We drove up from Cedar Rapids to check this store out. We were impressed with the variety of games, comics, and collectibles! Mike, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth the drive for us. We will be back!

I love going here. Mike, the owner, is always helpful and knowledgeable. Great selection of comics and graphic novels. Tatiana was excellent in giving recommendations, loved everything she told me to try reading. Always fun to nerd out here. Thanks y'all!

I walked into the store and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member... She noticed that I was pregnant and right away dropped everything to offer me a bottle of water and a seat. This level of service is not out of the ordinary at The Core, they always treat customers more like family members than customers!! The genuine hospitality and the level of knowledge about their product is something that you don't see at stores often. They also make sure to update me on what events they will be having in the near future, they are a wonderful presence in the Cedar Valley! Keep it up!!

this is the Best comic book store I have been to. they have everything that you are looking for. Mike the owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. he will help you with anything. I have been going there for over 17 years. you need to check it out for yourself. you will miss out if you don't.

EXCEPTIONAL staff and products. Everything they carry is amazing and high quality. They have a great selection of comics and games aswell as plushies, dice and action figures. I recommend anyone check out the core if they get a chance!!!

Was there 20 yrs ago. Not so much. Manga anymore but books to be found. No GITS but alot of Sailor Moon stuff. Big figurines and a $44 sailor moon Monopoly :)

Place is amazing. If they don't have it, they probably can order it for you. The guys working here are very knowledgeable about their items they sell. Friendly also.

Not the typical store I would go into but if you like comics or DND ect here is a store for you. Or if you are looking for a gift like I was they were very helpful.

We are visiting from Arizona and were looking for items to get signed at the convention we are going to. Let me just start by saying, when I called to ask about items in stock, I spoke with Zach and he was SO kind and helpful over the phone, we just had to go in. Then in person he was an amazing help. He went above and beyond for us and found us some awesome items! I absolutely recommend going here. Everyone we spoke with were so nice and humble. It was a great experience. Thanks again, Zach!!

I really liked this place. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a great selection of comics to choose from. If cards are you deal they have a ton. Pop figures galore and my favorite board games. They even have the epic Rick and Morty!!! Walking dead figures, backpacks , purses, figurines... the list goes on. It is however a bit pricey but I'll pay too dollar for something that I truly find intriguing.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are not inflated and very reasonable. They didn't hurry us along as we asked questions. They were attentive and helpful. Will definitely be going back. Their selection was good also. Something for everyone.

This store takes me back in time 20 years ago when I would constantly shop at my lcs as a teen. All of the staff was friendly but the big man Mike was a blast. Very knowledgeable and just a pleasure to deal with. I live a few hours away and it was my first time going but I already want to make the trip back and spend a few hours going through the store and hang out with Mike and the crew. I love the core and free comic book day I go every time. And the people that volunteer and do the superheros are fun and always include the kids around in the skits they do

I went to this shop as a kid for years when I grew up here. Always had amazing selection and staff. Went back into the shop to support local business on my first visit back in over 15 years. Customer service was still spot on and the selection was phenomenal. They have everything you’d want to find in a game store. Not only that, but the prices were actually cheaper than online on items I was looking at, which is unheard of. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area or stopping through!

Greatest place in the Cedar valley to find everything from vintage comic books all the way to today's latest. Magic cards Pokemon cards etc.. +More. The staff was great, knowledgeable, vocal, and welcoming. Took my son to the Comic-Con that was hosted fantastic experience. We'll definitely be coming back as regular customers. And look forward to the next event.

A friend in Waterloo mentions this place quite a bit. I finally had an opportunity to shop here. The employees were great. They had to help me find the place when my navigation assistant stopped talking to me. I had a nice conversation with one of the other customers who mentioned the loyal following that this store has. I had a great time shopping. This is my review by an out of town visitor. I will definitely stop here again.
