Authentic Thai food, in my opinion. Serene atmosphere. Great ambiance. Friendly staff. Overall, a great Thai restaurant. I would rate this as Top 5 Thai restaurants in Hartford Metro area. I have been there on a couple of occasions. I would recommend to a friend

In my opinion, Ekkalak has some of the best Thai food you’ll find anywhere. I’ve tried Thai places all over, and this spot is one of my favorite restaurants, period. It’s a family operation that’s run by really nice people, and you can tell that they pride themselves on always using high quality ingredients and serving delicious, beautiful food, especially when you go for the house specialties. I used to live down the street and order takeout a few times a month, and now I’ve moved away but always stop by whenever I’m back in town. They do a great takeout operation, and if you want to eat there I recommend going on a nice day where you can sit outside and enjoy the view of the ridge with Heublein tower. My favorites include all of their Thai curries, the Thai salads, and any of their noodle dishes.

The food was so good, I just had to write a review! I sat down and had lunch and ordered a bubble tea and the Pangang curry with chicken off the lunch menu. I LOVE curry and prefer it as hot as possible. For less than $15, I had a wonderful sized lunch in a quiet, peaceful setting. Thanks!

Excellent! They PILED on the basil for my drunken noodles. That's awesome! We just tried it out after they opened, and we'll definitely be back. Panang curry was great too! The staff is very welcoming and attentive. We were very impressed with the food and the staff.

The Thai iced tea was wonderful. The sampler appetizer platter was a perfect way for two people to try a wide variety of their appetizers. I had a sweet and sour pork entree with crisp fruits and vegetables that was perfectly refreshing for a hot summer day. My guests had a very tasty noodle dish I forget the name of but it is a Thai name and it appears immediately above the Drunken Noodles on the menu. I would have added a little more heat to it for my tastes but the meal as a whole was a 5-star experience

Great for vegetarians! They are able to prepare delicious curries and noodle dishes without fish sauce. We just returned from Thailand and their green curry with tofu is the closest we've found to what we ate in Thailand - complex, deep, rich flavor with just the right amount of heat. Many other Thai restaurants in this area won't prepare dishes without fish sauce, so we were very happy to have found Ekkalak!

Love the food!
I have been to Thailand over 40 times in the last 20 years and have to say that the food here is as close to what I get there as any I have had in the US. Portions are large, price is reasonable and service very good. In the week that they have been open, I have made the trip twice from Wethersfield and will be going again next Sunday for Mother's Day.

Wow! The food was phenomenal. There's definitely a huge portion for a low price. You don't get that at a lot of places now a days. The staff was friendly and my food came out hot. The chicken satay is to die for. Will be going back soon!

Food is delicious, fresh, and feels traditional and homemade. Family owned and operated. Elegant, yet practical environment. Awesome view of heublein tower from the patio. Wait staff was very down to earth, courteous, and attentive. Excellent experience!!

I had the Crab Rangoon to start and Ginger Sauce as a main dish, both were excellent - fresh and authentic. Service was fast, courteous, and professional. All around great experience, will definitely be back.

This is a brand new authentic, family run, Thai Restaurant opened by Ekkalak and his wife Dee. Mom, Um, does most of the cooking and Ekk's younger brother is often in the kitchen.

I went for lunch here yesterday with a friend to check it out. We had delicious Crab Rangoon to start and I had Beef Fried Rice for my lunch with Thai Iced Tea. The Beef Fried Rice was great. A large helping with a lot of Beef. The Iced Tea was like a Tea Shake. Just the right mixture of Tea, Milk and sugar. Very refreshing and tasty.

Will definately be back.

Best thai food I've had in the area, very freindly staff and very nice quiet location. Sat outside on a perfect summer night overlooking talcott mountain and really enjoyed the food and the whole experience. Will deffinately be going back.

Great food. Friendly service. Nice small Thai restaurant. My favorite dishes are the drunken noodles and papaya salad.

The massaman curry was great. I got it as only medium hot and it was pretty spicy, which I really liked. I’d be wary of the Thai spicy hot level!

Great for lunch or dinner! They have very authentic and delicious Thai noodle dishes and their Thai Iced Teas are excellent! Highly recommend!

Awesome drunken noodles. I got them Thai spicy and they came threw with some heat. Not like most places when you ask for hot and get a spicy mild.

Excellent traditional Thai cuisine. Love the hot curries, but beware of 'Thai spicy" heat level.
