Galaxy Nails Iowa City

When I moved to this area about 3 years ago I was salon shopping and this was "hands" down the best and has become my home salon! They take care of you, listening to what you want and helping me when I can't make up my mind. I love that while I am getting my pedicure someone is also doing my nails at the same time, which cuts down on chair time!!!
My sister now drives an hour and half to get hers done here with me.
I highly recommend ALL the nail artists here, they are very good!

I have been a client going on six years now. I have received eye brow waxing, pedicures and manicures (dip,shelac, acrylic) for myself. Over the years I have brought family and friends to Galaxy nails and always leave more than satisfied. I recommend this nail salon to everyone who asks. Making an appointment ahead helps tremendously and staff does a great job insuring they are ready at that specified time. Great deals, very skilled staff and friendly environment. Super satisfied with my service. I walked in without an appointment and was headed back home after less than 2 hours. This session I just had dip color done, next time I’ll opt for something with a design. They check in with you at every point in the service to make sure it’s looking right to you, I thought that was really thoughtful. They offer a clean environment and friendly service.

Update: Second visit was busy, but still in and out for a manicure in under 2 hours without an appointment. Again, clean and friendly. Checked in with me often to make sure I liked the shape. I love it here!

I had Amy do my nails and they came out so beautifully! The care and attention to detail was amazing. I went with two friends and we all had very similar designs but they all came out gorgeous. So excited to show these off at prom! Will definitely be coming back here for Amy!

I have been going to Galaxy Nails for 5 years. I am extremely happy with the service that I have received. I get powder manicures and regular pedicures. Everyone is very nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend Galaxy to everyone.

This place is amazing! I am very picky when it comes to my nails (thickness, crookedness, design) and Tina did amazing!!! For reference, they charged me $63 for my nails and that was after their 10% weekday discount if you make an appointment. Of course, nails these days are becoming more expensive, but I would say this is a reasonable price. I am definitely coming back here! My nails were the perfect thickness, Tina was very accommodating, they offer you drinks, and they constantly ask you if your nails are okay and if they look good! I actually ended up making a last minute design decision and she was also very accommodating to that! Overall, yes, you should go here!

Tiffany did exactly what I wanted her to do. The design is exactly what I showed her and she “nailed” it. Thank you so much! Michael did a great job on fixing some issues I had with my toe and made it look as if nothing was wrong. 5 stars for this place from me!! I will for SURE be back!!

Back again for the 2nd time! They stayed open an extra 20 minutes for me bc my nails weren't done!! Diem (Cindy) did my nails and took her time even though the salon had closed. I'll make an appt next time and definitely request her!

I’ve trialed several of the nail salons around Iowa City/Coralville over the last several years and Galaxy has become my top choice! Specifically, they do a great job with dip manicures (they last forever! I wash my hands at least 30 times a day at work and don’t have any issues with chipping, I have to go back in to get them redone because my nails have grown out too much). I’ve gotten a few gel manicures in the past and those are great too, I’m just a little too rough on my hands for them very long. Pedicures are great too- they’ve got plenty of things you can add to them if desired, which is a nice option. Staff are very friendly and responsive if you have a question or don’t like something, the salon is very clean and the vibes overall are great. Will def continue to frequent this salon and recommend it to my friends!

Live this place! I came with three people and we arrived later than usual and were done fast with amazing results and we had challenging designs, 10/10! Must go!

It is always a wonderful experience at Galaxy. Staff is great. They always know how to do the new trendy nails.

Sonny is just the BEST! He does amazing work and is so sweet. I’ve been using him since I moved to Iowa city and when I broke my nail off a few times he always fixes it with no problem.

Got my first dip set today with design and stones and they did an amazing job! Tiffany was personable, nice, professional, and did a great job on them. Will be returning.

Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. They do a great job and will explain things to you if you have any questions. I always get compliments on my nails from all ages of people. Galaxy Nails in Iowa City is my favorite place to go. 😊
