Never disappointed with this food chain. Fabulous deli & hot food bar dept. Sale prices are amazing with pleasant services, every time.

I wanted to share my experience Today at the Cheshire, Big Y. I met Ms. Catherine in the bakery. I was a little distraught due to the service I had received at another bakery, and my Request was a little spur of the moment. Ms. Catherine took care of me and accommodated me. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely be a returning customer due to the service I received today.

My favorite grocery store. Always clean and well-stocked with super nice employees and a convenient location.

If I’m not buying in bulk, you can’t beat Big Y. They always have what I need, and they have pretty good sales/coupons/deals. I particularly enjoy their floral department, and they have fresh produce coming every day except Thursdays and Sundays.

Cheshire Big Y staff is always friendly and take pride in working here. Fresh fish! They try to carry local vendors. My go to grocer.

The store is beautiful, clean and organized. Little bit of cultural items. Great meat and seafood department. Bakery is fabulous. I love this store but it's a bit pricey for me. Coupons bring me in. They stock a ton of organic fruits and veggies.Staff are kind and respectful of our wants and needs.

I needed a prime rib roast for a family party and called ahead to pre order. Rachel in the meat department was awesome to work with ! The prime rib was fantastic! Highly recommended Big Y! Thanks for all your help Rachel

Very good pizza, surprised a grocery store could turn out such a tasty dish,, the dough was fresh and sauce well seasoned,, reasonably priced too! Will definitely order again when I see a Big Y.

Best staff ever! A little pricey but the helpful staff more than make up for the higher prices. You have to know your prices and buy things in bulk when they are on sale because the buy one get two free sales are great! Today the glass bottle return was full and I left my bag full of bottles to return by the machine and while I shopped the assistant manager put them all through for me and handed me my receipt just as I was going back to do them! Amazing! Always go above and beyond for customers!

Wonderful Fresh & frozen GF foods. Great produce; beautifully displayed. I was relieved to find delicious GF and Peanut Free baked goods. So happy to find grain free cat food & natural cat litter options. The staff work very hard to keep everything squeaky clean and provide the best customer service.

This store is clean, well laid out and has incredibly friendly staff. They have some really wonderful products and a wide variety of interesting foods. Great deli, butcher, and fish counter, and they give excellent advice.
I spend less and get better quality than when I used to patronize a "super-store."
Grocery shopping has turned into a pleasure! They serve free coffee and you have a chance to "spin" a computerized slot game to win a discount and there is an old-fashioned bell to ring as you leave -- just enough little gimmicks to add interest.
I drive past at least one competitor to go to Big Y in Cheshire -- so worth it!

A surprisingly good selection for a store this size. They always have duck and lamb, fancy tonic for my Hub's G&Ts, great service from really nice people at the deli and meat counters, decent bakery... This is my favorite local grocery store.

Cheshire Ct Big Y is excellent. There staff is super friendly ALL the time. Store is always clean as can be . Drive out of my way to shop there .
Try there prepared food , it is always very hot , fresh and delicious...great when we need home cooking on the spot.

Best grocery in Cheshire. Pricey of course but high quality and many unique products, in-house prepared foods, bakery items, meat, fish and produce are well worth the premium. Helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Worth an extended drive from Hamden if you are into quality.

This store is always clean with helpful staff. We enjoy getting cooked meals from the seafood department. But one of the best assets is the older gentleman who works collecting carriages, offers to help put bags in the car, and is one of the friendliest person I have ever met. I always forget his name, but it is Ray or Roy. I always forget, but I recognize him when I see him smiling and greeting EVERY customer with a smile and a kind word.

Big y was GREAT today with their specials, which is why me and my pocketbook goes there!! The $.99 grapes are delicious!! I even found a Daisy Ham Roll, which I haven't seen for YEARS!! I was VERY satisfied at BIG y today!!
