Initially, I felt this was a place where I would find the safety and help I so needed when I arrived...however, as things progressed with my stay I realized I couldn't have been more wrong. If you have a crisis after 5pm or over the weekend when staff is gone you are on your own as they are unreachable. Although I was continually assured by my advocate of their support and help, I found myself being railroaded out over Thanksgiving weekend after a threatening incident with another resident (who is still there) with no staff speaking to me about any of the details of this incident and resolving it in a professional and fair manner (This was the SECOND threatening incident I experienced there from another resident who is also still living there!) Instead the police were called to escort me out at 11pm on a very icy and cold November night....just more trauma I didn't need in my life!!! 😪
The staff is highly inexperienced and uncaring in managing this shelter...I'm just happy to be free of it!
