Absolutely delicious food, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere. I got the veggie yaki soba (which comes with a little salad and miso soup, which were both very tasty) and it was both very tasty and perfectly filling. I also shared a California roll, which was also very tasty.

Best sushi place in the Iowa City/Coralville/North Liberty area, hands down. Grew up in IC and it has been my favorite sushi place for years. High quality food with attentive and friendly staff.

This is the best sushi in town! My family regularly gets take out from this place and it is always so fresh and delicious. They are quick and efficient whether you dine in or take out. I love how unique and tasty their specialty rolls are. My favorites are the Iowa City roll and the Friendship roll. Also, their lunch special is a steal! Can’t recommend Oyama enough.

I went here with my sister and brother in law for a late lunch. The food was amazing, prompt, and well displayed. We ordered the sashimi appetizer, a squid dish, salmon teriyaki, last summer roll, demon roll, and fish cake. I also ordered tempura ice cream which is not the standard corn flakes on ice cream. I had to get more food delivered to me the next day. 10/10.

Met friends for a celebration dinner, and everyone enjoyed their dinner. We love that we can all find something from fried tofu to chicken teriyaki and all the sushi rollllllllsssss. My favorite is the avocado and peanut roll.

Oyama has really upped their presentation and the Hibachi teriyaki chicken was way better than before. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked with a nice grilled flavor. The vegetables were tender crisp.

The best Japanese restaurant I’ve EVER been to.

My first time ever trying sushi was here. I turned 12. I used to not like sushi, but I fell in love with it after trying the Iowa City role on that fateful birthday.

Fast forward almost 2 decades later, the Iowa City roll is still by far the best roll I’ve ever tasted. I’ve been to Japan, had sushi all over the world and the states, and nothing gets it quite right like Oyama.

My first, and my last! Please support this small business. They are truly gifted at their passion for great Japanese cuisine.

Oyama is unbeatable. It is by far the best sushi I’ve had anywhere in the Midwest (including Chicago and Minneapolis) I also lived in California, where they are obsessed with sushi, and Oyama is still in my top three all-time sushi spots.

Oyama uses the best ingredients, and their chefs have developed some incredible rolls with unique flavors. I’m still working my way through their menu, but the Black Sea Roll is my reigning favorite.

I also love the simple, cozy ambiance. It is not pretentious or overpriced. It is a great place for a casual date night, a celebration dinner, or to have an easy meal out when you don’t feel like cooking.

If you like good sushi, go to Oyama. Nowhere else comes close to their quality and experience.

Oh this is the best Sushi in Iowa City! It's not just the variety of fish they have (which is diverse) or the light crispness of their tempura (try the veggie appetizer) but there's something—like an almond roasted quality to the seaweed wrap they use in their rolls that's just... Well, it adds another dimension of richness to the flavor. Even the basic Spicy Tuna and Eel rolls are special somehow, and I'm a guy who likes his Unagi!

I promise you that this is the BEST sushi in Iowa City/Coralville area. This is my favorite spot! Great food, always fresh, prepared with attention to detail. My favorite is the sakura roll! A close second is the sunshine roll (replace the tuna with salmon). The squid nigiri is good too! They definitely don’t skimp out on the protein like other sushi places, the rolls themselves are huge/decently sized. The only area for improvement is that the wait time can be 50+ mins during peak times! But the yummy food makes up for it! Good stuff!

ONE OF MY FAVORITES! The food here is amazing. I usually get the Hibachi Chicken, Salmon bento box, veggie and shrimp tempura and mochi. Love when they bring the steamed wet towels to wash your hands. They smell so good. And, the staff are so sweet.

This is by far my favorite place to get sushi. I went with my kids a few weeks ago and they loved it also. My daughter dropped her soda off the table and broke the bottle and the waitress was very forgiving and quick to clean it up. (I tried helping but she wouldn’t let me) I’ve always gotten friendly service and yummy/fresh sushi.

I was never a big sushi fan, but then I happened to try it here & am hooked, now my sister & I usually dine here at least once a month, it's a little pricey, but for the portions & variety, in my opinion, is worth it.

Very nice restaurant. Great service, great food, good prices for large portions. Place was clean and well decorated, though it isn't huge and felt slightly crowded.
