When I walked in I saw an extremely clean store. I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. The two gentlemen at the counter immediately started looking and could not find the part in stock which is a really hard part to find. They checked their catalog which had many things close to it but no go. There were many things I was impressed with including personalized service and I could see that the associate genuinely liked what he was doing. The store appears small from the outside but when you walk in you see well stocked shelves very neatly organized and a great variety of items as well.
When I make it back up to Brentwood I will stop in because of the nice impression the gentleman made. It is a store You shouldn't pass up. Check it out and see if they can help you. I would like to thank you guys for an awesome experience.

Great small hardware store with lots of great finds. And they have the cheapest bird seed you'll likely find in town. They are always very helpful and ready to answer any questions too. Great local place, and much better than the big box stores.

I lost the car key to my client’s older model vehicle. This was the only place I found in town that could make a duplicate key on the spot. Otherwise, I would’ve had to do the online thing… Service was fast and courteous.

Great local hardware store. They can fix and make screens, cut keys(including cutting and programming car keys). They have everything you need without having to run into the large box shops! Grab nearby lunch while in the area too!

I absolutely love this small town feel the lovely man at the front counter was so nice everything is clean and well labeled and very nicely priced. Will definitely be back.

I needed a reducing coupling for round duct - they had four options, one was the one I needed! Staff told me exactly where to find it. I probably saved an hour by hitting the neighborhood hardware store, rather than going all the way to the Big Box!

Great old-timey hardware store in the heart of Maplewood. From the outside, it doesn't look like there would be room for much, but the selection is great. Skip the big box stores and go with your local shop, when possible!

Sheidt manages to have just about anything you need while preserving the atmosphere of a very old (100+ years) hardware store. The owners are from prior lives in the in renovation. That is, they are happy to provide informed answers. They are one of the few places that still provide screen repair.

Yeah that place is right across the street from schnucks in Maplewood and has been there for probably a hundred years I remember going there since I was a kid and if you ever want to visit a very old hardware store that has a lot of heritage as far as like the counter and the woodwork that's the place to go enterprises are very competitive and they're very good as far as being a local non-corporate hardware store nothing but good things

I went to pick up some ice melter that I had bought last year. I was happy to find that they had it in stock. I also was look for some small hardware parts. They have a very large selection of hardware item. I found exactly what I needed.

I have a 1981 VW and no one else in the city could make me a spare key! But I came in on a hunch and the people at Scheidt could! I had 2 copies made and now I dont have to worry (I also picked up some bird food)
They were so nice and friendly! A+
