Cute little cafe and sundries store in quaint Washington Depot! Small selection of food items, but all sure to be good. The smoked salmon sandwich is usually top notch. Highly recommend the lamb gyro when it’s available. Also, don’t forget to grab a cookie as they are delicious!

Hallelujah! The best, most flavorful food we ate on our two-week trip from NC to Maine and back. Staff was so helpful and conversational. The clam chowder was like nothing I've eaten before.

Gourmet sandwiches - it is so challenging to select and they kindly offer to make me two half sandwiches. Something tells me that I was not the first customer tortured by their choices! Also enjoyed fresh soups and desserts. If you can’t find something to love there is probably something wrong with you! Yummy

Only spot I can find outside of New York City but within my new environs (North New Haven County) where I can buy Stilton Cheese from UK. Super.

I neglected to add the prepared food items are very delectable. Late Fall or Early Spring outdoor seating is a pleasure.

I never knew how special a sandwich could be until today. Quite simply, the best sandwich I have ever had. And the staff is just as special as the sandwich. Thanks so much for the excellent experience!

While there was a bit of a wait to get sandwiches here, it was probably the best sandwich I’ve ever had! Bread was made in house and so fresh. I got the turkey with cheese and I believe a dill spread of some kind. Regretfully I didn’t take any photos but would definitely come back again.

I have had many delicious meals here, big and small, and will continue to do so. It is the first place I come when I want a good smoked salmon! Their homemade breads and cakes are delicious and they are a pleasure to work with as caterers. Highly recommend!

This is where I buy my carrot cake! And also a terrific chocolate mousse cake, and freshly baked goods too. You can buy a slice-to-go, or order a birth cake ahead of time. Zoe also makes terrific soups that change with the seasons, and delicious salads. Do order ahead to speed up your pick-up, and you might end up buying some cookies too!

We have been eating from The Pantry for years. The food is consistently excellently prepared and beautifully presented. The classic menu seems not to have a single item that isn't delicious. The selection of kitchenwares, homemade sorbet, and packaged delicacies is well thought-out and super convenient. As good as the food is at The Pantry, it is the staff that makes it each visit a pleasure. Zoe, Keith, and the rest of the team are invariably friendly, accommodating, and hard working. At a time when everyone is understaffed and overworked The Pantry is doing its best to keep things moving smoothly and with kindness. There can sometimes be a line for service, but that is because the food on offer here is the best and worth the wait. The Pantry served us well through the pandemic, holidays, and every weekend. We are lucky to have them and grateful for every bite.

Came in feeling average - left feeling fabulous. Got wonderful hostess gift for weekend away, a quart of apricot almond chicken salad, fresh bread loaf, and made while sipping coffee.

There's nothing I can say about this place without sounding like I'm their P.R. person. It's extraordinary in every way. Nothing in this part of CT compares. GO!!

We LOVE The Pantry! The food is excellent, the best take out / catering / desserts in the area. Don’t even get me started on the ice cream! Or the quiches. The staff are delightful. We are never disappointed. The Pantry is our family’s go to for lunch and appetizers especially when hosting.

The Pantry never disappoints! The food is delicious and the service is always personal and friendly. My current favorite entree is the Eggplant Lasagne. I can't resist the New England Clam Chowder, even on a warm day like today. It's so comforting. It's challenging to select a favorite sandwich; the smoked salmon on multi-grain bread edges out the other tasty selections. I'll save my other favorites to share another time. Thank you to Zooey and Keith and all the terrific staff!

The Pantry is THE BEST - highly recommend! Best sandwiches in Litchfield county! Zoe and her team have done an amazing job- All of the bread (including GF) is homemade, great baked goods, delicious meals, nice cheese selection, and homemade ice creams! Great little curated kitchen shop that's perfect for gifts and a variety of really good gourmet foods. The food is always consistently delicious, service beyond helpful and friendly. Great for catering and take out or eat in. Cute little cafe and really pretty garden seating area. Out of town guest continuously request to come here for lunch - its really good and if your are from out of town its worth the trip!

The Pantry has been an institution in Washington for decades. It is such a special place. The food is great, the shop itself is full of wonderful cooking, baking, and serving ware, and both the old and new owners were and are lovely. It can get crowded at peak hours, but that’s because it’s so good and reliable. And I don’t know how I’d have gotten through the pandemic without them - they stayed open and fed all of us throughout those long months, working tirelessly with good cheer and terrific food. Thank you!

This family owned small business always serves delicious food, handcrafted desserts and has an extensive cheese and kitchenware selection. You will always find something wonderful for lunch or to bring home for dinner. The smoked salmon sandwich is my favorite!!

My family and I spent a month in Washington Ct. Literally we ate at the pantry all the time. The food is absolutely delicious. The sorbet, especially the mango is incredible. The staff are super friendly. The chef makes this place legendary. A gem in my book. Thank you for wonderful meal..

The Pantry is a most extraordinary place, much more than a restaurant and gourmet, home-cooked, fine food destination. For decades, it's been an oasis in the Depot, and beyond. We are on our third generation of family members loving what Keith and Zoe create, and thanks to a warm and welcoming staff, it's our home away from home. Quiche, curried chicken salad, Panko-crusted chicken and more, are weekly staples for us and they have honored by daughter's intolerance of American gluten by using Italian flour in some of their dishes. I cannot recommend the Pantry enough; if you have not tried their food, go now.

I've had lunch twice in the last few weeks at The Pantry. Each time, the food was delicious (especially the smoked salmon sandwich - amazing) and the staff was exemplary. I'm so glad they've figured out a way to reduce the wait time for pick-up; that'll help a lot. In this area, The Pantry stands out as a great lunch spot!
