Came here for dinner with my husband and two young sons. It was 6pm on a Friday and we were seated immediately upon walking in. Driving up to the restaurant, we were a little hesitant as it’s kinda dark and off the beaten path. However once we walked in, our opinions changed completely. The restaurant, while empty, was wonderful. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. Not a big menu, but seasonal and made to order which I prefer. My husband had the filet and loved it. I had a salad and crab cake and we shared the bacon wrapped scallops. Everything was so good! And service was fast, friendly, and accommodating. Definitely a hidden gem worth visiting while in Hershey! Wish more people knew about it to share in the great experience we had!

Absolutely spectacular. Best homemade fall sangria that I have ever had - extremely refreshing. Fresh baked dinner rolls came out hot from the oven. Terrific cut of Delmonico done perfectly by the kitchen, homemade mashed potatoes. And the service was exceptional. We even got a last minute tour of this historic tavern. I highly recommend Union Canal House to anyone, and since I'm from out of town, I'll likely be returning for dinner again tomorrow night.

We were at an afternoon concert at the Giant Center and while waiting for it to start I googled restaurants for a later dinner. This was the only one that had a time that was good for us. Made the reservation on Open Table and was not able to confirm until after the concert which ran longer than expected. Called to let them know we would be late and Deborah was very gracious and said she would hold reservation. Got there and was greeted and given a table. I chose the crab cakes and my wife chose the chicken parmigiana. Both meals were excellent and the crab cakes were some of the best I ever had. Although we live 2 hours from the restaurant I will definitely return.

Great food! Stopped in after a day at the amusement park. Were seated right away. The food was delicious! Appetizers, salad, burger, and chicken picatta. Wonderful! Our server was pleasant and responsive. Thoroughly enjoyed our time. Long selection of craft beers on tap as well. If in the area, strongly consider Union Canal House.

The waitress was very pleasant, and very timely with bringing us our amenities when we asked for them. The owners were absolutely delightful, and the Roast Duckling a l'Orange was to die for. It has been the best duck that I have tried thus far. 10/10 atmosphere, service, and food.

The Union Canal House is absolutely wonderful! It is a quaint place, rich in history, and very family-oriented. Mrs. Deborah Albright is a wonderful woman who really pays attention to her customers and their needs. I have never known a restaurant owner to be so hands-on. I love that the interior of the house has been preserved. The food was absolutely delicious! The staff is very friendly. Spending our evening here was the perfect ending to our day.

Best steak ever!!!!!!!! We have eaten there about 20 times in the past few years and the service and food have always been great. I always order the Delmonico VERY WELL done and it is always juice and tender. The Onion soup is unparalleled. I wish we lived closer so we could go there more often.

Surprisingly! It was a little creepy looking outside. We are from the city and the quiet desolate location had us thinking twice. We walked in and were taken by surprise. The customer service was awesome and the FOOOOOD! was so good. The atmosphere remained us of a Hallmark movie. We sat by the fireplace and absorbed the moment.

Highly recommend. First time having a delmonico's steak and by far the best steak I've had period. The owners are very welcoming and even give tours of the building from 1751. Great for a night out with the family as well (ask for the chicken tenders).

Staff and server were friendly. We didn't wait long. The food was delicious and arranged very nice. Prices are average for this type of restaurant. Everything was clean and had an old fashioned home feeling to it.

I'm so glad they rebuilt after the flood. Their blackened delmonico is the best steak I've ever had. A great atmosphere. Intimate tables, or casual at the bar; they've got something for everyone.

The Union Canal House's rich history adds to the comfortable atmosphere of this fine restaurant near the beautiful Swatara Creek. Drinks and food are created with great attention to detail. The staff, chef and owners are all friendly, and work together to create a wonderful dining experience.

The best hidden gem in Hershey! Located off the main Hersey drag but if your looking to beat the crowds and eat some great food you got to check out Union Canal. Don’t be fooled by the outside or it’s surroundings. Park your car and thank me later!

Steak was excellent. Staff was warm and welcoming. The glass of champagne to welcome us was the extra touch that made this place a great place to eat.

I have had dinner here many times with my wife and have enjoyed various items off the menu. If you are a fan of duck make sure you call ahead so they can have it prepared (24 hour notice is required)
