Cedar Falls Brown Bottle

Had a great time getting dinner here for my wife's birthday. Service was great, our waitress was kind, quick to bring our food/drinks, and did not check on us too much/not enough.

We got their mushrooms and goat cheese with bread for appetizers. My wife liked the mushrooms more and I liked the cheese/bread more but both were good in their own way. I got the roasted garlic pasta with chicken added in and it was delicious!
We also got drinks and I had the best Gin Rickey I've ever tasted here! It wasn't on the menu but after asking the waitress they made it for me and I ended up having a couple. Was a great time.

The Brown Bottle was a fabulous place to grab a team dinner! The atmosphere gives supper club vibes, but with a modern take. We had several appetizers, including the cheesy garlic bread and the crab dip, all of which were amazing! For my entree I chose the Peppered Bacon Pasta, which was
peppered bacon, chicken, and green onions with campanelle pasta in a creamy sauce with a touch of sweetness. It was amazing both fresh and leftover! For dessert, they had lemon cheesecake as their special. It was perfect to say the least! A strong lemon flavor throughout the cheesecake with a perfectly done crust!

I will definitely be coming back!

My favorite restaurant in Cedar Falls. It has an upscale feel, the food is excellent, and the service is great. The seating area is split up into smaller rooms so the table chatter is never too loud. If you are going to be in Cedar Falls for dinner I highly recommend this place. Plus they take reservations so you can call ahead. Update: still the best!

Our reservation was for 5 p.m. and we were seated immediately at a table overlooking the river. Alex, our waitperson, was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our party of four enjoyed the sautéed mushrooms and the crab dip with naan bread as appetizers. Both were delicious. I ordered the salmon with peach salsa and was quite pleased with this dish. It was flavorful and not too hot ( even though I like hot). I upgraded to the goat cheese salad and that was a hood choice. Tiramisu for dessert was light and airy, absolutely mouthwatering. We ordered a bottle of merlot, the merlot served by the glass. The vodka dirty martini was good, but should have had an olive. The atmosphere was cozy and the view great. The best recommendation is to return and I anticipate my next visit.

First time here, won't be the last. Food was great, I had the Seafood Lasagna, and my wife had the seasonal Butternut Squash Lasagna Special. We had the seasonal Pumpkin Bars for desert. Staff was very attentive and friendly/helpful. The restaurant as a whole was very clean, warm, & inviting. Restrooms were exceptionally clean as well. Our server Mitchell was awesome!!! Loved everything about our experience here, we'll definitely be back.

Easy to use website for reservations

We were back in town for Thanksgiving and decided to hit an old favorite. We didn't need to look at the menu as this was a popular date spot in high school, college, and in our 20's. It is great to see the gentleman that worked many nights for many years now has taken over the reigns. You have not missed a beat!

Atmosphere was very nice. Handicap parking was very good. Employees were very helpful to me as a disabled person. The food was excellent. The pumpkin bars dessert was amazing. Our waiter was outstanding.

The Brown Bottle features a contemporary atmosphere in black and gray with outside seating. We enjoyed an appetizer of sautéed mushrooms, a spring mix salad, garlic bread, sausage pasta, and lasagne which were all delicious and well-presented in our quiet corner of the restaurant. My companion and I agreed that the lasagne was a better choice as it was more flavorful. The garlic bread was perfectly done. Our server, Greg, was very accommodating and personable. We would gladly return on a future trip.

A lovely evening. My boyfriend planned a surprise dinner here for my birthday and the waiter was very accommodating! He helped make the evening so special. The waitress during the meal great as well. Food was good - large portions with a good amount of leftovers. The mojito and margarita tasted like they had fresh fruit/mint leaves in them. A free birthday brownie with frosting at the end was an added bonus! A very special night - thanks Brown Bottle :)

First off, the atmosphere here is super unique with many separate rooms. You're always guaranteed a quiet experience, and the views.... Beautiful, especially in the evening during winter.

Chicken dip was out of this world good. Drinks were amazing and mixed perfectly.

Spaghetti and meat sauce was my only let-down, but it was still decent and a large portion.

The chicken marsala and twice baked potato were both delicious, though I would've liked maybe a slightly larger portion of the potato. Nonetheless, amazing taste and beautiful presentation.

My little one got the kids pepperoni pizza which was REALLY tasty, although probably not going to fill up a kid past 5-6 years old.

Highly recommend, can't wait to explore more of the menu.

Benjamin (my waiter) was sensational. It was a nostalgia dinner for me. The Brown Bottle in Cedar Falls was a ‘go to’ spot for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, and other family celebrations. My favorite was the Gamberi Al Beurro, shrimp over garlic butter pasta that they’ve added dill to. My waiter got them to hold the dill so it was like I was used to. He also recommended the red cake cheesecake, which was delicious.

Great Italian and American food served promptly and piping hot. Handled our group of 9 perfectly. Our waitress was the best! She didn't rush us to finish or push too many drinks, which made our family time together even more relaxing and enjoyable. Well done overall. If I didn't live 200 miles away, I'd be back in a flash.

The food was EXCELLENT! Alex was our waiter and he was top notch. My ony issue was the way they calculate the tip Guide. We purchased a $75 bottle of wine for dinner. Being it was Monday we received the wine half price. When I got home I saw that the tip guide was figuring it on the $75 cost. I generally leave a 20% tip on the total price minus the sales tax. I guess I have better check the ticet closer the next time.

Had a party of 30 for my high school class reunion. The staff did an excellent job with the food and service and atmosphere. We all enjoyed the whole evening! Thank you so much!!
