Big Y World Class Market

This a the perfect store if you are in to your very own store sponsored shadow. Not only will they not speak to you, but they will stand over your shoulder, and watch as you ring every item out in the self check out. While the front end supervisor stands at his letecturn enjoying his voyeuristic fantasies of Domination. Please keep in mind that I did have a sweatshirt on and dirty work boots as it is fall.

Words of advice: should you go to this store please wear your Sundays best if you don't want to feel like someone is watching you or starring over your shoulder.

Big y was clean and neat employees were hopefully and an easy to find the items my wife needed

I'm here at least once a week. Love their selection, they have the best " party wings" I've found

Big Y is a staple of Connecticut. They virtually always have Driscoll's strawberries, and their chocolate chip cookies are very good. My mom says the pizza is pretty mediocre. It's well organized, and the people who work there are nice. It's got some nice end caps with local products :)

Their bakery is out of this world. The chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is to die for. 10/10 would recommend.

A far as grocery stores go in this part of Connecticut , Big-Y is one of the better stores , they always seem to be clean and well organized. Selection is always really good. Bakery and Deli is very nice, baked goods are excellent.. Checkout is almost always a non event. The Cheshire Ct location is without a doubt my favorite. I is quite literally like shopping at a grocery store that is owned by your family or best friend. EVERYONE is super friendly and helpful. I don't get to that store very often since I moved across the state, but miss it. They have a man named Roy that works in the lot. He is so much more than a man that get the shopping carriages, he ALWAYS says hello, always asks "hi , how are you ? so nice to see you again!! I will help you load your car if you like when you come out!"

Stop & shop, Shop Rite??? I have never had a grocery shopping experience that even comes close.

Ordered a sub platter from their catering menu recently and it was fantastic! Easy over-the-phone ordering, super fresh & great quality. Will definitely be using Big Y Avon catering again.

Great experience. The minute I walked in I was greeted by a friendly face, a nice hello bro, and a fist bump. I had a smile on my face for nearly the entire time I was in the store. Now that’s customer service.

There are a lot of choices for grocery stores in the Farmington Valley but Big Y is consistently the best place to go. The stores are clean and modern. They are well stocked (even in this crazy Covid world). They offer a really good variety in most food categories. They have good prices and sales. Their bakery is really good - soooo much better than Stop & Shop. I also really like their pizza shop. They have a great beer section too. Most of their employees are long-term employees- I've been seeing the same cashiers and managers for years- and I like that because they are very friendly.

Big Y is always an A#1 grocery store to shop!! Plenty of inventory, store is always very clean, well lit with friendly staff. The store's prices are a little high, however their products are always the best especially produce!! There are never any rotten or in the stage of decomposition fruits or vegetables in the bins. Parking is plentiful and well lit.

I especially enjoy shopping at big Y. It's a big market with a small market feel. They have great meat and seafood departments, with an amazing selection of fresh fish, shellfish and custom cuts of meat. The butchers recommend cuts and offer cooking tips and they are always running specials. They also have the nicest local produce around. Big Y always carries a wide variety of seasonal/ holiday specialties. The employees are very helpful and make customers feel like they matter.

This is a great store with a greatly improved deli featuring higher quality selections. The silver card is a great buy to get discounts on many things and is free for seniors! Good bakery and huge selection of all items. Convenient parking and plenty of staff.

Love shopping at the Big Y. Family owned, friendly helpful staff and competent check out chashiers. Great produce and meat selections. Natural foods section, bakery and sushi stand made fresh daily. Prices better than stop and shop. Even better sale prices with silver rewards card.

On my last trip to the Avon big y I was looking for a certain cheese, and the deli employee went out of his way to try and help me.
I love shopping there particularly in the fresh produce and cheese and the fish and meats;. Everything is so clean and orderly and the people are helpful.

Awesome , as always! . I was looking for an special pastry ( macarons)and I found it here , so Big Y ,it's awesome . Clean , organized, love it love it !.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that Big Y had many items on their shelves that I was unable to find at the usual grocery store where I *stop to *shop for our needs. I was able to find bread, water and SOME paper and cleaning products. Even Walmart didn't have those. If you are reading this in March of 2020, you know what this means. Even the other customers were kind and cordial to each other. Again, this is a sharp contrast to what I experience elsewhere, even before the pandemic paranoia began. I'll be visiting more.

One of.my favorite locations to shop. Clean and usually well stocked. Great sales..don't forget to go to their website and get coupons. Digital coupons save you more.
