Wife and I did a Saturday night "Date Nite" here and took advantage of their "Dinner for 2" special - shared app, each get salad or soup, each get entree, extra large shared side and shared dessert for $100.

This was an INSANELY fantastic meal, especially at that price point! We had:

Wagyu Meatballs

Wedge salad
Crab and corn chowder

8 oz filet mignon
Chilean Sea Bass

Whipped potatoes

Chocolate mousse

I started with their signature cocktail, the Liberty Pole Smoked Manhattan, which has a lovely tablesid presentation. All the food was EXCELLENT, the service was spot on, the timing of the meal was just right, and Nate's was 5 out of 5 stars across the board - we cannot wait to come visit again!

Ok y’all, buckle up! This is going to be a long one!

My husband and I visited Nate’s Chophouse for the first time on Derby Day. Expecting a full house, we still attempted to show up early for drinks at the bar. The bar was packed, but the hostess was able to seat us early, so it all worked out. Our waitress was Amber, and she had such a pleasant, bubbly personality. Getting the right server can make or break an experience, but she was on point all evening!

I started with a bottle of Riesling, while my husband started with a smoked old fashioned. Not expecting the drinks portion to be an experience itself, Amber came back over with a block of wood, wood chips, a torch, and the ingredients. She put on quite the show to make his drink!

We opted to enjoy the Date Night special they are offering this month. It’s dinner for two on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4pm to 7pm for just $100.

For our appetizer, we chose the sticky pork belly. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, over a bed of rice and slaw. I don’t know what sauce was on this goodness, but it did not disappoint! I’m pretty sure my husband would’ve licked the bowl if it wouldn’t have been frowned upon.

We followed up the appetizer with our starters, and we both chose the cup of crab and corn chowder. Again, perfectly executed! The corn was subtly sweet with chunks of crab in a delicious cream sauce! It was also at this time, she brought out bread served with a side of crack butter. 😂 Seriously, the chives and black salt mixed in the butter was out of this world!!

Lucky for us, there was also a rep from Wild Turkey at the restaurant giving out samples. Since my husband already had an old fashioned, this awesome guy comped us two of their bold fashioneds made with Wild Turkey 101! Yum!! Needless to say, by this point, we were pretty full!

But the dinner continues, and we both opted for the 8oz filet, medium rare, for our entrees. Again, seasoned and cooked perfectly! The picture speaks for itself! Next time, I think I’ll try some accompaniments to take it to the next level, but for our first time, we wanted to see how strong their steak game was for being a chophouse. They nailed it!

We chose the bourbon carrots for our side, and we were not expecting these ginormous carrots. But holy wow were they out of this world delicious! Not realizing how much food this date night menu truly consisted of, we ordered a second side of mexican street corn. We definitely did not need a second side and ended up taking home most of the corn and three of the seven carrots. And we made sure to ask Amber to make sure we got the delicious bourbon sauce on the carrots in the to go box. 😂

Finally, it was time to share a dessert. And since my husband knows how much I love creme brûlée, he chose it for us! I will apologize for the picture of this part of the meal because well, I dove right in not thinking about a picture. But it was just slightly warmed from burning the sugar on top, and it really rounded out the perfect dinner. One of the best creme brûlées I’ve had, and believe me, I have eaten a lot of creme brûlées in my life!

So if you’re looking for a nice restaurant to enjoy a 5 star meal without getting super dressed up, this is the spot! Everyone working there had a smile and seemed to really enjoy their job and take pride in what they do. And of course, the kitchen folks are back there rocking it! We made sure to tell the Manager to let them know as well.

Loved everything! My Ribeye was exceptional. Sea Bass, Pork and crab fried rice all outstanding. Huge portions! This is a high end chop house, and worth every penny. Didn't have room for dessert but ordered the Tiramisu (also huge!) and we cleaned the plate. Great cocktails too. So so glad to have this new addition to Southpointe, worth the wait. Shout out to Dan- our waiter, he was also fantastic!

Wow what an amazing experience we had tonight at Nate’s Chophouse! First of all the atmosphere is gorgeous and very classy. Our waiter Vincent was really nice and super friendly! We started drinks (fizzy gin and tropical paradise which were fabulous) and also with the calamari appetizer and it was great, the spicy aioli was so good! I had the Chilean Sea Bass, and my partner got the King Salmon. We were so impressed with how it was prepared, the fish melted in your mouth. The asparagus and creamed pea sides were also very good. We told them on our reservation we were celebrating our 6 year anniversary, and had a fantastic crème brûlée complimentary! It was all so wonderful and worth every penny spent! So happy to have this fine dining restaurant so close to home and in Southpointe, can’t wait to come back and try even more on the menu!

Last night was date night with my wife Rachel and let me tell you it was one of the best in awhile. We had an amazing visit, and Incredible service! The awesome dynamic duo of the Brian and Jesse made our first visit here unforgetable. I had an amazing Old Fashioned with Wigle Rye that was just perfect for the meal ahead. My wife stuck with her normal glass of wine of course lol.

Hot n crunchy shrimp was first...with (my favorite) jalapeno mango salsa.l for dipping. Let me say they were INCREDIBLE! The crispy and spicy seasoning on them was such a great combo for shrimp to me and that salsa completed it.

Lamb sliders second. Ok I'm out of my comfort zone here and my wife was even further out...but I will try anything at least once. Never had a lamb sliders and especially made right. I personally loved them. Not something I'd get myself everyday, but they were good! Esp with that salsa I had left from the shrimp lol. I love that it's like build your own style. They put the toppings on the side so you can add what you'd like. Great idea!

Fried green tomatoes last...for the apps that is. I don't like tomatoes but have never had a fried green tomatoe. It was actually really good. This was Rachel's favorite for sure. He said those are one of their best seller's. So if you like fried green tomatoes, I suggest you try them out.

So on to dinner! Haha we ate a lot but not everything! I sure as hell finished my main course though. My wife...not so much haha. I had a filet that was cooked to perfection and just incredible 😍. The sear on the steak was delicious along with the seasonings used on the steak. My mouth is watering now thinking about it. Paired with Mashed potatoes and one it the best Gumbo's I've ever had. I was extremely satisfied!! This is going to be my steak go to from now on. That's for sure. The wife had Chicken Alfredo that I'd put up against any Italian restaurant....and she loved their ranch! Thanks God! Her salad she said was really good esp bc the ranch.

Firstly, the service was great - our server was new (as is the restaurant as a whole), but she was very friendly, helpful, and told us what the birthday dessert was to celebrate our manager. The food was good - I had the short rib melt and it was very nice. The fries were incredible - thick and well-seasoned and very filling. It feels a little crowded with the amount of tables, but the bar area and outside area looked very nice. Although it's a bit pricey, I'd come back and try some new things on the menu during lunch because it is significantly more reasonable.

I think this one will make it in the space. Great location, service, and menu to go with it. Don't overlook the beet salad and brussel sprouts to go with your favorite entre.

Showed up an hour before close, and was not rushed to order after being seated. Waitstaff was friendly and not intrusive. Nice dim lighting and large open windows facing the street. Food was well made and worth the prices listed. Never felt rushed or intruded upon despite it almost closing time.

Finally, a true steakhouse in the South Hills! Ribeye was perfect. The corn chowder was best we've ever eaten. Wedge salad also quite good. Wine list was fine, although heavy on CA wines. Seating was very comfortable. Not rushed at all, and food arrived when we expected it to. Hostess was wonderful and server and expediter were both professional. Prices are a little on the high side, and we wish the sides could be small portions instead of for two people, since we don't always want the same side. These details aside, we will be back for sure!
