Cromwell Diner

I've been here hundreds of times, i even remember when it was the night club uncle A's in the 90's. I've had great, not so great, and down right ridiculously terrible experiences here. This morning I got the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, biscuit with sausage gravy. It also came with a very good home fries and a couple onion pieces. First complaint, they only have Tabasco hot sauce, totally gross!! Everyone wants Frank's Red Hot!! Wake up!! The meal was very good, however, they put the sausage gravy only on the chicken fried steak???? It needs to be on everything, most of all, the biscuits!! Which, by the way, are the best biscuits I've ever had! I got Xtra sausage gravy and I was satisfied, and I wasn't charged extra for it. Huge menu, if you haven't been here, which I'm thinking most of you have, you should definitely go!!

Stopped by after my son's soccer game and was pleasantly surprised. The staff here was so attentive and welcoming. Everyone was just a pleasure to talk to. I knew right from my first sip of coffee I was at a special place. The coffee here is great and I found out it is lavazza coffee. The omelet was loaded with fresh veggies and great cheese. The pancakes were so fluffy and delicious. If you are nearby you must stop in... This diner is awesome! I definitely will be back again

First, I LOVE diners. At home or on the road, I will always try to hit a diner if I can.

That said, I found Cromwell Diner to be an excellent dining option. I got my usual burger: beef, bacon, and bun and was not disappointed. For dessert, I tried the chocolate layer cake, which I thought a little dry. I should have gotten PIE!

I will most definitely return.

Stopped by this morning on my way back to North Carolina. Got the breakfast tacos with sausage. The service was quick and the food tasted great! The loaded hash browns was where it was at!

We love diners and we don't see good a lot of good ones anymore. We were across the street getting new tires put on so decided to walk over to the Diner. So glad we did. Hubby had a nice big breakfast. I had a toasted bagel. They were very prompt in bringing coffee and doing refills. The place is spotless and busy but they handled everyone very well. I noticed the outside seating with umbrellas which was a nice addition. Didn't realize they have a diner in Shelton CT which is where my Real Estate company is headquartered. You pay at the register on the way out. If you love diners this is a good one for sure!

I took the kids out for Brunch and I can say the food was Delicious I ordered a Homemade Chicken Pot Pie one of my kids had Chicken and waffles the other one had biscuits with gravy, eggs and home fries. The service was great definitely family friendly we will definitely be back to eat here...

Cromwell Diner did not disappoint! My husband ended up going here two days in a row when we were in town for a family wedding. The outside kind of looks like a Denny's, but don't be fooled, even without the classic old school diner look this place is still excellent. We ended up coming here with a party of 10 at 11 AM on Sunday and were seated without hesitation. But it wasn't empty either! I recommend the "Big Cromwell Breakfast" for a good deal.

Delicious fried chicken dinners- the best mashed potatoes, biscuits & of course chicken!The service was slow; but they were very busy with only 2 chefs. Fortunately we weren't in a rush.

HUGE breakfast!! Had the "Big Cromwell Breakfast" and it was gigantic. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pancakes and hash browns. Everything was fantastic. Eggs cooked perfectly, bacon crispy, hash browns charred just right, pancakes as big as the plate were light and fluffy. Coffee was ok and not too hot but that was the only downside. Diner was super busy, but service time was very fast. Awesome place for breakfast!!

The food was good, the place was lovely and clean love, kind waitress and educate. 😊😊

Love It! Was here a year ago, had same waitress 2nd time. Choices and quality of food is awesome. Try the Roast beef stacker. I was so content after eating it. Pies and desserts out of this world. Service fast !

I have been coming here for years, the major renovation a few years ago really made the place shine. Diner is big and very modern and clean. I don't think I have ever been disappointed in the food but only wish the coffee was more to my liking. Staff is very efficient and you will never wait long, even at peak times.

Food was very good and great service. We had a large party and they handled it extremely well.

We went to the Cromwell on a Sunday morning around 10:45am. Place was absolutely packed. They were only a few parking spots left. Despite how crowded it was we got seated immediately. The waitress came to take our order right away and the food was delivered very fast. Everything was delicious. The home fries were one of the best I've ever had. Pricing is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Cromwell diner.

Was in town visiting family and made room in my schedule to stop and have breakfast. So glad I did, great food and service. Definitely will return on my next visit to Cromwell!

Stopped in passing through on a road trip. It was a half an hour before closing. We were a little sketchy about getting quality food as I know the kitchen has probably already started wrapping up.
We ordered a clam chowder for my grandson,very impressed.chowder was flavorful homemade and loaded. We got mixed sticks for an app. the homemade marinara was so good.
My husband got buffalo chicken wrap,very good
I got the Mediterranean chicken. Delicious!!!
I loved every bite.
Service was great and didn't feel rushed even though they were closing.
I will definitely stop there again ,if we're in the area.
