My parents used to come here all the time back in the 80’s before they moved away. My dad recommended this place to me and we finally got to give it a shot. It feels like you’re in an 80’s time bubble, nice a clean too. Staff was very nice and do their job well. Thank you for the delicious hot chicken breast pesto sandwich on this cold rainy day and a moment back in time! Will definitely be coming back regularly!!

Came into Modesto early enough for a quick lunch, and The Sandwich Shop was set in my sights and all I needed to do was squeeze the trigger, so I did. Among other things I had to see this guy about some antique lamp shades from Papua New Guinea that are made from tattooed tribesmen, he's parting with them because they give his new wife the Higglywigglies.
Man-O-Man my sandwich was so good I had to get another just to verify the greatness of the first one.

Fresh and delicious. If you want plenty of meat and fresh produce, this place is for you. I enjoy the Modesto Special Pastrami, hot pastrami, ham sandwich, and have enjoyed the soups. My husband's favorite is hot corned beef and also has enjoyed their lasagna special. We often stop by on our way out of town road trips. I get a sandwich, eat half for lunch and put the other half in the ice chest and eat it for dinner. They are that filling!

What a truly amazing hidden gem!! The sandwich I ordered was a mouthwatering delight in every way! I had a hot roast beef sandwich with American and jack cheese. I ordered a full bowl of the Red Pepper Gouda Soup. I savored every spoonful. For my beverage, I had a large root beer. The portions here are generous in size. Everyone here is friendly and helpful.

Very fun sandwich shop with great food! I got the turkey and Swiss on a wheat roll. Service was friendly and professional.

Absolutely a FIVE STAR French Dip!!! Meat was super juicy and fall apart in your mouth. Super friendly staff and we will be coming back. My favorite sandwich shop in Modesto!

I've been coming here for over ten years and the sandwhiches are still super delicious! Giant portions and it all around has the bests sandwiches i have ever tried. And I'm a sandwhich guy. Love this little shop. Clean and very nice staff. Could get crowded during lunch rush. Reasonable price too! Located right off the 99. Will always be one of my favorite spots.

My favorite Sandwich place; this place is great . I don't live in the area anymore and every time that I am in the area I have to come here. It gets very busy and packed during lunch hour. That's why it's better to call ahead . The sandwiches are fully stacked and at a very good price. The price is great too. Around $9 or so depends on the sandwich. Definitely recommend 👌🏻 And the staff is always very nice and you get a great service aswell.

Best place ever for a sandwich ...even thei daily specials like lasagna with a salad and garlic bread. I highly recommend!!

I don't have any photos or videos for this place this time but the day I do go back to the sandwich shop of Modesto I will be sure to share with you. My personal favorite item if not on the menu I am sure they can just make it for ya anyways was the one pound BLT with mayo and mustard on lightly toasted white sliced bread. Mmmm mm yah. Thank you to the sandwich shop for that ever lasting impression. It'll never be completely forgotten. As well it's been a bit of time since I have been out that way so forgive me if i am wrong, you can play pool before durrin and after your sandwich. That to me is everything. Thanks to my readers. Great tasting, fresh sandwiches. Daily soups also! A nice little cozy place. I don't know why previous reviews didn't like the "rude" employees because I have had no issues in numerous visits. They were actually very helpful and patient. Go give them a try!

One of the best places in Modesto to grab a sandwich! The sandwich shop has been around for many years and they have just about any kind of sandwich you could want. You pay for what you get - their mile high meats are never skimped on, and the toppings are fresh. These employees have sandwich making down to an art. The owner should keep these ladies well paid as they keep their customers happy and coming back. There is indoor seating, no outdoor seating though. Parking may be had to find, but just remember you can park on either side of the building. Lunchtime can be a little bit of a wait, so I highly recommend you place your order ahead of time.

Omg best BLT I’ve ever had. I’m very picking about my sandwiches but my hubby said this to place was amazing. So I got a BLT. MMMMMM the bacon is so crispy, the bread is so soft. Fresh lettuce. Huge portion size. I’m in love with this place. I’ll definitely return.

The BEST ! sandwich shop around. If you haven't been there yet I will guarantee you will love it. Sandwiches are so big that I can only eat a 1\2 and save 1\2 for later. Soup and Chile are great too.👍👍I had the Club on a Dutch crust roll YUM!

Sandwich shop is amazing. Sandwiches are packed full with me and all the trimmings definitely worth it. Facilities are little worn. Can use some updating but it's very basic. It's always busy during lunch time. Call ahead in order makes things a lot easier.

Soooo yummy! The amount of food you get is worth the price. Doesn't compare to your average chain shops like subway or togos. I got the club, and wasn't expecting so much food!

Sandwiches are to die for best I have ever had. Some times the service can stand to change the way the speaker to customers but all opinions set aside I would recommend it to all of Modesto totally amazing!!! YUMMY 🤤
