Asador Del Sur

Great food. Accidentally forgot one of our dishes and had to cook it. A bit pricey. The brought a little piece of chocolate cake for our birthday guest.

What a hidden gem this place was. We had the best steak dinner and the staff were so friendly. I got a skirt steak, which is usually a pretty rough cut of meat…but they made it perfect and tender. Would absolutely go again.

It’s always great to find a restaurant that is just excellent in every way 😊- and Asador Del Sur is that! The service was friendly and prompt, the decor is well done and the food was nothing short of excellent - from the empanadas to the flourless chocolate cake. Even the beans and rice was worth the visit. I am looking forward to going back and trying more dishes!!

Went here tonight as a delayed Valentines. The atmosphere was super cozy. The place smelled amazing. The cocktails were delicious and they had options not on menus at other restaurants. The food was also amazing. I had the short ribs and my fiance had the Mahi Mahi. Fantastic and light on the stomach for him. I devoured the sweet potato fries and loved the sauce they gave with the short ribs. The service was top notch, all of the employees were polite, attentive, and came with the brightest smiles. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great date night.

One of the best places to eat in the entire state. Great amount of Vegan and vegetarian options too! Our server Jennifer was really awesome :)

The meats were succulent and flavorful! I'm obsessed with their lamb chops and the pork chop is worth the $$! The desserts were also super tasty.

We stopped in here as part of the Maplewood coffee crawl and so glad we did! They were SO nice and encouraged us to try try an empanada which was DELICIOUS! We were so glad to hear they do a brunch (always on the lookout for a good brunch place) so we decided to check it out. Food was incredible and the staff are some of the nicest, most polite and accommodating people we’ve come across in a long time. Definitely gonna come back for dinner soon.

A gem in Maplewood. This location has been a lot of different things, but hopefully this is here to stay. Went with a party of 4, diverse menu with some classics and some unique dishes. I got the grilled octopus and it was outstanding. Personally I think the seafood dishes looked the best, but no one was disappointed with their meal. Small, quiet, and outstanding service.

I have been wanting to try this place since it opened but have not had the time. Wife and I went for lunch today and wow it was unbelievably good. The empanadas were unreal. The rice and beans were some of the best I have ever had and the skirt steak was some of the best steak I have ever had (especially with the chimichuri). I am half Ecuadorian and was super excited to get to a South American restaurant. Highly recommend eating here and we will be frequenting this place going forward.

We celebrated a family birthday and was delighted with our meal and the service provided. All dishes ordered were very tasty. I had the vegan plate and all veggies were well prepared. We were happy with our timing because part if the evening, we were their only table. It is small and I would recommend reservations. We will definitely go back.

This was an accidental find but will be a regular spot in the future. The space is inviting, comfortable and well kept and the staff is excellent. I can't say enough about the food. The lobster bisque probably best I've ever had. My entrée was Langostino with potatoes and chimichurri sauce. My dining partner had 2 appetizers, chorizo and blood sausage. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We ended with a flan in a unique caramel sauce with a hint of cinnamon. Best meal out I've had in a long time and prices are very reasonable.

Absolutely delicious. Great wine menu too! Our server was so so nice and really made the experience enjoyable. We split a couple different things and were very happy with everything. It was very bustling, which is our style, so we also enjoyed the people watching and knowing we were at a restaurant people enjoyed.

My friend and I had the pleasure of being the only ones upstairs. The food was amazing! The service was amazing! The atmosphere was amazing! Did I mention the food was amazing! Definitely a jewel in the St. Louis area.

Mother and son team were absolutely on top of everything in front of house. Cocktails were amazing, and the food was top notch. Food was some of the best south american food I've had in my life. Clearly, everyone involved is very passionate about what they have to offer and yet kind and inviting in every aspect. This is the type of family owned place that just feels warm and inviting, puts a smile on your face and makes you feel warm and welcome. Can't wait to come back.

We've been visiting this lovely spot since they opened and it's been a treat yo see the menu expand over that time. The empanadas have fortunately remained a deliciously consistent beginning to our visits. Most recently my partner and I shared a magnificent bowl of various treats from the sea including squid, mussels, and mahi-mahi, as seen in the pics. Doesn't look like it's on the permanent menu and I can't recall the name but after eating my way around their menu over the last year or two I suggest you order anything that speaks to you; you can do so with confidence.

Asador del Sur has been in my sights for a while now, and getting a spot on the STL Top 100 cemented a visit. Pretty sure reservations are typically encouraged here, but strolling in at 430 we had no problem being seated. The decor is nice and not overly loud or flashy in any direction, pretty simple.

Service was extremely friendly and attentive, waters brought quickly and drink orders taken. Started off with a Levanta Muertos, a very light and refreshing drink. The beef and olive empanadas were delivered quickly, and were amazing with the sauce. The Lobster Salad was pricey, but very well worth the cost!! Polished it all off with a Spicy Margarita. Very highly recommend!

Awesome South American cuisine. Friendly owners and staff. Delicious food... empanadas, flank steak (the best ever), patacones, vegan butternut squash soup,etc. Large upstairs for social distancing. Great cocktails.

Excellent place! We had authentic argentinian and Ecuadorian food. It was delicious! Mauricio took care of our table, his service was excellent. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this restaurant.

This place was amazing. I went for a birthday dinner for a friend and they catered to all 10 of us well. I tried a range of items; Entranta Skirt steak, Chimichurri chicken thigh, sausage appetizer, baby squid and Homemade patacones - shrimp. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The steak was huge and cooked well. Can’t wait to return.
