The Back Porch Restaurant

The atmosphere at The Back Porch is excellent any season. During the winter, like last evening, I prefer to dine downstairs where the low ceilings, stone walls and fireplaces make it intimate and cozy.

We had the salmon, pasta with shrimp, almond torte, with Brie/fig appetizer. Everything was well prepared and presented. Finally, the bartender Hannah is such a delight. Warm, funny and engaging she adds to the ambience.

I had take out from here for the first time and was so impressed! Butter lettuce salad with blue cheese crumbles and dressing with grilled chicken and brussel sprouts. Dessert was a soft fudge brownie topped with powdered sugar! I can't wait to dine there soon and experience the rest! Hands down a 5 star on flavor and a good meal choice.

An all-time favorite in my family, we make at least one visit each year. Be advised, it is pricey, but the experience will meet even the highest expectations. Some changes have been implemented to the menu, be advised that side dishes are now a la carte, but the portions are huge (baked potato, for example, consists of two large potatoes) and can definitely be shared. Service was excellent. I recommend the pork chop, the autumn bisque (seasonal) and the best side dish is the creamy spinach and mushrooms. Outstanding.

Locally owned, highly suggest making a reservation especially on special occasions. They have multiple floors for your dinning experience. Restaurant a bit pricey. Our last dinner was here for Valentines day, prior to, we easily dropped $200. Service was very good once our drink order was taken we had to wait a moment or two for our server to greet, but it was quite busy. Our drinks were good I got a blush sangria and my husband an old fashion. We had calamari very good and came quickly. I had also ordered a house salad and my husband ordered their Canadian cheese soup both again worth getting. Our entries I got the orange and something (lol) filet which tonight came with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, I do not like Brussel sprouts which is why I got the salad, they usually do not switch out the vegetables that is prepared. My husband got on of the specials lobster and crab served with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Both were excellent. We did not get dessert we are both pie people and pie was not one of the 7 options.

I went there for my birthday! The scallops, risotto, carrots, Merlot on tap and creme brulee were the best ever! It has it all! Atmosphere, great service and the absolute best scallops I ever had. The risotto was excellent and I love their carrots! A fabulous birthday dinner!

I hosted a baby shower for my daughter and it was nothing less than exceptional! The room was set up beautifully and the food served was beyond amazing...a few unexpected seasonal additions certainly enhanced our overall dining experience. The restaurant undoubtedly proved to be the perfect place for our celebratory occasion. Robin (she's incredible), the chef and the extremely attentive staff made it a special one!

First time there and it was great. Food and service was amazing. Parking is little rough, but seems to be plenty available. Definitely an older crowd there. You can tell people have been going here year after year.

I've never had a bad experience here. Great food and super friendly staff makes for a fantastic night out...minus kiddos. Took a picture of the lobster bisque which was perfect. Also, the shrimp and grits were prepared to perfection. Enjoy!!

This is an upscale place with a good selection of dishes on the menu. It's a romantic, rustic setting with warm fireplaces to sit by. The dishes range from $15 - $25 a plate. The soups are delicious and you do get rolls and butter. They also have a great selection of desserts that are freshly made, in-house. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great. This would be a great place for a romantic night out or occasional dine. Check for reservations.

Food was phenomenal! The chef made some of the best prime rib I've ever had. The host and server were very friendly. We sat down stairs and it seemed more our style.

The place in the area for high end dining. Amazing service, fine dining, seasonal menu options for being outside of a major city. Unique flavor to their baby back ribs that makes them a must try. If you're not a ribs fan at least try the sampler to get a taste along with goat cheese fritter.

Seasonal changes from the heirlooms to the duck make summer to fall special.

Deserts are a must and always evolving along with their homemade ice cream.

The Baby Back Ribs are so good ! And the Shrimp w/Cheezie grits and pickled jalapeno made my night. Service was #1 and atmosphere perfect. It was my first visit and certainly not my last.

My family and I had dinner at The Back Porch to celebrate my wedding. We had an incredible time! The atmosphere is so romantic and sweet. If you’re into history or historical homes, this is the place for you! The food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meals. We even got a small wedding cake from the restaurant’s bakery and everyone kept saying how much they enjoyed it! The staff was so friendly and attentive. Our waiter was great, so sweet. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening or special event. Thank you for making my wedding day even more special!

First class food and service. Never been disappointed with any food. I enjoy this place!

Pleasantly surprised, last week our meal was very disappointing. But tonight it was excellent, I was reluctant to go back however my granddaughter insisted, & I was very happy I did, because it was the way I always remembered The Back Porch…Although the prices did go up & they took a lot of the standard items off the menu
It was good .., “please don’t change the quality & service of your dining experience.”
People will pay for good food & service.

I always enjoy dining at the Back Porch. All of our meals were excellent! The calamari and general tso cauliflower appetizers were delicious too. I also really like their carrots. The service and atmosphere is very nice. I do recommend dining here.

The scallops were exceptional. My husband loved his pasta dish. Great food, drinks, and service.

Our waitress Robin was wonderful and the food was perfect. A great night out, can’t wait to go back.
