My husband and I went tonight and made some nice new friends at the bar. The food is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I had the rack of lamb. Wow. The best I’ve ever had. Bob got the “godfather “. Veal, meatballs and sausage over linguine. No one could believe he ate the whole thing. I would highly recommend you visit this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed. Congratulations to Frank on being a new Grampa

After checking out multiple places in the mystic area for a place to take my girlfriend for her birthday, I came across Frank's gourmet grille. Read the reviews and couldn't have said it better. This place was great. Doesn't look spectacular from the outside but dont let that fool you. Food was great, all perfectly cooked. Super flavorful and I know because I am very particular about food and have my own food Instagram page called @ted_eats. I love tryin new places. Will definitely go back again. The lobster lump crab cakes were not dry, moist, flavorful. Calamari was not over cooked great flavor not plain. My girl got the steak and she said it was one of the best she ever had. Thanks frank, for coming out and meeting us.

Salmon fillets was awesome. Absolutely phenonanal. Place was a little loud but people were having fun. Service was very attentive. We met the owner which was a nice touch
Creme brulee was 4 stars but tiramisu was close to perfection. Photos attached.

First, the staff and management are super-nice. We were 2 walk-ins on a Saturday at 7 without any free tables, but one was reserved with the people 20 minutes late. The manager asked if we'd wait for a little while and if they were no-shows, the table was ours. We lucked out. We each had the clear clam chowder (Rhode Island style) which was excellent, and not too salty, which happens at many places way too often. We also each had the half-rack of lamb -- crispy outside, tender inside. The owner/chef, Frank, dropped by our table and suggested this was better eaten by hand. He was right. The red bliss potato cakes were perfect and the veggie medley nicely steamed. Strong booze/coffee drinks for dessert. Staff and management regularly checked on us without being cloying.

The food was excellent, the ambience friendly, the noise manageable despite a birthday party. And the price very reasonable. You can get straight pasta as low as $20, prime rib or the lamb we had under $25.

If/when we return to Mystic, we're going back, but we'll reserve tables. You should, too.

One of our very first time eating out since the start of the pandemic - and we had a truly lovely experience. The staff was alert to our needs and were especially attentive to my father's requests. The food was well prepared, the portions were generous and our meals were tasty. Will visit again.

All of the reviews and word of mouth have been excellent so wanted to add my 2 cents! All I can say is food, cocktails, dessert were excellent. Sat. eve extremely busy but found found 2 seats @bar. Waited quite some time before we were waited on but understandable due to crowd. The wait was worth it. Escargot tasted exquisite. We both had prime rib cooked exactly as requested...could not have been better. Fresh crispy veggies and creamy rissoto. Dessert to go. I LOVE Frank's Gourmet Grille. I will definitely be returning ASAP! This place is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten. So happy they are only 5 minutes away.

This restaurant will never disappoint. Try the mussels or the crab cakes for an appetizer and the prime rib for the main course. Ask the male bartender to make his famous margaritas as well. I'm so glad we had found this place. Just wished that they allowed dining in the dining room other than Fridays and Saturdays.

I had heard raves about Frank’s for months. And it turns out that Frank’s is worthy of some very big raves! The food and service were really excellent! The ambiance (is that word still in vogue?) was none too shabby either. The menu choices were diverse and creative. The apps that preceded the entrees were served free-style at the bar: and were on the house! The menu contained many tried-and-true favorites of regulars, as well as interesting combos of ingredients and spices and sauces! I definitely plan on dining there again. The cocktails were prepared with great attention to detail and garnishing, but were no ‘fussy’ in any regard. It was a delightful experience in total, and I will recommend it to anyone seeking a fine, American dining experience with flourishes of continental cuisine.

Best food ever!! The Chicken Marsala was the best I've ever had and he said he could hold the mushrooms. No one ever does that. Thank you so much. My family had the Chicken Pot Pie and absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing. The wine was great. This was overall a fabulous experience and I am very tempted to ask if they will overnight the Chicken Marsala to New York just so I can taste it again. It was an amazing experience that my family and I will never forget.

My husband (we only married in July 2020) and I chose Franks as our first date night meal before seeing a movie in Mystic.
The last time I had been was Mother’s Day 2019, and of course, everything was fabulous.
Tonight was just as, if not better considering how long we’ve wanted to go, fantastic as I remembered.
Our server, Alyssa, was great and extremely friendly. My husband had a vodka soda and I opted for a cucumber martini, which I HIGHLY recommend.
We started with the pistachio goat cheese and the mussels. They were equally wonderful.
For entrees we had the rib-eye with a side of asparagus and the fancy scallops with the Duchess potatoes and a side of broccoli rabe.
Everything was great, and we were too stuffed for dessert.
Frank’s is (and always has been) an absolutely solidly consistent place to get lunch or dinner. The staff seemed in high spirits and happy which of course makes for an even more enjoyable time.
I’ve recommended Frank’s for years and will continue to do so. Some things are just that good and FGG is no exception.

My husband and I ate here this evening. The service was exceptionally great. Steve and Jessica made us feel very welcomed. The food was outstanding from the lobster crab cake appetizer, the seafood medley and the fried shrimp, everything came out piping hot and so so delicious! Recommend this place to anyone who comes to the area. Well worth it!!!

This place was outstanding. We had our office Christmas luncheon here and let me tell you, the chef, the staff, the food and the environment was phenomenal and cooked with perfection.

You have got to go here even if for nothing but lunch. This chef truly and I mean truly knows his stuff. Not only was the food served hot when it arrived but, it's presentation and portions was out of this world.

The seasonings were well thought out and not over the top. Frank's menu and specials offered were as good as they sounded when presenting them to our table.

Let's not forget the deserts and the appetizer menu's as well. Even if you can finish your plate, you may not want to. However, they will box it for you for later.

When you take it home, you might want to post a sign on it to the rest of the family Do Not Touch... Whether you are visiting the Casino's or you live in the area or Connecticut, you've got to try Frank's Gourmet Grill.

Plenty of parking, clean restrooms, handicap accessible and close to getting back on the highway. Another award winning restaurant. Good Luck Frank!!

Excellent service, our waitress heard my MIL mention our anniversary and congratulated us. The food was fabulous as always. The rack of lamb is my personal favorite while my husband loves lamb. I highly recommend the chocolate decadence for dessert if you like richer chocolate desserts.

The food was AMAZING! Our food was perfect and the drinks were great. It's obvious they have very high standards.
The two bartenders on duty tonight were so fast and friendly-they are a great team during a super busy night.
Frank is the chef and owner. He spent time with us giving recommendations, checking to see if we enjoyed our meals and making sure everyone around us was happy.
All around, the best!
