Bordenaro's Pizza & Pasta

Finally stopped by the famous Bordenaro's during the start of the blizzard last night. Gf & I were greeted by friendly server, made recommendations on the Bordy pizza, full order off onion rings to go! While we were waiting we were persuaded in trying the house salad, with homemade Creamy Italian dressing! The salad was amazing! When we got the food home we were amazed at the pizza, homemade crust no wonder this place is voted best pizza in Des Moines! Now their onion rings were amazing, glad we got the large! Definitely be back! Ps best damn leftover pizza I have ever had!

Accidentally walked in 38 minutes before close on Monday night. The late sunset confuses me sometimes. The staff was still super polite and sat us. The menu was straightforward so we ordered immediately. Food came out ~20 minutes later, piping hot--super fresh. They don't make their own pasta, but the sauces are created in-house. And you know the sauce dictates how good a dish will be. The crust on the pizza was perfect! I inhaled my half/half rigatoni and we boxed up the rest of the pizza to go. I didn't want my salad then so the server kept it in the cooler until we were ready to leave. We were able to make it out 5 minutes before they officially closed. Everyone was great. The food was EXACTLY what I wanted. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Highly recommend!

Family friendly, fairly priced, and fantastic food!

We come here every Tuesday for pizza, wings, and onion rings and sometimes a salad or another app and a few pitchers of beer.

Food is fantastic every time and the service is great - they even gave us a nice little bib for our son!

Bordy’s special and the taco pizza are two of the best!

There was a mixup with our order, causing it to be quite late, but the owner drove it to us himself and apologized in person. We are very grateful. Also, some of the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had!

This was our first visit. The pizza was excellent. I like the spicy sauce. Our waitress was super!

Has that old school feel that I love. The pizza is the one of the best. Friendly staff and fast service. Recommend that you make this a stop.

Best pizza in Des Moines! I lived in the Des Moines area from 2011 until 2023. I have had pizza from dozens of pizza places in the area and none compare to Bordenaros. Great onion rings and sandwiches too. This restaurant is the only thing I will miss from the area.

Exceptional thin crust pizza and staff! The restaurant is very comfortable and clean. One criticism is that their pasta dishes are very disappointing, especially for an established Italian restaurant.

Best pizza in Des Moines. I have now had 3 different pizzas and they are all great! I have had the Meat lovers and Chicken Bacon Alfredo and now the Taco. Very very good.

My favorite pizza place in Des Moines. Onion rings awesome. My daughter likes toasted ravioli. Highly recommend.

Sad Update 😔 07/05/23. I've always LOVED this place, but tonight was different. The pizza was so spicey that I couldn't eat it, so I ordered a 'grinder' to go. When I got home I opened the saddest excuse for a grinder I've ever seen. No cheese, just a glob of sauce in one place and some loose meat on top of it. Wow! What happened to this place?

Great place to bring your family and friends. Sit down and enjoy a big pizza! Customer service was great. The server was on the ball with our drinks and refills. The pizza was crispy and delicious. I would definitely stop back in for more. I recommend stopping in and trying their pizza

This is where we had my mother in law's birthday party. The service was great. Very friendly and fun.
And, I've found my new favorite onion rings... Their double dipped onion rings are thee best! We loved everything! Crinkle cut fries, Bosco stick, cheese bread, breaded pickles, rigatoni, salad w/ranch, Philly sandwich, tenderloin, pizza...everything was well cook, flavorful. We'll be going back on out own over and over. Worth the drive!

My order was Guinea grinder sandwich with onion rings and a slice of chocolate cake. OH MY the
Sandwich was large with Graziano sausage, great flavor and cheese on a soft hoagie bun. Saved half my sandwich for next day. I have to make room for that delicious moist double chocolate cake. It was so good! The onion rings were very good. I like the light batter on them. They weren't thin but not thick ither. Very reasonable priced for the amount of food you get. Definitely will order again from here. I'll try the pizza the next time.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Great crust, sauce, cheese and meat. A real pizza for adults.

The best pizza in the world! We ate bordy's special 16" pizza with onion rings on the side. It was soooo delicious we ate the whole pie!

First and only time! I would tell anyone in Des Moines to go at least once, you can smell the kitchen outside of the restaurant 😋 Had to change plans and came back 😍😍😍
