I love this place because there are lots of locals, and they're always friendly. I've been there enough times now that some of the waiters recognize me.
It's not the place to go if you want fast service, and to me that's a plus because you won't feel hurried. They have a sunny patio where you can bring your dog, and yes, 99 kinds of beer (maybe more).
Sometimes they have trivia night, which is loud and fun. Their lunch specials are the best--you can get half a sandwich and a salad and it won't break the bank.

99 bottles is an awesome place to grab 1 or 100+ kinds of beer they offer. They have an extensive menu and it's ALL good. Friendly staff, and environment. Don't miss out on Tuesday night pint night!

Great selection of beers, definitely more than 99. Lots of them on tap but some only come in a bottle. Live music there is awesome but a but loud. trivia night is the bomb with lots of participants and lots od great prizes.

This place is great! Lots of good food, friendly folks, and an enormous beer selection. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Santa Cruz!

What a fun place to enjoy some beer. There is literally 99 beers to try. Make sure you ask for the beer card. If you try all 99, you get a plaque on the wall. If you do it twice you get a brick on the wall.

They're not joking about having 99 different beers. Come drink all 99 to get your own plaque on the wall! The staff is friendly and the food is great. Prices are reasonable.

Great little gathering place. We always stop when visiting our daughter at UCSC. Good food and great selection of beers. Outdoor seating and puppies are welcome too. I have noticed what appears to be locals, but I think the majority of customers are tourists or parents. Haven’t been there at night to speak of the evening crowd. Service has always been very good.

Been going here forever. I remembered what it was like back in my UCSC days, came back recently out of nostalgia, and although it's a little different, not much has changed (unlike a lot of Santa Cruz these days). 99 Bottles of Beer still has an amazing variety of beers to choose from, including many on tap. Reasonably priced, especially during happy hour, and service was attentive without being in your space. Good atmosphere, just not for the "bougie." Recommended!

Best place to have a beer in Santa Cruz. They have a great selection and they offer great recommendations. All the staff is really friendly. They have a list of 99 beers (although there is more on the full menu), if you try them all you get your name on the wall. It is always fun to come here and grab a quick drink. The food is good. Overall it is a great bar. It gets crowded during the weekend, but what good bar doesn't? Next time you are in Santa Cruz check out 99 Bottles of beer on the wall.

My boyfriend and I came here back in October 2015 for the first time (were from the Sacramento area) and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this place! The food was good, but the atmosphere really was just spectacular. We sat outdoors in the sunshine and it was an amazing time with quick service, tasty food and decent prices. The scenery was perfect and the restaurant sits in a great location. We plan on coming here again on our next visit to Santa Cruz.

One of the few places downtown with patio seating and a southern exposure. A great spot to end a group ride where you can sit outside and keep an eye on your bikes. Consistently good food, large menu, healthy ingredients and good service. Every style of beer imagineable with lots of local and speciality brews. Plenty of tables inside to watch the game or hang out. Part of the soul of Santa Cruz.

Great place to grab a beer, chat with people who love beer, grab some tasty food. They serve one of the best burgers I've ever had - I say this because it is a juicy burger with lots of flavor. My favorite is getting the bacon cheeseburger, but subbing bleu cheese onto it. Can't go wrong!

Love this place. Try to meet the owners. Also Andrew is a great bartender. I highly recommend the hamburgers and waffle fries. My favorite meal there is the creamy pesto fettuccine with chicken.

Funky bar with many great beers on tap and bottles. California Burger was great and the Brisket Sliders the guy next to me was having looked good as well. Waffle fries were nicely seasoned. The crowd is a mix of old die hard hippies new piercied and tattooed generation, so highly entertaining.
Now parking is a huge nightmare and wondering too deep of the main road is highly risky as the never ending amount of homeless people and just dark alleys are not where i would wslk my date, family or just me. Shame on the city for not protecting their merchants from these problem. However i strongly urge you not to miss this place just be aware of your surroundings. One last rant meters that only take coins and change machines that simply do not work. Thankfully free parking after 8pm

They were extremely friendly and accommodating to our large dog who was with us. It was a very welcome experience after being turned away from a nearby restaurant.
On another note, the burgers and criss cut French fries are quite tasty.

Tasty food, large selection of beers, friendly environment, the staff is helpful and friendly. The place offers the 99 bottles challenge, which is a card to keep track of different beers consumed, and those that fill the card get their name in a plaque in the wall and a t-shirt. Also make sure to check the restroom. They handle graffiti by providing a board and chalk.

Great selection of beers, in a chill atmosphere. Several tables outside if you have a dog too! Pretty big menu, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something to pair with the delicious beer!

Great pub food, with gourmet burgers at a reasonable price. Good for large groups but make sure to call and reserve tables for for larger groups. Huge selection of beers. Restrooms advocate graffiti buy supplying chalk to write on the chalkboard walls.
