Jones Mountain Preserve

A great little 2 mile (ish) hiking spot. Very well blazed and it affords a scenic view of downtown New Hartford. Make sure to stay on trail as it is adjacent to a sportsman's club.

Perfect for beginners looking to step up their game from "flatter" hikes like sessions woods or white memorial.

Try to find the fork in the road, you will know it when you see it.

This place is great for hiking. Part of it is very uphill and if your not used to hiking like that, it can take alot out of you. Also part of the trail is closed so its alittle easy to get lost but you can find your way back with the marked trees. It's not a paved path either. It's a human made foot path.

Great short hiking loops. Wonderful view of the Farmington river valley overlooking New Hartford. The foam done foundation is a short diversion. Parking is easy to spot from the road and trails are well marked. Private land and hunting areas surrounding the trails so keeping on the trail is advised. Happppy hiking...
