River's Edge Mediterranean Cuisine

Came here on a Saturday night with a few friends from
Work, the food is amazing! The appetizers are so good and all served with fresh pita! We ordered Nachos with Lamb Gyro which was delicious and I got Moroccan Lamb Tagine and I would give it 10/10, the flavor and the lamb meat was so well cooked and seasoned, my friend ordered the Vegetable Paella which was really good. I also order the Moroccan tea which I enjoyed. It BYOB and there’s a M&R liquor store right next door which is super convenient. This place is also very good for vegetarians and food are also serviced with halal meat.
We were so full and didn’t get to try their dessert, but we saw the customer next to us ordered pistachio baklava which looked delicious, we will definitely come back!

This was our first visit and definitely not our last! The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. Families, couples, friends… all enjoying the food and the company. The owner came over to introduce himself and our water was consistently refilled. It is a BYOB, however the owner asked us if we wanted to go next door to purchase a bottle of wine. We stayed with water, and each suggestion they made for food was incredible! I can’t say enough amazing things about this place. Everyone was so incredibly kind, and the service was outstanding too! At the end of our meal we wanted dessert, and the Owner suggested Kofta. We didn’t know what it was exactly, but trusted him and let me tell you… It was the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life (and I’m Italian so that’s saying something!). My friend and I will for sure be back and will bring our friends and family too.
I’m so grateful to have found a place that reminds me of “home”.

The lamb gyro was one of the best I’ve ever had. The tender, thinly sliced lamb was packed with flavor and perfectly complemented by a medley of vegetables and a creamy tzatziki sauce.

The grape leaves and the Moroccan tea are a must!

If you like Mediterranean food you will love this place. Food taste very good.

My daughter mentioned this place to me. I took her along on a Saturday night and ordered a few dishes.
I loved it. Everything was so flavorful. Adored the wings with the dip.
It's BYOB but there's a package store right next to it. Ample parking. Lovely staff. $53.00 for our meal, great value

Last Wednesday, during my visit to CT for a conference, a friend invited me to a delightful dinner at such beautiful restaurant. The experience was fantastic; Tamia is a very nice waitress. She demonstrated professionalism and expertise in her role. Every detail of the meal was meticulously prepared and served flawlessly. The owner even made a personal appearance at each table to ensure everything was just right. I couldn't resist ordering a few dishes from the menu to share with my family later on the day; they were simply irresistible. I highly recommend trying the "Konafa"; its flavor transported me back to the most authentic tastes of my childhood, reminiscent of my mother's own cooking.

My friend and I stumbled upon this culinary delight and were incredibly pleased. The food and service were outstanding - my scallops (and everything else) were cooked perfectly. It is BYOB with a liquor store very conveniently next door. It is a small interior, so definitely recommend making reservations for a large party. We can't wait to return.

Absolutely excellent authentic Mediterranean food! Highly recommend. Hostess and waitress was patient, answered questions, and attentive without being intrusive. Owner was welcoming and suggested having the baclava for dessert next time. I definitely will! And I'll be back next time I'm visiting.

An unassuming street presence masks a real treasure. An elegant atmosphere and a warm greeting made a great first impression, and everything we tasted maintained our excitement. We appreciated the owner introducing himself and taking an interest in our experience. The food here is really exceptional.

We had the most amazing lunch at River’s Edge. The owners are lovely. They gave us details about the dishes which I appreciated. The falafel is delicious but also comes with a side of Egyptian salsa that I’ve never had before. I’ve had my fair share of falafel but the added salsa was so unique. It was very additive to the dish. Definitely something I’ve never had before! The chicken saffron soup was also amazing. Everyone loves it and now I know why! My husband enjoyed his huge streak and cheese sandwich. The portions were large! Also the desserts…. There is one with shaved phyllo dough and pistachios I highly recommend it. It’s very unique and a perfect amount of sweetness. I highly recommend stopping by for a great Mediterranean dining experience!

This is my second time eating here and it’s better everytime. The food is always amazing-the nachos are the best! This time we had baklava cheesecake for dessert and it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever tasted. The Moroccan tea is also one of my favorites. The owner is very friendly and I like that he takes the time to go up to the tables and ask how your liking your food. Great place! We will keep going back.

We also noticed the first time it was BYOB and we actually really liked that we could bring in whatever we wanted to drink.

I just love this place. Usually come for a more elaborate meal but today wanted a quick bite. The Palestinian 🇵🇸 Burrito is amazing! Highly recommend!

We have come here many times and the food is always 10/10. Some of the best Mediterranean I’ve had anywhere, and I love Mediterranean. The BYOB option is lovely, and I’m so hopeful they bring back the sunny patio this year.
So many flavorful vegetarian options. Favorites are: Mediterranean nachos, cigar, halloumi, baba ghanoush, roasted veggies, and the various veggie wraps. I am forever campaigning for them to bring back my favorite eggplant walnut salad as well.
Meat eater favorites are the shrimp pasta, lamb fatayer, and weirdly the steak and cheese (it’s seasoned Mediterranean style and apparently out-of-this-world).

Lovely little place in Avon. Must try we all ordered different things meat and vegitarian options which they have a lot of it was delicious. The flavors were on point with Mediterranean food. At the end of our meal the chef came over to see if we enjoyed it and the waiters were lovely.

Absolutely divine!

I had the house feta salad with lamb gyro... omg, it was pure bliss! The lentils were a delicate bisque-like soup, heavy on the cumin but a perfect balance. The Egyptian tea was lovely too.

My daughter had the chicken shawarma, which she raved about.. not a grain of rice or morsel was left on her plate.

We will definitely be back for more Mediterranean fare!

What a gem hidden in Avon!!!! Authentic food and great atmosphere!

Came here for the first time, and it did not disappoint. Our server Lilly was great as well as additional support staff. The seafood tagine was one of the best meals we’ve had this year, we will absolutely be back. Additional points to how clean the restaurant was!

Had a quick lunch here and the service and food were 👌🏽. The lamb was tender and juicy...falling off the bone! The falafel was crispy on the outside soft on the inside the way it should be. Would definitely stop in again!!

We stopped at this restaurant gem for lunch and will definitely go again for dinner next time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and had a relaxing vibe to it. As we were in between the lunch and dinner rush, the chef himself came out to greet us. He gave us several recommendations from the menu and was very genuine in his pride of the dishes that he creates. The food was excellent, made fresh and seasoned perfectly. The chef came out twice more during our meal to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We felt like treasured guests. A server came in and was equally helpful as we chose from the dessert menu. Again, the chef came out to see what we chose! Please try this restaurant as you will not be disappointed and will enjoy the many selections on the Mediterranean menu. I'm looking forward to going back for one of the many fish entrees.
