Joey Garlic's Newington

I’ve heard for many years how Joey Garlics is really good, I’m a good distance away and don’t go that direction. This weekend I was finally able to try it and it did not disappoint. I had never had eggplant fries before and let me tell you they are addicting!!! Nice green salad came with the meal and the penne a la vodka was one of the best sauces I have had in a long while! My mom had the Marsala which she said was super good. Our server was also fantastic. Good portions, good food and nice service all around!!

Great Detroit Style pizza!! Have not had it since the last time I was in Detroit and I must say this place nailed it!! The Mac and Cheese also did not disappoint! The only negative was the clam chowder soup was very runny - still tasty but probably wouldn’t order it again. Service was also outstanding!!

The gluten-free pizza is very good. Yes it's on the pricey side but that's expected from gluten-free pizza. I ended up getting the pickle pizza and it was great. Even on the busy night the waitress was very nice and held to the best of her abilities. I have no complaints and would love to go back even though the menu is very limited for myself. I would definitely go with somebody who is not gluten-free.

After a long day of travel we had the food delivered to our hotel room. Pizza and Chicken Marsala. With the exception that the food arrived barely warm (and no utensils although ordered) the food tasted amazing. We will definitely be eating this again but next time we will visit the restaurant. My chicken Marsala was the best I have ever had, peppery and loaded with mushrooms. Portion would easily serve 2. My husband (a bit of a pizza snob) inhaled his small cheese add meatballs and garlic (we do believe the chef forgot to add extra garlic which is funny considering the name of the restaurant 🤣)

This was our first time here and on the recommendation of a family member. As a man of Sicilian heritage, I asked if the Bolognese could be kicked up with more garlic. They did NOT disappoint! There were chunks of garlic mixed in with the sauce! The server said she could smell my dinner fun around the corner. So good! The portions are very generous. I got three meals out of my dinner. The server was very friendly and attentive.

Fantastic food and service today at Joe's Garlic. Our server was friendly and attentive. She put in our kids order first so he could get started right away. We had the kids cheeseburger and fries, chicken marsala, and Detroit style barbecue chicken pizza. All were generously portioned, with plenty of the adult meals to bring home.

While the restaurant was busy, the design of the space still makes for a uncrowded experience where everyone could easily carry on a conversation.

We've done take out and dined inside and loved both. The Detroit style pizza is a must get! I also recommend the grinders because they are tasty and huge! You can easily have two filling meals from each one. Last, but not least, the wings are really great too!

Great bar and atmosphere. Spencer, the bartender, is absolutely fantastic! Quick, efficient, and friendly. Food was great. Mozzarella sticks are thick and loaded with cheese. I went with a Detroit white pie (add spinach and tomato) and the other person had veal parm. Both dishes were amazing, with enough of each leftover for two more meals. My only gripe is that there are literally 40 parking spaces devoted to pick up/take out service, which is half the good parking spaces.

Yum! Tip: Wear elastic pants : ) The menu has SO many fabulous choices, you'll want to get one of everything! We went for pizza and beers, so we had our mind set. (They sell beer by the bottle or pitchers). But, we have to go back for the ginormous grinders and then another visit for the meals. We looked at other tables orders and everything is large portions. You'll leave with a doggie bag, for sure. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Parking is plentiful and a separate section for pick up orders. Just pull into your spot, and they'll happily bring your order right to your car. The dining room and barroom have plenty of seating, in a comfortable yet classy environment. The servers are excellent and attentive. We've driven by numerous times and finally decided to stop in. It definitely won't be the last. The hardest part will be deciding what you'll want to order! Luckily for us, we already knew what we wanted, otherwise we'd still be there deciding 😉

You know the place is good when the place is packed… Thank God for the waitlist option! The food was delicious and the drinks were to die for! The house salad with creamy gorgonzola dressing was delicious as well! Our waitress was lovely, too bad I forgot her name 😢. Will definitely will visit again when in the Newington area!

The food was amazing. What can you say about a place that makes homemade pasta. It is truly a lost art form. Excellent local beer selection. I am very happy that the Holiday Inn recommended this restaurant. I also very much appreciated the owner's presence at the location; it shows that he takes a lot of pride in his restaurant.

This place is great. We made it a holiday tradition to go with the wife and my boys (23&28). We've going for 4 years now and it hasn't disappointed. Eggplant fries are the best appetizer ever. Portions are huge and every thing tastes great. We haven't had a bad server yet. Everyone has been great.

This place never fails to impress me. The food selection, portion sizes and prices. Now for the customer service, it's amazing! If you haven't been here make it a point to go and bring friends.

Still the same great food! Meat lovers pizza, cheesy garlic bread and mango habanero chicken tenders, Cobb salad…..

Fresh! Delicious!!! What more can I say! Ingredients are always fresh! Food comes out quick and service is always given with a smile!!

This was my first time here iam from Ohio my wife's family is from Connecticut and I can say this place was AMAZING!! The pizza were awsome not over priced fresh topping. So many different styles and flavors to chose from .we all got different small or personal sized and shared peace . With turn out to be enough for 5 of us with some to take home. DEFIANTLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF UR IN CONNECTICUT

We have tried a few locations and we like this one the best. Staff is always friendly and very attentive. The pizza here is one of the better ones that I've tasted and my whole fam agrees. Keep it up guys.

The service was fantastic! Chelsea was super attentive and patient with our group of 14. Food was tasty and came out really fast. Portions are huge

Stopped here for dinner, no wait got seated nice a quickly. Comfortable and clean booths. Nice servers. Food was fantastic. Def highly recommend
