Day trip in Capitola, wanted good food, came here and was not disappointed! I wanted Cajun food because I'm going to New Orleans in a few weeks. The hardest part was deciding what to order, everything on the menu sounded amazing. Food was delicious, cute decor, and really nice service. Also, easy parking. This place is definitely worth a visit.

The chicken and sausage gumbo I had was absolutely delicious, and the serving time was outstanding. I would totally come back here again and try another menu item

Best Po’ Boy sandwich I’ve ever had. I got the fried oyster and the Jambalaya.
I came here because I’m vacationing with my dog and the BringFido app said they are dog friendly. The food is great and they’re people friendly, too. I highly recommend this place. Great New Orleans atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back if I find myself in this area again. Thanks for the great experience, Roux Dat!

Had a Groupon for a stew, tried the jambalaya which was delicious, very flavorful. I’ve only tried jambalaya once many years ago in Louisiana and it definitely reminded me of that wonderful trip! Also had the best green fried tomatoes I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Even my 3 year old who hates tomatoes loved them. I recommend and will be back.

The Alligator Po' Boy was very tasty and well seasoned, complete with Beer-battered Onion rings, the meal arrived on time and was Out Of This World! 🛸 A nice place to get affordable and time-honored Creole cuisine made with just the right spices. Well done! I appreciate your effort and dedication to incredibly delicious food made to order. 😎

What a treat! The owner made me a Crescent City Po Boy (half shrimp, half oysters) and a side of Maque Choux. My buddy got the Jambalaya. Gambini's bread, generous portions, jazz playing, they even have pralines!

Something for everyone here! This place is a new favorite spot. Full of flavor, made in house, fresh and tasty. Southern comfort food without too much guilt. Their Gumbos, Jambalaya, and Stews are heavenly. The best part, is that you can choose 2 different kinds on one plate. Parted by a bed of rice, adorned with a New Orleans version of garlic bread. It’s all so good.

Their po-boys are super on point. Shrimp is my husband’s favorite. Full of complexities in texture and bursting with cajun flavors. They have a nice variety of hot sauces to dip fries, fried pickles, or to add a kick to your food. My favorite is the ‘Slap Ya Mama’ hot sauce - it’s fire. Their fries are crispy, thin and delicious.

Dessert wise, their Beignets are made fresh to order. They come piping hot, served with a simple sugar icing to dip into. Or, you could try and fill one with the sugar icing, it just gets super messy in the end :) They come in a bag, about 5 per order.

They have a great seating space outside for when the weather permits. Inside, comfortably sit at the tables or along the bar table where you can view outside.

Very friendly employees. They offer excellent recommendations and descriptions. Definelty worth checking out. Prices are reasonable at $10.95 for stews and $12.50 for Po-BoysYou can get Bloody Mary’s, beer and wine here too!

Really nice food. Sightly expensive. Certainly worth a try. I got the alligator sandwich with crawfish& sausage stew. Nice flavors on the stew, and nice combo of flavors on sandwich. Solid.

I really enjoyed the food here! Wonderful flavor and just the right amount of spice. Not overly spicy to the point it's burning your mouth, instead compliments the food perfectly. I got an offer of bignets and jambalaya/gumbo.

It was my first time to having cajun food in my life. I appreciate to my friend that she brought me there. At the first time, the portion was small but after I ate half way, I was already full. It was bigger than I thought. Also, personally, I wish they are not only have the choice of rice (brown or white) but also choice of rice or bread. Because I love their garlic bread. I couldn't finish the rice but I finished the garlic bread eventho I was full. :)

I've been coming to this place fore years! Great food every time! So many things on the menu are delicious, you really can't go wrong. The owner is local an very nice, and makes sure the food is fresh. Will be coming back for sure. Nothing but good food and some real flavor. Pretty unique place in santa cruz

Really impressed. Authentic New Orleans food at very reasonable prices. We had their gumbo, fried green tomatoes, oyster po boy, jambalaya and shrimp and all were top quality. They have some tables outside in a pleasant mall plaza, as well as inside. I hope they open more restaurants!

We stopped in for a quick bite and I was thoroughly impressed with the menu. They offered simple meat choices, but also had alligator and some really unique pairing options. The sauce on every table is abosulerly amazing! I bought a bottle to go and use it more than butter:) if you are looking for a quick filling meal that may contain meat you have never had the opportunity to enjoy, stop in and try it out. I guarantee there is something here for everyone that can handle a little spice in their food!

Went there with my father in law and we were both very happy with our meals. We both had stews. He had Gumbo and I had the half and half with Chicken and Mushroom, and Spicy Black bean and Corn. It was all very delicious!

Love this place, but I don't recommend the jambalaya if you're looking for authentic Cajun food. It's a bit saltier than other flavors and is prepared more like a lazy gumbo than Jambalaya, meaning the rice is cooked separately. Some people do like that, but I much prefer a less soupy jambalaya.

Otherwise, this place is awesome. Red beans/rice is authentic, as is the gumbo. Don't bother with beignets if you want authentic - they're never the same outside Cafe Du Monde. But if you want a sweet treat, they suffice. Haven't tried the pralines, but they look pretty good - just a bit cloudier than I'm used to, but that could be the climate differences for all I know.

Abita. Oh my goddess, Abita. They have Abita root beer and Abita beers too. Sooooo good. Doesn't get much more authentic than sweet Abita root beer with pure New Orleans cane sugar to sip on after you cover your red beans in Louisiana Hot Sauce! Haha. SO GOOD!

Yes, I it could use some improvements, but I give 5 stars because of how utterly grateful I am to be able to have authentic Cajun food right here in Santa Cruz. Puts me in a kid state of mind. 😂

EVERY TIME I go to Santa Cruz I MUST have Roux Dat!! It is unexplainably delicious, I am salivating as I write this. I always get the Jambalaya with white rice and the order comes with 2 slices of bread. My fiance is always trying to steal my bread so make sure you protect yours 😜 it's not always spicy but when it is, it's the kick I didn't know I needed.

Outstanding. I had the red beans and sausage with rice. Very much like I had in New Orleans. Definitely going back to try more. Very reasonable prices also.
