Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop - Modesto, CA

My first experience of the sandwich shop Mr. Pickles went really well, upon walking into the store it had a cool theme of black and white tiles with their mascot in various different places it just felt like a nice place to be to eat. It makes you want to sit down and enjoy.

I ordered a Chicken Ranch Sandwich (see picture) and it came with a decent quantity of chicken and a soft amount of ranch dressing and some cheese. It was really good to my tastes and it got me pretty full from a small sandwich! It will definitely be my next order.

The bad things about Mr. Pickles is they are overpriced, my sandwich cost almost $9.00 and that does not include a drink or chips, and the sandwich was definitely not a foot long either. The place was very loud and crowded and there was definitely not enough seats to sit everyone.

Besides the negatives above - This establishment is a great place, I cannot visit here regularly due to the prices, but when I can afford it I'm sure it will always be good! When you get your bag check it for your dessert they include with your sandwich. 4.5/5

I've only ever had the hot pastrami on "Dutch crunch" bread. It's great. Basically the highlight of the place is that Dutch crunch bread. It's a medium firm bread with an extra crunchy crust (see photo). Adding that bread and getting "everything" on the sandwich definitely creates a signature meal, not just another everyday sandwich. So definitely try it out.
The place itself is a tiny storefront with minimal provisions to dine in, so you probably won't want to eat there and definitely won't want to stay at all if you have a group over 4 people. There's generally a line crowding the interior... So yeah, take it to go if you have any type of group.
Prices are not terrible for what you get. You'll end up paying $10 for a full size sandwich which will be good enough for one meal. Some people can get two full meals out of one but that's not me. So if you're an eater at all, you're getting one $10 meal.
The service is fine. I've never waited more than a few minutes to get a hot sandwich. The pace in the place is quick so figure out what you want and just order it. Don't be the problem person cramping up the line with some crazy custom order 😂
Plenty of parking in that shopping center. Overall good place. Always a place to hit while in Modesto.

They are so friendly. Everyone there wished me a happy birthday even tho they didn't know me. I felt loved. The sandwiches are yummy. Try the Dutch crunch bread. Delicious 😋 free cookie with sandwich too.

Always the best sandwiches in town. You can still ask for the items from the old menu and they know exactly what your talking about. Fast and friendly service. The owner is awesome. He always makes my husband feel welcome and remembers his name.

I love the dutch crunch bread here! It makes the sandwich premium. The pickle and cookie on the side is a great touch. Everytime I eat here I am pleased with the quality and quantity of food I get for the affordable price. The menu is full and has plenty of variety.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and laid back. The bathrooms were very clean.

This isn't a sandwich shop. It is a sandwich experience. If you hate amazing sandwiches, crafted with a high degree of precision and care, and held to a higher standard, then definitely don't come here. Also, Eric runs the business and Eric is awesome (free sandwich for the advertising please, Eric!)

It taste great! Cookies are A1! Chip selection is on point. Needs more drink variety. Staff is cool and friendly also you can eat inside or outside. Not a big fan of the bar tables to eat on but that's about it.

This place is neatly tucked away just North of the carwash at Sylvan and Oakdale Rd. If you like sandwiches, you really should try Mr Pickle's. The entire menu looks great and the bread is outstanding. Turkey and pepper jack on Dutch Crunch is great! This place is probably in the running for best sandwich shop in town. No argument here.

I ordered the Mr. Pickle sandwich, it was the best sandwich I've tasted by far..have yet to try others. Great customer service, friendly staff, you are acknowledged right away. Definitely will be going back soon.

Wonderful sandwich shop with great sandwiches and a very pleasant atmosphere inside... the staff has always been extra helpful, cheerful, and accommodating. We order for business lunches often, and our guests have always been pleased with the quality of the food.

Best sandwich shop in Modesto. Love the Big Jake! I only wish they stayed open later in the afternoon. There have been a few times we wanted Mr. Pickles only to realize that it was after four and that they were closed.

For the last 8 months, I’ve been trying to make it over here for a good sandwich due to my work schedule being the same as their hours and thankfully with the holidays, I made it. Being served the BBQ Tri-Tip sandwich, the wait was definitely worth it! Thank you.

Great sandwich spot for lunch. High quality ingredients and good bread (Dutch crunch is spot on). You can taste the fresh ingredients. My go to sandwich here is the Fast Eddy. Hold the mustard and mayo, add sauerkraut. Boom.

Always have really good bread, the ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly and professional, they get your order done fast so perfect for lunch on a time crunch, you can't beat the quality for the price.

Mr. Pickles is the best sandwich shop and town. There are several locations in Modesto, but the one on Oakdale rd. is my favorite. They use quality ingredients, and keep a very clean restaurant. My favorite sandwich is the B.L.A.T. (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato). It's a high calorie sandwich, but they have many sandwiches that are more health minded.

I *love* Mr. Pickles sandwiches! I work across the street. I can order my sandwich online and presto! It's ready when I need it! The ingredients are fresh and so are the lovely people who make them. I always receive a "Hello, Welcome!" when I come in.

Always good and so fresh! Their dutch crunch is the best around. You get a full 1/2 avacado, not little slivers on your sandwich.
I get the cold beef, cheddar and avacado with everything, YUMMO!

The sandwiches are delicious and the service at this particular location is always good. The staff is friendly and they always greet customers with a smile. My go to sandwich shop.
