We loved this park!
It's big and beautiful, park staff is friendly, it's clean and well kept, the sites are decent sized, the playground was fun for the kiddos, lots of walking trails and wildlife, check out the river. It's low but beautiful. We'll be back for sure.

We liked this county park. We arrived about dusk, had no problem finding an RV site, and found it pleasant but not fancy. We also did some walking in the park--it is a dispersed, somewhat underdeveloped resource at a beautiful and historic spot on the DesMoines River. It was also fairly convenient to the freeways yet secluded and quiet. We saw a bald eagle with a fish in its claws too :-).

I stumbled upon this park, it seems quite popular and well taken care of. I had my dog with me , the trails offered shade and open sunny spaces. Very well maintained whether it was a grass path or dirt path. I will definitely come back to explore some more.

Very nice campground with trails, playgrounds, river access, fishing pond with dock, and many photograph opportunities. The campground host was friendly. Mature trees provide shade. Flat loops give kids a place to safely ride bikes.

Beautiful park with gorgeous views. Trails for walking, and areas for picnicking, camping as well as playgrounds for kids.

Gorgeous time of year to visit Yellow Banks. Dogs running on the sandy river bank, kids flying kites along the river, lots of hiking throughout the park and fishing over at the pond.

The Eagle View and Bluff Overlook trails are so short and easy, even toddlers could do it.

The pond is muddy around the edges, but if that doesn't bother you, it's a great place to view or catch frogs. So many frogs.

Beautiful place. Nice walking trails woods and high prairie grass. The river is very swollen today. Almost to the top of the boat ramp.

It is absolutely gorgeous! The insects can swarm a little bit, due to then proximity of the water, but gorgeous views all around!

Camp ground looked well taken care of and they have some really cool primitive camping spots I hope to take advantage of this season.

I stopped after work and kind of just took some quick hikes to break in my new boots. I love this place. It kind of reminds me of my hometown park Doliver. Will be back for sure!

I've fished here as a kid but last weekend was the first time ever camping at Yellow Banks. I liked that the primitive campsites were a bit secluded so it was pretty peaceful. Also the bathrooms & shower house were clean & well maintained. We'll definitely be going here again.

Nice county park and campground surprisingly located at the end of a suburban street. Hiking trails, playground, horseshoe pits and Indian burial mound give you plenty to do if you have time.
Campgrounds include nice RV sites with electric and a primitive tent area.
Park is ten minutes from stores and gas.

Clean well kept campgrounds with friendly Camp Hosts. We rode bikes through the area to the lake and the river and put the kayaks in the lake and the river. We spent three nights here and really enjoyed ourselves
