If you want fancy this isn’t it , but if your a lover authentic Tex mex BBQ this is your place . It’s a very relaxed atmosphere with a solid following . I had the Burnt ends with baked beans and the best battered fries this world has to offer. my wife had a really good cheese burger and garden salad. Our waitress was friendly and attentive . Everything was exactly as it should be and the house sauces were delicious . This place earned my business in a zillion different ways . I’ve been to allot of different BBQ places all over the country and this place is legit in all the right spots . Delicious down home cooking .

Hadn't been there in years.
A group of us went on a Saturday night, I had called ahead and made reservations. We arrived about 45 minutes early, I asked the hostess if she could seat us, and she said no problem and found my group of 4 a table.
The food was fantastic, and the staff was very friendly.

Been here many times the food is always great, love that they serve tortilla chips while you are waiting for your food. Had the special this time, it was pulled pork and enchilada with some side dishes too. The food was great and the portion sizes are nice and big!

If you want to enjoy some amazing BBQ, look no further than this gem of a restaurant. With great prices attentive friendly staff and a decor and atmosphere that will make you feel like you're eating at your best friend's mom's house. Make sure to order the burnt ends for a starter. Highly recommend the Ribs and kielbasa combo!

This place is fantastic! Top quality food, friendly staff, and a gorgeous view on the drive here. The chicken wings are smoked, then fried & sauced, they are a must-try. I love the hot honey flavor but all are good. The BBQ offerings are excellent and so is the Mexican food!

BEST Tex - MEX in Connecticut with an authentic "PIT". Not a franchise. Locally owned and operated. Tony & Liz have been running this since Woody left and whether you're looking for "meats" or Mexican, you can't go wrong! Stop down an visit when near Bantam Lake.

Wood Pit is a local jewel with its own authentic vision of Western BBQ and Tex Mex. It is a place that celebrates localness which some of the Karen reviewers just don’t get. The margaritas are amazing and the enchiladas and burritos remind me of back country tavernas in Southwestern Colorado. Ignore the negative reviews. This place is amazing!

Great local restaurant with awesome food and service.i had the pulledpork enchiladas special, it was delicious also had wings that had great flavor and the can make them hot or mild which ever you prefer. Drinks were good and I would definitely recommend stopping in and enjoying a great time.

Absolteutly BOMB ribs. Fall off the bone is absolutely right, delicious, great sauce (and the 1/3 rack I brought home was great the next day too). Super friendly service, food came out quick and the waitress and bartender were really kind.
The margs flavor wise were very good (though they were a little weak), don't let that stop you from getting the best BBQ around.
Oh and the absolute best cornbread I've had in my life (fluffy but with flavor, doesn't fall apart, but not too cake like)

Best wings around. Was pleasantly surprised at the Smoky flavor. Getting the extra crispy is perfect. The BBQ is great. The Mexican is OK.

We were in area after a tasting at Litchfield Distillery (recommended) and wanted some food late on a Saturday afternoon. Went for nachos with pulled pork and a couple of beers. The pulled pork was excellent so then we split a brisket platter, also excellent with good if small sides. We sat in the bar area, very relaxed atmosphere. If you like BBQ you have to try it! Very authentic taste.

Warning this food will become a craving! Everything I've tried off the menu is perfect. The staff are very attentive and the food always comes out in a timely fashion. Great place to grab an adult drink or dine in with family and friends in the separate "dine-in" area away from the bar.

Wood's Pit has the best barbecue and Mexican food in Litchfield County. Fall off the bone ribs, tasty pulled pork and my favorite, beef chimichanga..many sides and apps to choose from with a real country atmosphere..8/21/22, stopped in again and had the beef chimichanga with sides of Mexican rice, refried beans and guacamole and it was still remarkable and very filling.. my friend had the chicken who remarked that it was very tender and delicious.
Our server/bartender was great too!

Been here several times, we live 45 minutes away but whenever we're in the area we always stop here. Food is incredible, definitely a hidden gem! So glad they made it through covid

Family favorite spot to bring the kids. The staff is just amazing and we enjoy every visit with them.

The pulled pork is so juicy and tender. Amazing. The French fries crispy on the outside, tender potato on the inside. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Great BBQ food.

All my family enjoy so much the delicious food and the service always they treat you with respect and they make you feel like family is the best place to go to eat delicious BBQ flavor food .

I am a local and this is my FAVORITE spot in town! Best BBQ around and incredible Mexican options too with mix&match potential. Always serves you delicious chips and salsa to start, the drinks are on the cheaper side and are great, & the happy hour specials are a steal. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Food is always 10/10 and my only wish is that they were open more days of the week. LONG LIVE THE PIT! 🤘❤
