Pronio's Market

Pronio's is the perfect example of a small local grocery store with the main mission to serve its customers. I stopped there on a Sunday afternoon to get sausage. It was 2:58 pm, the store was dark and the owner had just walked out and was locking the door (apparently they close at 2:00 on Sundays). He saw me and insisted that I come in and get the sausage, even though I told him I could just come back another time. He told me just to be careful in the dark. I got the sausage and found some cash in my wallet so that he wouldn't have to run it through the card machine. The register had been cleared out for the end of the day, and when I handed him the $10 bill, he pulled out his wallet to give me change. THAT is what sets stores like Pronio's apart from anywhere else. I would give them 10 stars if I could. 😊

This is one of the best Italian markets in the greater Hershey area. Their hands cut veal, hot, and sweat Italian sausage are the best I've ever eaten! There's a reason they've been open over 100 years. Js

It really is a great and wonderful small Grocery Store. It has variety and a great fresh meat department.

When we need good quality veal, we know we can find it at Pronio’s. They have great quality meats. Also, we looove their homemade meat balls! They are the best!
Servicie is always great, hope the stay open in business for many years to come.

Love this store. The workers are so pleasant and very helpful. Very loving and compassionate. Fresh meat and fruits and fresh varieties if other products .. you feel at home in this grocery store. It is quaint and awesome and so much more..the deli has fresh meats, the butcher is on site for your other meats.. and for special holidays they take special orders for you ..
you are family here at this store!!!

We love this little store; reminded wife and I of store in the small town where we grew up.

Wonderful local grocery and butcher with Italian roots. Great produce at competitive prices with some smaller packages for small households like mine. Meat, chicken/turkey are outstanding - again, you can buy a pkg with 2 steaks as well as bigger pkgs. On-site meat cutting 6 or maybe 7 days a w eek. Not sure about Sundays. Best quality meat in the area, in my opinion. Meat and Deli staff can answer your questions. The prepared foods are excellent for example meatballs in sauce, meatloaf, ham salad, soups, egg rolls, desserts, spinach dip. In spite of being a smaller store, they carry 95% of the items I normally buy at competitive prices. Plus checkout staff will always help you put your bags in your car. People who work there are unfailingly polite and helpful. God bless Pronio's - wishing them a prosperous 2nd 100 years!.

Awesome store, picked up some of their breakfast sausage links, cooked them up today, Phenomenal! I'm looking forward to their Italian sausage for dinner tonight!

This place is awesome! I spoke with James in the deli over the phone, because I am across the country. While every other deli in the Hershey area turned me away for over-the-phone payment and delivery, he ensured me Pronio's could get my friend of seven years a holiday meat and cheese tray before Christmas. He said he would take care of it personally himself! Thanks Pronio's and thanks James!

I enjoy shopping at Pronio's. The trip today involved purchasing some maple syrup to take to Virginia. I bought two kinds. My son will be happy.

Our family loves Pronios, been going there my whole life and I’m almost 40! They have great produce and are always getting local growers to stock products! What a great place!!

I used to go to Pronio's with my grandmother when I was a little girl. I live about 40 min away but every once in a while I make the trip to Hershey to get some great italian products and take a little trip down memory lane. Great market and great memories from my childhood.

Could you tell me if you sell Fresh Ricotta cheese? And if you don't, do you know where I can buy it? I live in Mt. Joy. Don't really want to drive all the way to Philly to get fresh ricotta cheese. Thanks.

Update: finally took a ride there to see if they had any Italian specialty items. They have very little. Nothing really what I was looking for. Common Italian specialties we were looking for: fresh ricotta (did not have) fresh mozzarella (they had very small quantities and small containers), sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, fresh herbs. There wasn't anything special at this place. Sorry, I'm just blunt, but they didn't really have anything I was looking for in an Italian Specialty store.

Went again because I won a gift card. I didn't know what to buy there. I asked the place that gave me the gift card what people go there for. She told me that people like their Sandwiches, however many people like their sausage. Okay, I get it.... the sausage is house made. I bought the sausage on a night when my husband couldn't get our usual sausage at our usual place. I was near Pronio's and had the gift card, so I stopped. I bought their sweet Italian Sausage. We cooked it at home and made sandwiches with peppers and onions. It was the best sandwich we ever had. I went back for more sausage the next time I was near here. Two weeks ago, I went to Hershey and stopped here at Pronio's and got more Sausage. Needless to say, they have the BEST sausage. 👌

Growing up in Jersey, I was use to shopping in markets like this and Pronio’s is perfect! Great selection of Italian products, deli is amazing, very fairly priced on all their items and I will 100% support this business going forward. Definitely check this place out if you have the opportunity to.

I love this little grocery store. Has a great selection of Italian products and their chicken salad with cherries and mandarins from the deli is phenomenal. Also love that their meats come in smaller packages which is perfect for my family.

Update, June 23! Just an incredible local store! If I could give 10 stars, I would! Freshest selection of meats, imported cheeses, breads,local chips and pretzels, local hand made pasta which is exquisite! Fabulous custome service, they go out of their way to please! The store made deli and meal items are delicious, plus very reasonably priced! A MUST VISIT.

EXCELLENT customer service, wonderful selection of " specialty" Italian meats and cheeses, fresh ground meat, Pronio's own sausage, salads, sauces. If you normally go to the chains, check this hidden gem out! You will NOT go back to the chains for groceries. The difference is the quality and freshness! The Pronio's difference!

I love this store for when I just need a few things. It's a small store, but they have a good variety of items. Plus, it's very convenient to where I live. Their meat is awesome and I love their sausage. Usually friendly employees who bag your groceries, and offer to take them to your car.

Was told to try there Anville blend sausage. Bught some, Wii let you know after I cook them.

Not only the best Italian Deli in PA but also the best butcher as well. I am from North Jersey and used to the best Homemade Italian Sausage, the real deal with fennel. I get everything I need from this little Italian Gem, including the big cans of San Marzano Tomatoes in the big can. The butchers Josh, Tom, Anita and Linda from the deli department could not be more accommodating. Imagine real brasciole cut to order. If you are looking for quality with competitive prices more reasonable than your chain stores with daily specials in the butcher shop. This place is a must even if you are not Italian their butcher shop and deli will amaze you.

While dining at BABES Grill House in Palmyra, PA, the waitress mentioned the HOT SAUSAGE was sourced from a market In Hershey. After our weekend trip, we visited Pronios to buy a few pounds because it was freshly made, really tasty and spicy from the red pepper flakes added to the mixture.
Love to shop little neighborhood markets for that something different. Great that folks can walk here and buy essentials for their meals.
