From the lady making the cashews and other praline nuts to the friendly staff at the checkout counter, everyone was extremely nice.
I liked the patriotism in the store, as well as the variety of different things you can get.

Franklin's is always a must visit when in Mystic. I'm sorry I don't have better pictures from my most recent visit, but I was too focused on looking around.

The store has a huge selection of jams, jellies, cheeses, sauces, condiments and more as well as books, items for the home and souvenirs. We also make sure to pick up a pound of fudge when we visit. Over the past 20+ years we have been coming to Franklin's the fudge has remained consistently delicious, which is a huge accomplishment in my mind. Often times places will change the recipe or start using cheaper ingredients but Franklin's fudge is just as creamy and flavorful now as it was the first time I came here. Highly recommend a stop for people in town or near by and don't forget to bring some fudge home!

This is what an old fashioned general store should be! From food, soaps, books, toys, decorations and more, you can find it all here.

I loved their wide assortment of goods, which made for a fun and interesting walk through the shop.

I found some great Christmas gifts here, and can't wait to come back in the future to pick up some more unique treasures.

The first time I went in here my cousin Judy had to stay outside because the smell of the fudge was irresistable. I decided to satisfy my curiosity and check it out. This place is huge!! Seriously, I could turn one corner and see something cool and then turn back around and see something I might have missed. I bought a fun Swing-A-Ring game (think handheld ring toss), and the second time I went back I bought a copy of "Phantasmagoria". Just the variety of cool stuff alone is impressive. Looks like I'll have to make a return trip and maybe try some of that fudge.

My daughter and i drove east via Rt 2 E from West Hartford to Mystic to catch a glimpse of the fading foliage in late fall of 2022.
My daughter wanted to see the old Mystic that she visited a number of times before with her class, from Webster Hill elementary to middle school to Saint Joseph College.
I was there once, a long forgotten time ago. So it was as good as my first visit. Old Mystic contained so many quaint stores that carried so many products with so many themes that harked to different time periods.
We spent most of our time at Franklin's General Store because we could finally find Connecticut produced items there that we could send to the Japanese family that adopted my daughter for the three years she spent teaching in Japan.
We found everything Connecticut that we needed to send to our friends in Japan who couldn't be impressed with anything less that's made anywhere else.
My daughter says we should move to Mystic. My mistake i say! I introduced her to the habit!

They have these little catnip fish that are handmade and my cats go crazy over.
That's the main reason I go here however they also have homemade fudge, so many flavors, great souvenirs, books, decor, snacks, fresh baked nuts, jams, teas, spices, sauce, sooooo much to pick from. Always clean, always pleasant employees. Great place!

Has everything you would think a general store should carry. From fudge to soap, and cheeses to dried and pickled goods, this store has it all. Check it out and see what you will find. My favorite thing to buy here are the prepackaged soup mixes, super easy to make and are always a hit for dinner time.

Franklin's has a little bit of everything and i think has to be the best part of Mystic Village. From magnets to cheese boards and pancake mixes they have it all. Friendly staff for the most part. A bit crowded but it adds to the charm. Main thing to go there for...the fudge. So many flavors. Delish!! They even give samples. A pound of fudge goes a long way. Highly recommend.

The manager in this store who may in all reality may be the owner was a delight. He was a very personable and soft sell on his name brand cheese, and some samples were provided that prompted a sale.... of a cheese above the normal. Additionally the store has a lot of cool items from local vendors that I would definitely recommend a bit of time to browse next time.

This is a really great place for a wide variety of fun things. I found military puns, decals, patches and bumper stickers. There were loads a puzzles, toys, magic tricks. In addition to my beloved rubber duckies, there are also the ubiquitous coffee cups and tee shirts with clever sayings. If you are in Mystic, be sure to stop!

I'm a Southern Maryland girl, but I've lived in CT for 2 years now. Olde Mistick Village is one of my favorite places to go. & it's a requirement that the hubby and I stop here before we leave. Even just to grab some of the sugared cashews. Yum! If it doesn't sell you as soon as you walk in.. By the time you walk through the store the smell will surely win you over! So good!

They have the best fudge in the world! Nothing beats it and I'm not a big fan of fudge but Franklin's General Store is an exception...much better than Nantucket who claims they're the best. No they're not!
