Gable House Bed and Breakfast

Spent a lovely weekend in Durango as a quick get away from our life in Santa Fe. The Gable House, we discovered, is located very close to downtown so it's easy to walk into town. Even though we arrived around 7:00pm we were greeted and shown to our room, which was quite spacious and had an attached bathroom. This is actually a bed AND breakfast as we were served a full breakfast made by the hostess herself. Delicious! We had a great stay and we highly recommend the Gable House and its hosts!

My husband and I traveled to Durango and stayed in the Heather Room here at the Gable house. It was beautiful. The house has such a rich history and has been well maintained. The room was comfortable but the best aspect besides the house itself is the experience you have staying here. The owners make the experience by hosting a breakfast every morning. It’s a warm and inviting environment without being overbearing. Coffee chats with the other guests were another favorite aspect of ours. I cant recommend staying here enough.

Stayed at the beautiful Gable House Bed & Breakfast. Despite the mysterious appearance, this old Victorian house has the warmest vibes and the most wonderful hosts. We had two wonderful days of cozy accommodations and the personal attention of caretakers: luxurious bed, clawfoot tub, gourmet breakfast each morning and more. 🤌🤌🤌
So many great restaurants and bars within walking distance.The train station is nearby if you plan on taking a train ride. Durango hot springs spa a short drive away as well. Do not pass up this experience!!!

Tracey and Charlie are passionate owners, thoughtful hosts, and outstanding chefs. Best breakfast in Durango, seriously! Each room has its own story. Just just a few minutes walk from the heart of downtown Durango, as well. 100/10 would recommend!

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The house is charming. Breakfast was a superb way to start our days. Counsel on places to go and things to do were so very helpful. In short, Charlie and Tracie are simply the best inn-keepers around!

The Gable House is an amazing place to stay in Durango. It's right next to downtown with great access to restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this as a top choice in the area.

My husband and I recently spent two nights here. I cannot say enough about the Gable House. Tracie greeted us upon arrival and made us feel so welcome. Our room, the Schutt Room, was so lovely. The pictures do not do it justice. It was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. The toiletries were perfect and I have to mention the towels- they were the most luxurious towels I have experienced! And what’s a B and B without the breakfast!! Both morning a wonderful homemade breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice and a delicious hot meal. And we also learned about the history of the establishment from Charlie.
Definitely the best Bed and Breakfast I have been to. And all an easy 4 block walk to town

We had an amazing stay after completing the Colorado Trail. Tracie and Charlie were beyond gracious with their time and hospitality. The Bed and Breakfast is a short stroll from downtown making the location extremely convenient. We highly recommend staying with them while in Durango.

We stayed at the Gable House for three nights. It is very conveniently located to the downtown Durango area. We were able to walk to restaurants. The train depot, if traveling on the Durango-Silverton train, is also within walking distance. Our room had a nice balcony. We sat out each night and watched the hummingbirds and other birds at the feeders. The bed was very comfortable and the room included all amenities described. The hosts, Tracie and Charlie, were awesome! They were attentive, very friendly, and helpful in providing recommendations and suggestions to enhance our stay. The breakfasts were amazing. Tracie is a very talented and creative chef. They are not to be missed! I highly recommend Gable House Bed and Breakfast. You will not be disappointed.

Tracie and Charlie's wealth of knowledge about the local area is invaluable. Their recommendations for nearby attractions, scenic hikes, and charming local shops added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. They go above and beyond to ensure that guests have access to the best experiences the area has to offer.

All in all, The Gable House Bed and Breakfast was perfect for us and we were there for 10 days! Tracie and Charlie's warm hospitality, attention to detail, and passion for creating something really special were awesome. We can't recommend this place enough.

What a great place to stay in the heart of Durango! We booked a couple of nights at the Gable House this past June. From the communication with the owners prior to check in to the delicious locally sourced (and vegan!) breakfasts, everything was excellent. Tracie went the extra mile to create special meals to accommodate our dietary needs and we loved getting tidbits about what to do and where to go in the Durango area during breakfast. I highly recommend checking out the Gable House next time you visit this mountain getaway.

Lovely 130 year old historic home with beautiful grounds and great location away from Main st.

Delicious breakfasts.. different each of our 3 mornings and planned specifically around our food allergies and food requests.

Bed was very comfortable and towels very luxurious. Loved the Schutt room with its private balcony.

This was a fantastic place to stay for our 6th Wedding Anniversary! The hosts are extremely informative about local haunts and had excellent service every morning! The location was also close to downtown restaurants and shopping. Ten out of Ten would recommend Gable House if you're going to be in Durango!

Just had the most wonderful stay at Gable House. My friend and I had never been to Durango but came for a wedding and fell in love with the town - in part because of our stay here! The new owners, Charlie and Tracie, are such wonderful hosts: Great recommendations for Durango activities, great cooks (fresh & local ingredients every morning!), and so informed on the history of the house. Everything was in immaculate condition, the rooms were beautiful! If you are looking for an eclectic stay in downtown Durango, I’d absolutely recommend this BnB. This was their first winter to have the house open so it was pretty quiet, but we would love to also see it in full action during the summer! It’s walking distance from Main St, has beautiful mountain views, and will be an unforgettable experience!

This is a lovely place! Between the history of the house, the great hospitality, excellent breakfasts, and access to downtown this cannot be beat. I travel to Durango for work on a regular basis and The Gable House B & B is now where I will stay for all of my trips to Durango.

We stayed at the Gable House for the Durango Independent Film Festival. Tracie and Charlie (our hosts) were incredibly friendly and the breakfasts were outstanding! Such a great location (walking distance of downtown). I highly recommend if you're staying by yourself or with a larger group.
