This is the only place I will take my beloved pets. Dr Kahler is a superhero. He saved my bird's life twice. The staff is kind and friendly . I feel safe knowing Veterinary Medical Associates is just a phone call away.

Great people who are knowledgeable, thorough and really care. They saved my bird's life back in 2021. And they just fixed my dog up yesterday when she needed emergency surgery.
Vets aren't cheap, and you have to pay in order to get services, however Veterinary Medical Associates are comparatively reasonable with their prices and extremely fair. But most importantly, they are adept AND caring. The doctors and nurses take the time to listen, are thorough in their exam, and I've never felt rushed or neglected. Thank you guys so much!

After several moves across the country, I have had the opportunity to experience a variety of vets. I always look for AAHA accreditation and this was one of the very few in my area. We have had routine visits, a bout of kennel cough, and most recently a new visit with our very anxious rescue pup. With our older dog, they always treat her as if she were their own. They hear my concerns and provided the information and cost I needed to make the best informed decisions for her health. With this fearful, anxious little guy they not only put me at ease, but worked with him. I never could have imagined that a dog that typically lunges and barks when frightened could have such a calm, nonreactive experience like this. We look forward to seeing you for his follow up in a few weeks and I am not worried about it at all this time!

Dr Hilary Wert was gentle and thorough in her care and compassion as she handled and took care of my 9 yr old pup.. who was shaking tremendously the entire time. I would definitely recommend her.

VMA Modesto saved my bunny rabbit's life. Special shout-out to Dr. Hilary Wert and Angelika Pe for helping her get through her potentially fatal intestinal blockage. She stopped eating or drinking for almost an entire day, a huge red flag for rabbits. Dr. Wert was super kind and explained what was potentially going on, detected the bloated central cavity, and moved quickly to administer care. 3 years later our bunny is still doing zoomies every morning awaiting her breakfast fresh veggies and lies at our feet as we watch TV. Very good experience.. took my Eclectus Parrot for a beak and nail trim and it went without a hitch. The staff and doctor are both very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back when the need comes. Thank you...

Hands down the best vet clinic I've gone to. The staff and overall ambience of everything is so welcoming. They are so kind and understanding. I highly recommend them for all your pet needs.

I love VMA! From the front office staff, to the vet techs, to the veterinarians - we feel cared for and listened to all the time. They take great care of our rabbits!

My almost 14 y/o E.S.A. dog, Gomer, had a mild case of kennel-cough, so we went to see Dr Wert. Dr Wert has been Gomers PCP for many years. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, Trustworthy! Gomer is with me 24 hrs/day and if I had t o leave him there, I know that he would receive the best care possible! We lost our guiena pig Star. The staff did a awesome job but it was not to be. The staff helped us make decisions and gave us time to say our goodbye. They are awesome.

I'm grateful and bless by the doctors and faculty for all of there efforts in trying to save our beloved bird. Dr. Hilary Wert is awesome thank you for all of your efforts. But it's with great sadness that our beloved pet bird Alaska didn't make it. He was a recuse that has a rough beginning. It took some time but he slowly trusted us. We truly loved him, enjoyed his singing of the "Andy Griffith Theme song", and his best buddy was Samuel. In 2018 Alaska owner Christina won 2nd place with her artwork of Alaska and Samuel. Currently her artwork hangs in VCA Old River Animal Hospital in one of the exam rooms in Tracy, ca. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Best veterinary experience I’ve ever had. From the front desk, to the assistants, to the doctors, their care and passion is apparent. I’ve taken my cat in several times to see Dr. Wert, sometimes routine and sometimes emergencies, and they’ve all always made me feel he’s in the best care possible. Even called on a weekend just to ask how the recovery was going! (Who does that?!) Their cost is also incredibly reasonable and transparent from the start. Ive gone to 2 other veterinary hospitals in the area and while they weren’t bad experiences, they pale in comparison to the exceptional care that Veterinary Medical Associates provide. Highest recommendation I could give for a business!

Mindy had a good experience at VMA with the technicians and Dr. Kahler. She needs to return for a surgery. We are sure that she will have good treatment for this event.

I have been taking my dogs to VMA for 7 years since I moved to the area. Dr. Wert and Dr. Kahler and their staff are fantastic..very attentive, quick to please. There have been some hiccups but with any business, sometimes you have to be persistent when you need an answer.

Always so kind. Love love both the doctors here. Knowledgeable and sincere. Front office and vet techs are always smiling and caring, great place for your pet! Plus they see exotic pets!

I have always had the best experience with the vets and staff at VMA. They show genuine care for all my critters, from the dog and cat to the rats and reptiles.

The wait time was a bit long, but i may have gotten there a little early. The veterinarian was great, and the other employees were very kind and helpful. The doctor explained everything in a way that I could easily understand and was very gentle with my cat. They even helped carry my pet/crate out to my car because I had an injury to my wrist, and it was in a brace. I recommend this business.

Our hamster's 🐹 new veterinarian. Linguine is almost 2 years old and fell ill. She needed senior hamster level care and got it here. We checked her in, and they promptly brought her back, did a full exam, and came back with a very reasonable plan and estimate. She was diagnosed with eye infections and pneumonia. She was prescribed medications, and they've been easy to give. She's home now and is improving. We're very thankful to find a veterinarian who is exceptionally good and who happens to also be a veterinarian who sees exotics such as hamsters. She saved our littlest furbaby's life. We're forever grateful. ♥

I have brought our pets here for many years. They have always been treated with kindness and compassion by the entire team, and I trust their expertise. When our elderly dog required being put to sleep, we were welcomed to be in the room, Dr. Kahler joined our prayers as our dog passed, and helped us in our sorrow. These folks aren't 'just doing a job'. They are here for the well-being of the pet patients and their families. I trust no one else with our four footed family members.

I have gone to a few other vets in the area and haven't had a genuinely good experience. Either I can't even go into the office with my dog (meaning I've never met the vet and can't ask any questions), or it's like a production line treatment where they give injections and send home with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory and a vet may come out to tell you generally what's going on. My dog has tons of allergies and has been fighting chronic ear infections and I've been given the same antibiotic + anti-inflammatory treatment every time with it never really dealing with whatever the underlying issue was. My previous vet finally told me to just go see a specialist for a double ear canal ablasion surgery (extremely invasive and incredibly expensive). I do, and the surgeon suggests I see a dermatologist to see if there's any other treatment available, for the dog's sake. I find Veterinary Medical Associates online and give it a try. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I go into a room where Dr. Jeff introduces himself to me and immediately I am getting more answers and reassurance and an ACTUAL treatment plan than I EVER have in our countless trips to the vet. I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel for my dog. If you're searching for a good vet, you found it.
