outside seating. There are no table clothes or waiters. But the truth is that you won't care about that. You'll only be thinking about what slice you are going to get next time.

Our new favorite pizza place. We love the mushroom pizza and the potato one. Their pepperoni is good but on the spicier side for younger kids. There are limited seats available indoors so we usually buy slices to go.

Wonderful pizza! Most are round thin pizzas, while the square ones have deliberately thicker crust with twice-risen dough. Many hipster flavor combos but also the marinara and pepperoni you know and love. They also have craft sodas on tap and It’s-Its in the freezer for dessert. Indoor and outdoor seating on site. Fun vibes, easy in and out, lots of parking, have fun!

Nice pizza spot. You can get a slice or a whole pie. A nice selection to choice from.
Whole staff was friendly and helpful toward the customers and each other.

One of my favorite casual eatery spots. Easy to pick up but just as easy to enjoy a fresh made pie or a selection of their slices. Friendly great service and always delicious pizza. My favorite pizzeria in the peninsula.

We are regulars here, but pizza was exceptionally good today. El Blanco, Sweet 'n Heat, Heirloom Goat, Might as Well, Looks like Rain. Unbelievable crust.

Delicious pizza served as slices. Also the let have "garlic knots" (garlic bread rolls).

Yum! The first bit of the thin crust pepperoni and sausage immediately revealed the delicious
Pizza sauce flavor, freshly baked pizza dough, cheese and crisp. Best pizza I can remember! I also ordered the thicker square slice. The sauce has a bit more good tomato flavor, the crust remains crisp and tasty. Both slices I consider writing a review and recommending! Enjoy!

Very interesting name with some very interesting toppings on pizza. My favorite is the sweet heat, which adds honey to Jalapeño and some real thick bacon slices. A must try!

After stopping by on a whim and loving the food, we decided to use this spot to cater for our baby shower! The food was fantastic and a very diverse crowd of all ages and types of people thoroughly enjoyed the food. More than anything, I am grateful to Amy and her team for being so accommodating and flexible. Our event started at 11 and the order was sizable but without hesitation, she offered and ensured that the orders were ready on time (even though its before they open) and was kind enough to offer to deliver the food at our venue. Great food and service with a smile always leaves the heart and stomach full and content. Cannot recommend this spot enough :)

This place rocks!!! Pizza is consistently delicious, esp the crust texture (thin, crispy and a perfect chew). We love ordering whole pies and have recently gotten hooked on dropping by for a few slices. Haven’t had their salads yet but they sound just as tasty. They had a pizza with the most delicious collard greens and now I’m in love :)

I'm always on the hunt for a classic NY style pizza, and I have to say, for a pizza place in Palo Alto, it's already pretty darn good. I only wish the crust could be a bit crispier, but besides that the flavor + texture overall is fantastic. Pricing is fairly standard as far as Bay Area eats are concerned.

Had the heirloom slice and mushroom by the slice .. nice flavors, excellent crust, great cheese.
They have inside and outside seating. Really friendly servers.
Excellent beer on tap. 6 in all, you’re likely to find one you’ll like!

Best pizza I’ve had in the bay. Price per slice is reasonable with a decent amount of selections (square and standard). Employees are all super nice. Ranch and soda is fire. Fast casual dining atmosphere with outdoor seating.

I was set on loving this place before I even ate the food. Menu variety + incredibly good staff won me over immediately.

They were very attentive, accurately articulated wait times for certain pizzas, and made it fun before the first bite.

4 slices -- pepperoni, jalapeño/ bacon, soy chorizo, and the goat one. All very good for one vegetarian and one who eats anything.

I will return.

Best gluten free pizza in Palo Alto. Absolutely incredible, and I don’t say that lightly. They’ll make any pizza on their menu gluten free if you request and the crust is amazing. The huge ricotta dollops on some of their pizza selections compares to nowhere else.

Awesome pizza slice shop, nice to go here as the Los Altos branch is always packed. Great variety of slices, as they have the.standard pepperoni, sausage, jalapeño, etc. but always have creative slices they are adding. Pizza has good size and value, nice crisp, quality ingredients and balanced sauce.

Great pizza, def my new fav in NCAL. Tried the heat and sweet pizza, it was so delicious! Plenty of parking spots (there’s a dedicated parking lot). The only negative thing about this place is that the restroom is located outside and in the back, making it kinda dangerous to use especially at night.

Favorite low key pizza place. Lots of vegetarian options. This location does slices. Their crust is amazing. Good for small groups.

Excellent pizza and craft beers! State of Mind has a successful location in Los Altos and opened up this second spot more recently. They have taken over from another eatery, and while the outside hasn’t been touched, the inside is sparkly new and clean so don’t be deceived. It’s a small and cosy place that might easily be overlooked as you drive along El Camino but is worth the stop. The pizza is served either in slices or whole pizzas with thin base. Thicker base is available as squares. We had a slice of El Blanco, Seasonal Veggie and Heirloom Goat. All were awesome and reasonably priced too. We washed it down with some Russian River pliney on tap. Service was quick and friendly. Great meal!
