Downey Community Park

Love spending time here with my dog. Started using tennis courts.

I took my dog here for a little picnic at the park and I met a super-chill girl, we enjoyed a sandwich and Mac salad together and played with my dog for a couple of hours. I hope we get to see each other again soon and maybe I can actually ask her out on a date with just us. Overall I was very pleased with the whole place. Lots of space and actually a fairly clean and inviting atmosphere.

Great place to just relax and stay cool.

Great, low traffic, peaceful park. Smaller than some, not a big play structure, but a well maintained baseball field, very nice grassy areas, and probably the most available tennis courts in Modesto, and best of all the city just fixed them up! New paint, cleaned up trash, and fixed nets! I think it's great they paid it some much needed attention! Thank you!

It's a big park that is fairly quite, I like the grassy hills.There are 2 playgrounds & tennis courts, and a area with tables & barbecues. The bathrooms are closed work in progress. Update the restrooms are almost complete but still not open.😬😖

So I was dropping off my wife for work at the hospital where she works and in the parking lot where I drop her off there was a Lunar Space Module. Wait What?!Yup , there was a real lunar module there. Right outside the hospital. I've spent some time in Downey and you can see some hints of what was here before. There is a small icon or thumbnail of a space shuttle on "challenger way" or the plaques of space mile stones located in the shopping center nearby.Did anyone else know that this place is the best $5 you can spend in this town? (other than inside a Portos?)

Grew up in this neighborhood even went to John Muir elementary School also went to Downey high School breifly. But I have noticed that there are homeless people there at Downey park. This neighborhood has been through so many changes let's just hope that the changes don't get worse be safe at night ....

Saw two homeless people give each other the covid vaccine thank God we are staying safe 🙏

Nice parks need new lighting

It's a clean park and has built in bbq grills. Had a great time.

Well I layed down by the bathrooms and watched a girl dance in her underwear. Great park. I think I'll go back tonight

Went there to meet a new friend but he was a no show . oh well, there will be others.
