Koto Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar

This place is one of our favorite hibachi /sushi places !! The food is always amazing and the chefs are very entertaining (especially Jon he always has us cracking up) From the moment we walk in the door they make us feel welcome!
Can't say enough good things about this place!

Yum Yum Yum!!!! This was a nice surprise. The waitress and our hibachi chef were great! The food was all fresh and very tasty. Everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was so so good. And, the salad they serve, is amazing. Small bowl, the dressing is Yum O! Three of us ordered from the hibachi entrees and one from the kitchen entrees. All food was excellent. From the time we sat down, to the food being prepared and we paid and left , it was a little over an hour. They have it down to a science. There were 8 total hibachi tables in the middle of the restaurant. Two chefs worked one side preparing and serving patrons. Once they were finished and those patrons were eating they started on our side. Will definitely be back next month for my birthday celebration!!!

The one gripe: 18% gratuities were included in the tip (since we had a large group) which was not OBVIOUSLY clear on the credit card receipt with tip and signature lines and they ask you to “fill this out” and sign.

A great dinner-and-a-show!! We had a big group of people including vegetarians, family with gluten-allergy and a bunch of starving tweens- and Koto was the perfect choice. Everyone ate their fill and enjoyed the show.

Good place to go. Had the hibachi, they cooked in front of us truly amazing tricks. Only thing we didn't like was that we ordered 3 deserts and instead of everyone being on the same page the order goes on and about 5 minutes later someone comes out to say that 2 of 3 desserts were unavailable at the time so we talked and decided to cancel my dessert and that way we can all eat somewhere else. That took less than a min we then told someone that we wanted to cancel they told someone else and she came to us with an attitude then proceeded to tell the owner and she was 💯 in understanding and we left.

Koto has been around for almost 20 years now, and has always been a great lunch, dinner, sushi bar and more. The Hibachi selection is standard fare but has a couple things I have not seen elsewhere. The sushi selection is amazing but a lot of it seems small if you're used to grocery store sushi. The value is top notch though because the prices seem like they haven't changed since opening, especially compared to other Japanese steak houses. Superior food for not too much more than fast food prices!

My daughter and husband have eaten here multiple times and finally dragged me in. For the money, they charge its a lot of food if you order the hibachi. The flavor of everything was spot on and will be partaking again soon.

We got sushi and had a waitress named Ashley. It was very pleasant and the service was very quick. I loved how our waitress was quick to recommend certain items and was very polite. The food was delicious and I would recommend anyone to come and try this out

Excellent, sushi.. I love the online ordering it's super easy. My family really enjoyed the lunch we had at Koto. We will definitely be back again.

Food is always very good, my son loves the show! If they had yum yum sauce it'd be perfect!

Food was so good, loved the hibachi. The staff were all very attentive and kind. If you have a friends birthday coming up i definitely recommend coming here and letting your server know it is your friends birthday.

Great hibachi grill! Our xmas party was large so we had 2 chefs. For our chef, what he lacked in aim he made up for in personality. Super talented! The other chef was a deadeye aim! Super fun place to eat! Not inly that but the food was absolutely delectable!!

Wonderful place to eat, staff is very respectful and polite. Food is amazing, you watch them make it in front of you. They put on a little show as they cook, very unique and different. This place is very clean. I would recommend very highly. I have nothing bad to criticize at all.

If you looking for a nice Japanese style restaurant and you in the area of Groton CT I definitely recommend this place. Our chef was professional and had some amazing skills when it came to a fast cooking and egg flipping.
He interacts with us and the flavor was exquisite. They are considered and ask everyone in the table of their FOOD ALLERGIES . That's a plus.

Koto is our go-to sushi place in the New London/Groton area! It's delicious, good value for money sushi and hot entrees. I highly recommend their chicken katsu, but only if you dine in! If you get it delivered, it's likely to be soggy and not as good. Sushi here is fantastic, you really can't go wrong.

The food is always very good and the service is top notch! We drive an hour to come here for the hibachi and they never disappoint.

We went back and it is very clean in there. The food was very good. The service was great. The hibachi was alot of fun.

Started off with sushi that was very good. The drinks were good also. Had hibachi and the steak,shrimp, scallops and lobster were perfect. Great place for lunch or dinner.

5 stars on the dining in food. It's a night and day difference for takeout sushi vs dine-in sushi here.

I waited a couple minutes at the door during lunch time. The salmon lovers combo I got was so fresh it was incredible. The ginger was also incredible, it was almost sweet but had enough acidity to completely cleanse the pallet between bites.

Ordering out her is a 3.5 to 4. The rice isn't as fresh and the fish is just not the same level as what it is when you dine in.

I will be coming back.
