Bartlem Recreation Area

Diverse playground that is *actually* good for all ages. Some equipment I have never seen anywhere else. My toddler can be slow to warm up to new playgrounds, but she took to this place right away. There is a public restroom across the parking lot and two separate pavilions with tables.
2024 update: They added a giant spider web for bigger kids. Bathrooms are open only from April 1 - November 1.

Great place to bring kids. The community pool is suitable for kids of all ages. Non residents can also get annual passes which is really nice.💯✅

Great pool which is never completely full unless the team is there. The water is nice and they have an abundance of lifeguards. There's snacks and drinks for after your done swimming. The pool has varying depths for people with varying swimming levels. I 100% recommend.

My kids love the park and taking swim lessons here.

Great place for swimming. I've been to plenty of birthday parties here, and my daughter recently had her party here as well. The kids loved it! They always do. Parties are a great price for 25 kids as well. They have a lot of fun slides and obstacle courses as well.

Best park around! Many different types of things to play on for different age groups. My kids like the tire swing. Has picnic tables where you can bring food and relax.

My family and I love going to this park! The playscape for the kids is great, it's one of the largest we go to and has a ton of different activities for the kids. The park is always clean and in the summer time there is plenty of areas with shade if the kids (or parents) want to get out of the sun for a minute. The big open field next to the playscape area is great for the kids to just run away and get some energy out, or play a sport as well. Overall I think this is one of the best parks we go to!

There was another free concert last night that the town puts on and the weather agreed again There were alot of people there that enjoyed the music and food from food trucks.

Beautiful park and community pool. They are currently constructing a large sports complex in the field next to the pool.

I visited just to get an idea of what it is like and I must say, I will be taking my kids there. I was very clean, people were there and it was still quite. Not rowdy like other public pools😀

We have driven by this park many times but we have never driven in. This past weekend our granddaughter's Lacrosse team attended a Lacrosse Jamboree there. We were very impressed with the park. It was very massive and clean. Cheshire is very lucky to have a place like that.

Best public pool I've ever been to! Well worth the money for a membership. I'm glad there are nice places like this nearby to go and spend time with my son, or just destress on my own. Great staff!

Wonderful community park, I've taken my grandchildren to this park since they were to young to walk. We have enjoyed the swimming pool and two weeks ago watched the boys play T ball -- such a great place for all ages. The summer evening concerts are well attended by folks both young and old.

Great place to take your kids. Nice clean area with plenty for any age child to explore. There's everything from simple swings to climbing. Plenty of seats for the grown-ups to relax on while you watch the little ones.

I love this park and go there several times a week where i meet my friend. We walk around the path and park area until we hit 3 miles and enjoy the lovely scenery. They are always cleaning and grooming the park and keep it beautiful. Before covid i used to take my grandchildren to play and they loved it. A great addition to Cheshire.

Safe place for the kids to get some exercise, everything from young to teenage, playground,baseball field, skate park, a list of rules for the park is posted... And law officers do their rounds often to make sure our children are safe and sticking to the rules. Thank you cheshire for providing a place for our growing youth...

Great place to go swimming. There's swimming lanes, diving boards and an obstacle course. There's is also a skate park area and playground as well. Definitely a good place for them family.

Beautiful playground w/ ample parking. Playground has numerous areas for all age groups including toddler-> teen. Grounds are nicely kept and Cheshire PD has surveillance cameras running for nice added peace of mind. Large parking lot and there are always events going on that families can attend. Pool was a waste of taxpayer money though.....

Great park for toddlers to age 10. Bigger kids don't have a ton of options other than the fields. I did see a frisbee golf course (3 goals I could spot). There is a community pool available (at a fee of course) but it is accessible year round.

2yr and 7yr loved the play ground, best one we have found in CT so far. fully gated(as long as they are shut behind the user), 2-teenager, seating area , shaded areas 2 picnic areas.
