The best taqueria in Santa Cruz! Big portions, big menu, super fresh ingredients, and authentic flavors. Great salsa bar. Outdoor patio bench seating. Also has is a Mexican market.

Tasty tasty! I drive by this place a few times a day since it is very close to home. I have been wanting to stop and see what they carry in the market and try out a breakfast burrito or some lunch.

I finally stopped by this morning on my way home and got a breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes, cheese and bacon for some mild salsa on the side, and it was delicious! I love when the burritos are slightly browned in spots from warming them on the fire. So good, I will definitely come back for lunch and try something new next time! Check them out, and they also have a second location in downtown Santa Cruz near the town clock.

One last thing! They are a small market and have some good little treats. They also carry a Santa Cruz staple - Marianne’s Ice Cream.

The burritos are huge! And the enchiladas were great as well.

Small market with produce and Mexican products. In the back a nice kitchen that cooks up some great Mexican Food to go.

my favorite is the Al Pastor Pericos Burrito. It's awesome.

Nice little market with a delicious taqueria inside. I got the Jumbo breakfast burrito which had really good flavor and the ingredients were well dispersed. The tomatillo salsa was really nice and the avocado salsa had a nice heat to it without being too overwhelming.

It’s a grab n go spot - no frills but so delicious the few times I had it. First ordered off of doordash on a whim but ended up being such a good find, I’ve come back and also introduced to others. I’ve gotten the burritos pericos style mostly and it hits every time. So glad we found it! Would recommend as the perfect post beach or beach food.

Had the ham breakfast burrito. It was huge. I ate half and am stuffed and it was delicious!

This place has baller tacos and burritos. The inside also has a nice revamp and feels more open. Also, they take a card and the staff are very friendly. Most impactful is that the food is surprisingly very good!

Others on here are complaining about the new ownership and must be used to the previous establishment. From my view the change is very welcome. The previous owners created an unfriendly atmosphere, snobby staff; and a cash only policy that kept me away. So glad to see this place has changed hands and that the new owners have turned it into a more welcoming place.

My new favorite taqueria. Tortillas were so fresh, everything was super tasty. Get your burritos and shop their mini market at the same time. They have a huge variety of drinks, Marianne's ice cream, snacks, etc. Vallarta has been falling in the rankings of my personal fave for the past 2 decades. Was glad this is on my way home when the traffic is bad!

Delicious food! I love their carnitas. So happy they opened a location on the east side. Nice little outdoor seating area and enough snacks for a perfect beach day!

Well, my family LOVES the Point Market, so we sort of knew we'd also LOVE the Black Point Market! The people who own and run these establishments are so friendly and there are so many awesome things to choose from at this market, both from their menu and from the products they sell there. You can never go wrong with The Barrel breakfast burrito! It is delicious and jam packed with the yummiest ingredients! Having the potatoes in there, along with the huge chunks of avocado, makes this gal happy! You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu, in my opinion. We will always make this one of our stops when we are visiting Santa Cruz!

Good service and fast. Definitely the best Mexican food that I tried in the whole area!

Black Point Market may look like your average neighborhood corner store, however it is anything but! They have the most amazing eats and sips in Santa Cruz...from breakfast-lunch-dinner and free coffee on Fridays too. We wandered in on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted with a warm welcome by Sasha the owner and the incredible aroma of grilled pressed sandwiches and fresh cookies being baked. There is good and then there is great…and this place is the later. Everything is made with love and locally sourced ingredients. I have tried every sandwich on the menu some twice (cuban) and the secret menu…add ago and bacon to your turkey melt…to die for! What makes this place so good is the excellent service, attention to quality ingredients and all order to please you. If you are a local or visiting find this place…you will not be disappointed. PS…they love furry friends too!

The food's always great here. It's also nice that you can pickup ice cream or drinks with your order too if you want. Never be shy asking for salsa with your food too.

Note: this is not a fancy place, but it has a good selection of beers and essentials (I needed Tajin) that a good market should have.

Inside, the market has a taqueria with a variety of options. I got ceviche. I had also gotten ceviche from The Fish Lady in Capitola that day, and I ate them side by side in a taste test. The cheaper and more abundant ceviche from Los Pericos was far superior. It had the requisite lime flavor associated with ceviche and that broken down seafood texture of something that had been "cooked" in lime. Plus, the balance of seafood and cilantro, onion, and tomato was perfect, making it a perfect compliment to Tapatío, or some other hot sauce.

The people were friendly and had that typical Santa Cruz vibe that you'd expect from a neighborhood market like this.

Can't wait to eat there again.
