When trying to ID an issue with my Onan 5500 generator I read a bunch of forum posts and had narrowed down possible issue/cause. I hit a wall with technical knowledge to further narrow down the issue.

Was referred to Flight Systems and was pleasantly surprised to learn they offered free tech support. Tom was amazing in helping me ID that the slip rings were not turning so not even an electrical issue that Flight Systems could supply parts for (turns out my belt was broken).

Super happy they were willing and happy to help with no financial gain, stellar support. I'll be giving them all my business anytime I have electrical needs!

Can't say enough good things about these people- they go above and beyond and trying to sort out problems for generator owners. Their technical support staff who you making appointment with, it's really easy to do, Walk you through step by step what you need to do to fix your own generator. Once they help you to determine your problem they'll send a part at a reasonable price with super fast shipping. Returns are no problem either...

This is an awesome company! It started with great customer service upon my initial inquiry about repairing an inverter from my Onan generator.
I sent the unit in and they had it diagnosed, repaired, and back to me in 2 weeks! I got it installed and the generator runs great. I also get a 1 year warranty should something go wrong.

Flight Systems has no obligation or self serving interest to provide generator troubleshooting support but they do. I am so impressed that they help... just because. They will help you over the phone and they have youtube videos too. I purchased a circuit board, without talking to them first, and it ended up I don't think I needed it. After installing it, I had multiple other issues I needed to address. They walked me through some multi meter tests and other helpful tips. I ended up ordering brushes and an oil sensor. (not something they sell... so helping me was not for that reason) Anyway, my Onan generator now runs great! I kept my old circuit board just in case it's still good. Thanks for the great service and all your help!

Typical Older Onan Generator Problem. Starts and runs fine, but shuts off after releasing Start switch. Followed the quick troubleshooting guide these fellas put on their website, and concluded the board was bad. Could see 2 burned out looking diodes. Board has seen its day. Ordered and received brand new board in a few days. Plug it up and VOILA kept running just perfectly!!! Meter ticking lights on a.c. blowing cold! Nice to have it working again for those 1 night adventures in middle of nowhere and to have coffee and skillet working for the next morning! If yours shuts down after start, just go ahead and buy the board. Most likely your circuit board has seen its day if its an older generator!! Thanks Flight Sytems!!

went on the site a few days ago to purchase a 20 dollar item, shipping was 20 dollars for something the size of a large pencil, not right. Went to a competitor and purchased several things and shipping was 25 dollars for second day air ups, they need to improve on their shipping cost, because there are others that make the same parts
