Very good & filling. Grilled tenderloin is tasty as well as the large breakfast. Italian Sausage sandwich 🥪 is always my 1st choice! Enough for round 2 later. 😋✌🚴‍♂😷

Love Pa Pa Kerns. Absolutely an east side treasure. Very good food, very good service, hope they solve the staffing issue. The best establishment to ever occupy that location. IMO

Had the roasters. It was really good got it to go the gal was real friendly. And they weren't skimpy on the food .. I be back there again to try some other dinner meal

One of my favorite places to eat breakfast in Des Moines. I had the farmers eggs over easy. We were seats quickly, the food was made fresh and delicious, the service was friendly.

Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, this is one of the best diner’s I’ve been too in a very long time. I’ve taken family and friends there 5 times now over the last 4 months and found the service to be professional, always getting my food and my family’s food as we order it. Priced well.

Got the special of the day which was fish and chips, served fresh of course. Had excellent friendly service and orders came out in a timely fashion, very nice family friendly establishment! I will be back!

Food is quality and substantial servings! Served very quickly although we came in before the lunch hour rush. One of our favorite places!! Highly recommend for good comfort food!!

Reviews need to be about the FOOD! Stop reviewing on the fact they are slow getting to your table, occasionally! I want to know about the food and if it is good, or not! Sometimes home cooked meals, made to order, takes perfection and time, and if they are busy, this can cause a delay in your order, and the time it may take to get a cup of coffee in your face, so stop complaining about how slow it takes for the waitress to get to your table, just stop!!

I don't give 5 stars often because there's always room for improvement. But this place was pretty close. Great staff, good food, good prices. Neat place.

Just recently discovered this restaurant and I’m glad I did. The food and service was amazing. The serving sizes are harty so you will not leave hungry. I will be telling my friends to try this place out forsure!

Always easy to get into, no matter how busy. Their coffee is something I look forward to every time I go. It's always for sure, but whatever else I order is up to my belly! 😋😁

Papa Kern's has some really great food. Their specials are great, they are Monday thur Saturday. The prices are really great. A different one every day. When you eat there it's just like a home cooked meal. For less than $20 it's Great. Try it you will like it.

Had a great breakfast at Papa Kerns today! Super service and very tasty! The kids ate every morsel of French Toast! My favorite dish is the Kicken Texan! Definately recommend!

My husband has to go there at least once a week for their french dip. Ask for Stephanie, she's a great waitress.

I have been going to Papa Kerns since I have been back on the East side, so less than 6 months and I have had the best service and the food is amazing. I am a server 15+ years and I honestly think that Papa Kerns is the top restaurant I have eaten at with consistent great food and the server (Christina, love her) is quick and so professional. The food coming out of the kitchen is quick and hot. We will be coming back for years to come ❤

Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was extremely friendly, fast service, and great prices. I loved the small town feel. We will definitely be back!
