Just arrived in Boston to visit wifey's Fam and tomorrow we're hitting relatives in Mystic- lunch then boating for the afternoon. Told her about diving in to this place on the way back to Hull and she says 'oh we can't they'll be closed.' You've got to love gaming stores and those 11:00pm close times. See you guys then.

Update- Was able to hit this place today. An absolute E Ticket ride! Goldmine for strategy war games and only a miniscule Bolt Action section. Win-win! Picked up a SWEEET copy of Proud Monster for dirt cheap.

Outstanding game store! There is something for everyone and they even have space and tables to play games. They have the largest collection of historical war games anywhere. BoardGame geek fans will love this store. They have a very large collection of popular board games. RPG games of every genre and minis of every type. The owners are super friendly and helpful. No hard sell at all only engaging to ask how they can help. Check this store out if you are into games. The owners really care about customers and it shows.

I travel for work and have had the opportunity to visit many game stores. Wherever I go, if time allows, I look for local shops and try to visit them. Citadel Game Cellar is a true old school gem! It has all the new games and vast array of old ones. Had I not been pressed for time I could have spent hours going through the shelves. The shop owner is also friendly and helpful. It was surprising to learn the game Axis and Allies was literally created in this shop well before being grabbed by Milton Bradley.

There are plenty of other photos to show you the store, I will show what I found. On the shelf was the Judge Dredd RPG Companion by Games Workshop from 1987. This was MINT and likely hadn’t been cracked open in a decade. I have NEVER seen a copy in person but here was one in brand new condition waiting for a home which I gave it. It was also $16.95 which is a far cry from the crazy prices online for used copies! This is the type of find you only get in a truly classic old time shop.

Got to Citadel Game Cellar and take an hour or two to hunt for treasure; you will not be disappointed.

Huge variety of games at the Citadel Game Cellar. Gaming tables and rooms are also available in the store. If you like games they're sure to have something you'll like. Go check them out and see for yourself.

The largest variety of games at a store I have ever seen. The owners & employees were very kind and inviting. Was in town for only a couple days and was able to browse and join in a game while I was there. If you're a gamer in town, definitely visit.

Wow! My wife and I were taking a drive to Mystic, and a friend recommended we stop in. Its the biggest gaming store iv seen. Everyone was helpful, I got the nickel tour when we walked in.

Large selection of board games and TTRPGs. It looked like there was several tables for gaming, and it sounded like a game was planned for the night. Prices were good, I bought an older out of print book for a couple dollars less then ebay, before shipping.

If my wife and I come up this way again, we will be stopping in again.

Fantastic store with so many game choices. Also, the largest assignment of minis I've found in a long time. They also have a lot of gaming events. I just wish it was closer.

I'm delighted to have found this store. Whereas most game shops focus only on the mainstream items, this place is an absolute treasure trove of old and new tabletop fun. With tons of RPG material, war gaming miniatures and board games, I easily lost track of time just browsing the aisles. So many game systems that I've never even heard of!

Love this board game shop. The staff are really knowledgeable about most of the different board games available, and there's a massive variety to choose from. Prices can be a bit higher than online, but that's worth it to support local shops like this.

One of the better games stores in the country. Found a couple gems in here, and it's the birthplace of Axis & Allies! Too cool!

My D&D group played here for a long time. It was always great and we never had any issues, whether we were renting out a private room or playing in the main room. The prices are good and everyone there is always so nice and helpful.

My favorite tabletop store in CT. They have a wide variety of games which is nice because many game stores only focus on newer games. By having this variety, we've been able to grab some older games from here that we've really enjoyed and haven't seen elsewhere. The staff is always very friendly and on multiple occasions have looked up reviews of games on BGG or YouTube how to play videos for us. Can't recommend them enough!

Friendly staff, great selection. My favorite all-time store for miniatures and MTG. I go almost every two weeks and I am always surprised by the great things they get in. Highly recommend!

We were skeptical of this place when we pulled in. But it honestly is a great shop with a lot of variety and plenty of space for playing games. There are regular events and tournaments as well which make it seem like a great place to spend time. The owner was also very kind as he chatted with us about our hobbies. He even sells at MSRP and the used games are very inexpensive. I cannot recommend this shop enough! It's over an hour away from me but I'm already excited to visit again.

Citadel is fantastic, back in high school there were two real shops in Groton, Citadel and Lanmar, citadel is still standing and still has everything that made It an awesome local game shop, and I've even gotten the chance to take my son there too. Support your local game shop!

Despite its off the road placement (unsurprisingly in a 'cellar') this store hits all the marks for a great local game store. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable on many genres, and very accommodating with special orders. They offer military discounts and a customer loyalty program. Most importantly, there are gamers here playing every day of the week, and the staff can put you in touch with like-minded players no matter what you play.

The selection of games, cards, miniatures and entertainment is incredible. Only complaint is the antiquated check out system. Takes a solid 5 minutes to purchase one item. Also plenty of table space to have a safe game environment.
