Super friendly staff and delicious food. Go on weekends to get quesabirrias. I love to sit down here and enjoy a meal, but you can grab it to go too.

Omg their birria tacos are dynamite. I literally just drove to the other side of town to get them. They also have a birria burrito which is next on my list. Quick friendly service & great tacos WOW!

I got carne asada tacos, rice and beans. Beans were flavorful, creamy and smooth, tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had… And the rice? It was so fluffy, when I blew on it to cool it off rice stated floating away. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this place, but I’ll be a repeat customer for sure. 10/10

This is the best fried taco joint in all of Iowa, PERIOD!!!! If u haven't tried them, then your really missing out. U better order ahead of time if your not dinning in. Your also gonna want more then 2, cuz I promise u can't eat just 1 or 2, lbs.

Get al pastor tacos and their pozole. The tacos are amazing but the pozole is 👌 magnificent! The broth is so flavorful, meat tender, and hominy cooked perfectly. You guys are hands down the place to go.

I adore this place! The food cooked here is amazing and they have a great selection of Hispanic snacks and groceries. When friends visit me from out of state, we make it a priority to go here at least once while they're here. The owners are also great people!

Some great improvements on the store! Brand new fridges for the meat and everything looks so fresh. Colorful, Wonderful store with authentic Mexican food. 100% recommend the burrito. One will fill you up for the entire day

I arrived late one day without knowing when the kitchen was shut down. I told them I would come back another time but they insisted I stay and eat. They even made me quesabirrias when they were sold out for the day. The cook (owner?) came out and shared his love for food with me. Their meat counter has excellent pastor.

Went for the special last night with a friend of mine and it was out of this world good! flavor on point and the owner checked on us a few times to make sure we were all set. On top of that they are a lil grocery store and sell all kinds of things. 10/10 would recommend!

I went in because I had not been for 30 years. I walked around to see what was being offered. When I went back to the meat counter, there was fresh shrimp ceviche. OMG it was delicious. I bought a bag of corn chips and had a meal. Will be back to shop local!!!!

The steak burrito is so good it’ll make you a better person. Their hot sauce will make you cry tears of joy and pain at the same time. This is not a joke, you will regret every day that passes without having tried the steak burrito here. 11/10

Very underrated prefer this over taco trucks or other mexican restaurants in the metro area.

I literally drive 6 hours round trip to eat here and buy their amazing food. You can't get more authentic than this without cooking it yourself.

This wonderful little store is literally a diamond in the dirt and don't let the looks fool you these people work hard to bring you the best food you could get they're wonderful people and I wouldn't go anywhere else or have it any other way

This is the place for the best tamales in Des Moines! Everyone is so friendly! I just can't tell you enough how great the tamales are!

Couldn't find the dried peppers I was looking for, came here, they had a huge selection of those and more. The guy working was super friendly, and incredibly helpful!

I was raised on authentic Mexican food and La Favorita does not disappoint! I got three delicious carne asada tacos and a coke for less than a value meal from McDonalds. I highly recommend this quaint little spot!

I was pleasantly with how much I really liked this store. Prices are great. Clean. Has a meat department. Staff is all family I believe.
