I’m so glad I found this vet! The first thing I noticed walking in is how clean the hospital is. I’ve been to a few vets but this was by far the cleanest. I went in recently because my boy had a lump on his leg. Dr. Mytas took time to explain all of my options, and didn’t push me to make a specific decision. In the end, I asked him to take a sample and I was pleased by the low price and the peace of mind that my boy is alright. Brianna was also amazing! My dog is very nervous at the vet, and Brianna was so sweet and gentle with him. He absolutely loved her, and she even came out to check on him while we waited for the test. The admin staff are also very polite and personable. Always a great experience. How could you not trust a vet in BARKhamsted?

The Winsted hospital for animals was highly recommended to me and it was a great experience. The vet was great with my dog and very helpful working with me. The two vet techs were amazing, they got me a lot of extra information to help with my dogs care. My dog is extremely anxious and afraid around new situations and they were so good with him. By the time he left he was pretty relaxed and it's the best I've seen him react!

We have used these vets for our animals for 40 years now. They are always kind and responsive, giving great advice and realistic expectations about prognosis and the best way to care for a beloved pet. As costs for veterinarian services increase exponentially, it is difficult to envision how today’s young families will be able to continue to shoulder this financial burden. I truly hope a solution to this is found so folks can continue to bring pets into their homes and to care for them properly. Winsted Animal Hospital was always realistic and reasonable. We love taking our dogs here. We feel like they are in very good hands and are well cared for. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and always wanting to help! We highly recommend!

Dr. Maytas and his tech took very good care of our puppy during his first visit. We had the same vet for 10 years with our last dog but since we've moved we hadn't needed vet services until we got our puppy, Ranger Dave. I was pleased with their service.

Dr Battista is the most caring and knowledgeable vet. I have been taking all my fur babies to Winsted Hospital for Animals for over 25 years.

Have been a client for decades with never a bad experience. Excellent care for all my pets. This includes 30 years during which I was very active in dog shows and also had several rescue cats. The photo is Lily, age 16 and very spoiled.

Best vet clinic you can bring your pet to. On the pricier side but so worth it! Typically they do have a long wait list.

I love the team at Winsted Hospital for Animals. The entire staff is friendly and attentive. They work hard to squeeze you in if at all possible. I also find their prices reasonable. We have been clients for the past 23 years and plan to continue. GREAT STAFF!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They Veterinarian spent a lot of time with us, answered all our questions and was very clear with his answers.

The veterinarian assistant knew my dog, was able to calm her down and even get kisses from her. She made her feel comfortable as the veterinarian did her exam, gave her the rabies shot and did the needle biopsy type thing on some bumps my dog has. The veterinarian took her time, explained everything in lame terms per se, not like words I did not know or just vet terms. She took time out to check everything before we left the office.

All the staff I've encountered are caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated to their patients and families. About 5 years ago we had to put our Corgi, Darby, to rest. All of her life, the care she received at WHA was all we could have asked. They were gentle and supportive as always during our sad time on her last day as well. Now our cockapoo Macy has been a happy patient there for the last 4 years. Dr. Maytas is wonderful, and the new remodel looks great.

Dr. Mary Battista and the staff at Winsted Animal Hospital are top notch. They are so loving and caring of our Molly and they are very compassionate of the of us, Molly's Dog Mom & Dad. We travel 20 minutes to get there and highly recommend them.

Dr Battista is always there for her patients. She's knowledgeable and gentile with our cats. The staff is kind and considerate with our precious kids as well. I am also happy to say they are well organized behind the scenes which helped when I had a problem recently.

The staff at Winsted Hospital for Animals is top notch. Everyone is compassionate and cares about your pet’s health. Dr. Maytas is exceptional. He makes sure you know everything that is going on with your pet’s health and all options for their care, and is very gentle with his patients.

We have been taking our pets to Winsted Hospital for Animals for over 30 years! I just took my 15 year old dog in yesterday because he was having some problems. Was able to get in the same day and the follow-up has been impressive. Everything has been explained clearly and in detail.

My dog Chester was a patient at Winsted Hospital For Animals for 8 years after we rescued him at the age of 6 when he was abandoned. Dr. Stuart and all the staff were amazing from day 1 and my Chester actually loved going to the Doctor! In April he was diagnosed terminal with 2-3 months. He made 2 1/2. He was treated with amazing care and unfortunately the end turned very fast and ugly and Dr. Stuart and staff immediately came to his/our aid. Dr. Stuart and the staff were comforting to him and to us. They all went above and beyond. I would highly recommend! Thank you all so very much for the incredible care and love for your patients especially our Chester!

We have been entrusting our truly dear pets (right now 1 dog and 1 cat) for 3 decades to the Winsted Hospital for Animals and this group of doctors are a great caring team (we really appreciate Dr. Donahue). The vet aid staff are wonderful to interact with and, of course, Sue and Judy (who are both long time front desk persons) and the others are a wonderful pleasure to deal with. They are all naturally caring, very pleasant and patiently competent in what they do. Very happy!

Excellent and friendly staff. Very thorough and informative. Plus they are very local to new Hartford. I would recommend them to everyone in the area!
